This may be the best 'generic' T-shirt that I have ever owned. It is very comfortable and soft to the touch while being breathable and stylish as well. I own three of these, and they're easily my favorite t's. Yes, the fabric is substantial and not technical, so maybe not the best choice for heavy workouts or really hot days. And yes, they run a bit large and a little long, which is perfect for me. Simple, plain, sustainable and comfortable -- what else could you want from a T?
Like many of the new hemp designs, this has a great material with a poor design. Patagonia, please, just make the worlds best t-shirt design and make all your t-shirts with that same pattern. Read Morestrating than raising your arms and showing the entire world your workout routine over the last decade (or lack thereof). Even though it is jersey, and thus a stretchy fabric, I feel like I am fighting the sleeves sometimes. I usually resolve this by rolling them up once. I understand the need for longer short sleeves and sun, but just think Patagonia needs to do more testing to see how the sleeve follows your arm, or combats it. Last, I just don't think the collar fits well around the neck. I can feel the collar slide around my neck throughout the day whether it has slid up the front of my neck or the back. It's not like i'm not going to use these, because the hemp fabric is great. It feels slightly scratchy the first day but breaks in after that. But like I say in my other reviews, I think Patagonia should look at other t-shirt designs in history to perfect this one.
I have 5 of these shirts but due to a weight loss I decided to splurge on a couple of the correct size. These shirts wear well and outlast the average tee shirt. Durability is more important to me than style and these deliver a long life, unless one gains or loses weight. Another great Patagonia product.
Incredible fit and material
This T-shirt fits better than any other T-shirt I have ever worn. Patagonia's workwear runs long, which is helpful for me as typically a M size is too short, while a L size is too wide. If you are tall and lanky, this shirt will fit you quite well. The material is abrasion resistant and only gets more comfortable each wash. Despite being a hea... Great for sweat
I work in a kitchen and it gets VERY hot and I get VERY sweaty. I used to use cotton or cotton/nylon fabrics until last Summer I decided to try this shirt. I was concerned if this heavier shirt would be too hot. It's thicker and it insulates. But after a year of wearing these shirts, what I was very pleased with is what I call the "sweat ... Read Moremanagement" of this shirt. Which no other shirt I have ever owned has this. It seems like with the other shirts I once wore, they would trap the sweat against my body and actually prevent evaporation, which is what my body needs to cool down, and at the same time, not FREEZE when I stepped into the walk-in cooler. I would often feel beads of sweat slide down my back, which never happened wearing this Patagonia shirt. My body was always wet, and whenever I stepped into the walk-in cooler, or even into the well air conditioned dining areas, my body would feel very cold and clammy. VERY uncomfortable. Sweating heavily would feel very uncomfortable in those shirts no matter where I was. That's where this shirt shines. This shirt soaks up all your sweat and evaporates it very nicely. The shirt does get wet in areas I have my apron on, but it's not uncomfortable or clammy at all. If I am sweating buckets in the hot kitchen and then have to spend a few minutes in the walk-in cooler, the shirt actually STILL insulates. I don't feel that SHOCKING clammy cold. I have bought 14 of these shirts over a year's time and going back to other shirts is always an eye-opener to the benefits of wearing a shirt such as this in the kitchen. This is THE shirt to have if you work in a HOT environment. This shirt is the best sweat management I have ever worn, which in turn, makes it the most comfortable work shirt I have ever worn. ----- This shirt new fits a LOT more smaller than after wearing and washing it a lot. I got the XXL which starts out snug but I can grab it and stretch it out and it stays stretched out, and after many uses it drapes over me quite well. I like the shorter/higher-up sleeves. It is (and especially after many uses) a very long shirt that goes down below my buttocks (I am 6') But I like that. I pretty much like everything about the shirt. I blew out the pockets on a few of them because I wore a heavy, skinny 6" flashlight in them on a regular basis. I threw away that flashlight and went with another one because of that. NOT the shirt's fault. I wish they came in a dark green and a black. Patagonia would get a lot more sales out of me if they did. I have the blue, grey and brown. My favorite? The brown.
Ive bought polo tshirts for 40 years, Same fit, like getting a favorite t shirt every time.Loved your flying fish t,this one kinda sucks?!

Had to size down, great heavy T shirt
I'm 6' 195lb, have a 45" chest. I take an XL in most brands and in Patagonia a large usually just fits me. So I'd say it's a great T for casual wear, but too heavy and slow to dry for hiking, running, etc.
I love Patagonia. I bought 2 of these thinking theyd be soft and fit well like the other Patagonia stuff I have... they do not. Very rough texture, very cheap feel... its disappointing. Sad to say these will be donated rather than worn.

First time I ordered this shirt I ordered medium. Fit me very baggy. Decided to go with a small the second time. Medium was big and comfy, and the small fit like a regular Patagonia medium. For this shirt specifically Ill continue to order small. Its light, breathable, and the solids rock.
Great shirt and love the durable material but the fit is huge compared to all other shirts Ive purchased. Not even close to normal fit for a size small.

Great For Work
I work in a kitchen and I have been buying all kinds of different shirts to try out at work. I love the fit. The arm length is perfect. Very comfortable. Read Moreactually like how it's long. I can tuck it in and pull it out to get a very comfortable hang to it. I probably could do fine with an XL, but I prefer my shirts roomy. And it looks great. I was also concerned with how well it would perform with the extreme heat of the kitchen, and this shirt shines in that department. This fabric can be a good insulator(to a degree) under a jacket, but in the heat this shirt whisks away sweat very well. My old cotton work shirts would leave me wearing a soaked shirt. All it takes is the slightest breeze, like you get from just walking. When I am sweating and walk from one room to another, I can feel the coolness from my sweat evaporating very quickly and I can feel the air cut right through the shirt. Very impressed with it. Also it doesn't stain easy and it doesn't smell after a long hot day in the kitchen, which is everything I need in a work shirt. I started out buying 1, and have since ordered 7 more (for my days off too). Wish it came in black.
After buying two of these shirts when they were first available I purchased more so I could wear one daily. The reason? Durability. Mine have not lost their shape and the color remains pretty much intact. I am a fan of something I do not need to replace annually and these meet that standard.

I'd give it 5 stars but there's one issue. The sizing is a little wonky. It runs really large over what I expected. It could be that 'work shirts' are just sized differently. Great T-shirt but make sure you size down
Very comfortable environmentally friendly blend of hemp and cotton, appears durable but the sizing is significantly different from other products. AT 5-8 150 lbs a medium typically fits fine but a small is more than roomy enough in this case. Good for casual activity, hiking etc.
I bought a couple of these shirts before in XL and they ran a little so, I bought them again but in large this time. The large is somehow bigger than the XL was!! I like these shirts but the sizing is very strange
