Super durable and comfortable!
These pants are slick- not fancy slick, but very durable, good looking, and comfortable all at the same time! woohoo! Leave it to Patagonia to design the impossible! One thing~ the waist runs small -- so I would suggest going a size larger than usual! Great pants! Highly recommend!
I purchased these pants out of a need for durable and robust pants for winter wear. A slimmer fitting version, like what is offered in the Women's category, would be much appreciated.
Hi Devin! Thank you for your review. We greatly appreciate your request for a slimmer version of the pant. We'll share this with our design team to keep in mind for future seasons.

Solid material, but wish Patagonia made a trim version
These pants are great for outdoor winter wear, which was the reasoning behind buying this. But, these are HUGE... So if you're a thinner person be prepared for that. It would be appreciated if Patagonia made a slim fitting version for men, as there already is for women.
We appreciate your feedback, as the majority of our Workwear line for men is designed with a relaxed fit to allow for greater range of motion. Durable
Great work and casual pant that is well constructed and soft.
First off, these pants do not fit true to size at all. The pants are very long, and the heavier weight of the pants could be contributing to this. These pants are very heavy in general, and the fit seems more like a women pant. Finally, the crotch rides up insanely high and your package will definitely suffer for it. However, these are extremely we... Read Morell-made pants that looks great but fall totally short on the fit.

Best Work Pants
These pants are made for work. The material is rugged without being too thick to be unbearable in summer. Crotch is gusseted, perfect for crouching and getting in and out of vehicles. Side pockets for the back look a bit odd, but are highly functional so you dont sit on your phone or tools. Highly recommend if you need to work hard but still look p... Read Morerofessional.
I buy these pants for my boyfriend to work in. He really likes that you can put knee pads in the knee pad pockets, but the knees seem to blow out every 3 months or so, then I patch them and get him another pair. He likes everything about the pants, just wish the knee material was thicker and more abrasion resistant.
These pants are amazing I love them. Tough, good looking, comfortable. My only issue is the length. And thats my own issue. My legs are in between lengths. 32-1/2 is a little short and 34-1/2 is a little long. But they are amazing. I highly recommend them. I am an arborist and do hard work all the time and these are great.
I bought these in black as a gift for my son, who wears his lighter colored ones while doing landscaping work. They wear well - still look great! The fit is really good on his slim build
The nicest feature of these pants is that they allow me to wear them out on the town or working on my house. They are very versatile! The only suggestion I have is to make them in more colors.
I have been wearing these to work on a construction site for 2 years. The have amazing abrasion resistance and show no signs of wear in the knees at all despite alot of kneeling. Also love the huge rear pockets.Only improvements would be a side pocket or two and a key ring loop for my shop keys.
I was told to size down bc they run big, not true - exchanged for the correct size. They also do shrink a touch in the dryer. They are light weight but still durable. I get them completely wet and they dry quick.
Bought these for my husband; he's a farmer and homebuilder. Wanted the 36, but Patagonia never seems to have them in his waist size in anything but black. They're a little loose on him (~220 lbs), but he appreciates the comfort and durability. I'll get him another pair if they ever come in a 36 Long in anything but the black color.
I'm happy with these very sturdy pants. The size is as the size guide recommended, I'm a 34 waist and ordered a 33 and it fits well. They are a bit baggy so I need to fasten the cuffs, usually by stuffing them into my socks, before riding my bike.
I like these pants-- but waist size was accurate on 1 pair, but the other two pair I ordered were too small in the waist. It seems that sizing is not accurate between individual pants in the same model. This is frustrating because you just never know if the waist size will fit or not based upon how another pair of the same pants fit. Construction i... Read Mores excellent. Fabric is unique-- rugged but also very very heavy (they weigh a ton; do not use them on a big wall). I think I prefer cotton as hemp is too heavy. I got two pair on sale, but would not pay full price for these.
We're sorry to hear about the inconsistency in sizing, and we greatly appreciate you sharing this information! Great jeans love the thickness of material
It is winter and the jean material is thick and luxurious. The waist is small, and I guess they sit over hips. After wearing them for two weeks they have stretched enough to be comfortable all day. I really like them. I wear 36 in patagonia all day long, I have 5 different styles of their pants. The pockets are excellent, you can put tools in the r... Read Moreear pockets or a phone and not sit on them. I'm buying another pair now.
Nice relaxed fit around the waist, the length is perfect, the material so soft and comfortable. My Carharts are so stiff and scratchy compared to these. Worth every penny!
I havent had them very long but they are very comfortable and seem to be durable so far. I do not like the shape of the back pockets, functionally not bad, but look very ugly to me. Looks weird, like pants are on backwards or something. Would like to have a pocket on the right side of pant leg. All my other work pants have had a pocket there, where... We appreciate your thoughtful and detailed feedback. The back pocket design is one that we have used for decades, starting with our famous Stand Up Shorts and Pants. Thanks for your review, Michael!

