Purchased this for my 15 year old daughter who likes to stay in boys pants as long as possible. Talked her into this pair and she loves it! Fits very well and she likes to wear it to school and on hikes.
This is my second pair because I wear them so often. Very comfortable with just the right amount of roominess so there's no binding, but fit is flattering. Elastic inner drawstring cord is great - gently holds pants at a comfortable waist fit, whether on an empty stomach or after a huge meal. Washes well over and over.
Sufficiently business-like to wear to active work. Very comfortable & great colors. Loosen slightly with wear. Lightweight fabric dries quickly. Tights underneath in cold.
Flattering, comfortable and utilitarian, all-in-one perfect hiking pants.
I would have given these hiking pants a 5 star review if the side leg zip pocket was just a tad deeper so my iPhone fit in there with the pocket zipped. I now have in two colors, and am thinking of buying another color in these pants. I support Patagonia because of their support of conservation causes. My purchases come not wrapped in plastic, but plain paper, with all paper tags, the the materials the pants are made from, from what I understand, are all recycled. Go Patagonia!
I ordered my regular pant size, but ended up with a size down, and short. They run long. Very comfortable. Love the stretch! Pockets are in the small side, so my phone doesnt fit. Otherwise, just love these!
I'm always between a 0 and a 2 in my pant choices and I have a narrow waist/thunder thigh shape. Comfortable with a ridiculous pocket
Though this pant is one is the most comfortable and well fitting things I've gotten, I can't say how disappointed I was that the cargo pocket in this version is useless! My All-Time Favorite Hiking Pants
The Quandary Pants are my ALL TIME FAVORITE HIKING PANTS. I have them in every color - and if they had more color options, I'd buy them. They are light, which makes them dry out quickly whether you're washing th... Read Moreem in a sink on travel (they'll be dry by the morning) or sweating through them in the summer (hang them up outside your tent and they'll also be dry by the AM!). Not a lot of pockets, but that's not a problem for me - if I'm hiking without a pack for storage, there is more than enough room for my key fob, poop bags for the dog, IDs and my cell phone. The fabric does repel water, which makes them a nice option if precipitation is in the forecast. They have belt loops, which Ive never used, but its a nice feature. The fabric is also virtually indestructible - Ive hiked through brush, thorns, etc. - no pulls or tears in the fabric. I love them so much theyre my go-to weekend pantsgardening, yard work, dog walking, grocery shopping, casual dinners out - and they pack down to virtually nothing, making it very convenient for me to bring them all on hiking trips. Buy yourself a pair - or two! You wont regret it. And Patagonia - MORE COLORS PLEASE!
I bought these when I knew I would be traveling full-time, and wanted everything to fit in the smallest carry-on suitcase Patagonia offers. The ONLY thing I would LOVE to have the option of is a longer length of 33. I am 58 and would like them to have a tall option for taller people.

Love it
I love the texture of the pants, the durability, all without being unbearably hot and thick. I like the darker colors best.
I hike a lot and Im a Levi lover. I purchased these pants to take to Iceland and decided to wear them until the trip. Im hooked. Great pockets-deep enough to be useful with some that zip for security. Light weight, rapid drying and an added perk: they're flattering (or so Ive been told) even though theyre roomy. I bought a second pair!
Not only are these pants comfortable, they fit great. Got caught in a downpour from my car to work, and the water just beaded up. Im buying another pair.
I absolutely love these pants! I have a tough time finding pants that fit well due to my slim frame, but these pants fit great without being too tight or too baggy. I already owned 2 pair, but I purchased 3 more pair.
The Women's Quandary Hiking pants are excellent! The fit is perfect and they look great on the trail or in town. I LOVE these pants. I wear them all the time, winter or summer, work or leisure. Im a veterinarian and when they get messy it just wipes off and dries in a flash. Perfect. Comfortable, professional. Way better than jeans
These are my favorite Patagonia pants in a few years. Two things I would change: more colors and a deeper cargo pocket. (I cant zip it over my iPhone 5.)

The older pair sat closer to my natural waist which I loved whereas the newer pair sits lower on the hip, below my belly button. Im not a young female, not old but I have a womans figure and would prefer it if these were made with the higher rise as on my older pair. Not sure why Patagonia changed that? That said, I still love these hiking pants, the quality is unmatched! For reference, Im 56 and 128lbs; I purchased a size 4. I highly recommend them!