W it's kinda small ....I'm 6'4 ordering size long and it's long maybe little to long
Quite warm for work pants almost to warm for indoors. Also the back pockets are a bit odd might wanna look at those before you buy. Otherwise they seem like really good pants, I hope they last a long time to come.
A great pair of pants if you want to look like you are a worker but want the comfort of a broken in pair of pants. Fool your employees by wearing work wear and impress your colleagues with your fashion sense.
Really like these as an alternative to other duck pants Way more comfortable from the get-go.
-Throw a pair of knee pads in the pockets and youre all set.
-The deep back pockets are great.
-The hemp wears well against abrasion, but in my experience, the fabric is pretty susceptible to snagging.
-I agree with an earlier poster, a side pocket for yo... Read Moreur phone (or multitool) would be awesome.
Im 6-7 and found these pants to be laughably short. I hope that they will be offered in 36 inseam lengths in the future because I have to return these ones.
Hello William, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry the length did not work out. At this time, we do not offer tall sizing for men's pants with 36" inseam but we appreciate your feedback and will share your request with our designers. Fit great
Great pants, super comfortable and durable. Only reason not five stars is top waist band is a little thick to where under tool belt. Other than that no complaints. Great pants ,great company.
My 2nd pair of these and I have one pair of the lighter weight version as well. Super comfortable, great fit, great pockets, only downside is that they do snag fairly easily...more comfortable than jeans but less durable.
Excellent construction. Fabric has a heavy feel yet is not at all stiff. This is my first pant with the huge rear pockets and Im liking them. If there was a side thigh pocket for my phone, these would be perfect. I still rate them five star.
These khaki canvas pants looks great and fit well. I'm pretty tall and ordered the long version - they fit just right. They seem very durable, and I like the deep pockets. I've already gotten a compliment on them.
My favorite pant!! The heavy-duty fabric is fantastic! The pant is actually very hefty when you pick it up, yet allows wonderful freedom of movement and flexibility. I think these pants will be with me for quite some time.
Very comfortable...I have these and the lighter weight version and dig them both...the fabric is soft for how thick it is but is a bit nappy and starting to pick a little. The pockets are good but could be a hair deeper.
I'm a coal miner and work underground. These pants are the best work pants I have ever owned. They've lasted longer than any denim I've ever worked in.
Goat farming is a dirty business. This pant stands up to the tests of the farm and looks and feels superior to other work pants I own. It is my go to pants.
These are bar none the best pants I've ever owned. Hay fields or church they feel equally perfect. I want the matching work coat so bad. I would absolutely recommend these for anyone.
I’ve been wearing these around town and to the office all summer and I love them. Comfortable and seem durable. Finally got a couple stains, so they’re going to see some hard use soon. My wife likes them too, especially since my old army pants are no longer my go-to project britches. (Apparently no one ever told her that BDU/DCU/ACU pants are super... Read More cool...) I’m planning to pick up a few more pairs of Patagonia Hemp Double Knees to have in rotation as the designated work pair wears out. It’ll be interesting to see how long it takes to destroy them. I’m guessing it’ll be at least a couple years. Nice work on these!
I'm really impressed with the fit and feel of these pants. The material is weighty but soft, so they are warmer than average. The pockets are big and easy to use. I'm 6'1" and 165lbs, and the 32 Long fits me perfectly. I want to buy three more pairs.
Just bought my 3rd pair and these are the most durable and comfortable pants you’ll find. I wear them everywhere and treat them terribly, yet they still look brand new after 2+ years of abuse.
The pants are wonderful except that they don’t fit and consequently I can’t use them. I tried on the next smaller size in the store and they were too tight so I ordered one size up. When they arrived they were obviously too big. I took them to a tailor and she told me that she couldn’t make the pants smaller because they were too well made!
We are very sorry to hear about the troubles you've experienced with sizing on these. Itcan always be tough when you are in-between sizes. Please feel free to [send](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html#searchterm=return) these back to us.

Very high quality but more suited for fall or winter
Great pants but pretty heavy abs warm- definitely recommend for cooler weather but a bit too warm for the summer heat
These are very nice pants. the fit from the waist to the thigh is perfect. the legs may be loose fitting but this is good for the intended use. gusseted crotch works very well. the long version may be an inch too long but the regular is likely an inch too short. I am 5'11". fabric is a pleasure to wear. will be buying more.
I have been a fan of Patagonia design and quality for a long time. These men ironforge hemp pants are the most comfortable and practical pants I have ever wore. Deployed overseas all over the world in very harsh environments and these pants, besides being extremely comfortable from the start, are also very tough and surprisingly stain resistant. Ha... Read Moreve worn them almost every day now for over 2 months in a 3rd world war zone and they show no wear from use or washing. Other hard wearing cargo type pants are usually worn out and fail within 6 months in my line of work and activities but I think these Hemp pants will wear better than that and last much longer. I love these pants and are planning to buy more of them as soon as I return home to the US again.
5/5-Concept. Its about time we start seeing hemp textiles and hopefully Patagonia's entry into hemp pants will mean they get behind legislation to encourage domestic production ( Am I mistaken this is Canada hemp?)
5/5-Material. Immediately soft like worn denim. Tight weave. The material did not shrink for my first 4 washes then about 3% max ... Read Morein length. This hemp is actually softer than a Patagonia shirt that I own which is atleast 5 years old.
5/5-Sizing. Consistent sizing true to tag. I bought a 32" and 34" inseam. The knee pads are about 1" lower on the Long.
?/5-Color fastness. Unsure. Hemp does not have good dye retention quality but possibly the cotton will help. So far,I have not seen fading but I wash these inside out in Warm.
5/5-Double Knee. Left with an opening to slide in a foam pad but I have not fitted any yet.
OK,one request to Patagonia to make these the greatest pants since their original. Take a gander at your archive collection and combine the new Iron Hemp apant with the full double thigh & knee like the photo archive below.