LOVE these pants
I absolutely love these pants. They are my very favorite, as hiking pants, and for regular wear. They are comfortable, perfect for when it’s hot, or when it’s cool outside, and the pocket holds my large iPhone perfectly. And they have held up one year later, even with all the wearing. I like them so much, I had to buy another.
First purchase of these pants were to large. Even with long under ware underneath. I returned them and bought 2 sizes smaller. Perfect fit, even with long johns! Nice pair of pants!
I bought these for hiking, but have also worn them to work as there are no huge pockets or zippers that would make them look strictly utilitarian. VERY comfortable!
The fit and fabric are good. I am 5’9” and 140 and usually take a 10 or medium. The fit was fine. The pants will work well for a Thailand trip in December.
I love how these pants fit, and I have actually had several people ask me what kind they are. They are lean, but not too body-hugging. Light-weight. Nearly perfect! The overall stretch is wonderful for all tasks and backcountry hiking. The fit is perfect except for waist - the drawstring option is not effective, so pants just end up riding lower. Love them. Bought them in two colors. Run large, so sized down.
They fit really well although I wish they were a little higher in the waist. I’m a dog walker and the material helps me to stay cool (relatively) in Alabama’s hot, humid summers.
I love the fit of these pants, but please make the thigh pocket 1-in. Longer to fit phone. None of the pockets securely hold the phone the way other brands do.
Love love love these pants. The material is very lightweight, sheds water beautifully, and was perfect for hiking the rainforests in Costa Rica. Long pants were necessary to keep insect bites at bay, but I wanted to be comfortable in the hot and humid conditions. These did the trick.
Have purchased two pair of Patagonia Quandry pants this season. I’m 5’6”, about 116 pounds with a slender build. The size 2 fit perfectly. I machine was them on cold and let them air dry.

the side pocket is too small to carry iPhone. Not that I want screen time while hiking, but I do like to use it to take photos and it would be handy to be able to pull it out of the pocket rather than stopping and digging it out of my pack.
I love these pants. Bought a pair years ago at a ski resort. They fit perfectly and were attractive, slimming and downright practical with pockets. Material feels light and extremely comfortable. I bought another pair, same design, Quandary, same size. They are a bit larger so there’s an inconsistency there. But I still love the pants. I bought the... These are perfect! Great to wear for field work, in the office and lab, in/on the water, and hanging out at camp. Pockets are a tad on the small side (I don't carry a purse so my phone is always shoved in a pocket and these are a bit small to fit all the way). I will be ordering more.
I received good service, very pleasant customer contact and quick delivery of product. Quality of pants is great and the size is spot on. I love my Quandry "hiking" pants! They are nice enough for me to wear to work with dressier shoe's and tops or on the trails with hiking boots. Very versatile. Comfortable with just enough stretch for movement climbing rocks. I have two pairs in dark grey and olive green.
Like these pants. Comfortable and good quality. For me they run big and had to return for smaller size. Disappointed however that neither back pockets nor pocket on leg big enough for phone to fit all the way in.
I bought these recently in a size 12 along with a pair of RPS Rock pants in the same size (I was looking for blue pants). I love the simple styling on the Quandry. These pants fit great, are light and stretchy. I wish Patagonia would make a womens long as they do for the men because these are just a little too short for my long legs.
These parts are very comfortable, lightweight, and fit true to its size. I'm 5' 5'' and 135 lbs and fit perfectly into size 4. My coworker even complimented me on them.
I don't have the normal woman's cut. I do better in men's pants. My waist is similar in size to my hips, straight up and down with a little belly, and flat butt. Normally in the past I would have to order a 14 to get the waist to fit but then the hips and legs would billow out, so I never found patagonia pants to work for me. Yet, th... So I returned for a 10, (about 17" across) spot on. I thought the waist would be tight but for me they were perfect, even comfortably loose and probably need a belt or use the tie. They are cut slim in the hips and work well for a flat behind. I bought all three. love the cut, the length, runs a tad long for a 32, but I do better with a 33, so these were perfect. The lightweight stretch fabric, (including the waist that stretches a bit too) makes them feel very comfortable and will be great in warmer weather. I bet I could of fit in an 8 but I don't like my pants tight. Normal figures will definitely want to size down. Make more colors for us misfit shapes please.
These pants are perfect in fit, fabric and stretch. But they are ruined, as many Patagonia pants are, by the silly thigh pocket. What focus group is telling Patagonia that woman want a little pocket on their thigh? Please stop.
I have had these pants for several years and have worn them back-packing for weeks at a time in all climates (heat, light rain, cold) and also for daily work. I bought these before going hiking in New Zealand and they were perfect. Comfortable and light, not to mention flattering. I usually wear a size 4 but needed a size 2.
I'm a backpacker and these pants were on my body for two week long trips this summer as well as a number of shorter weekend trips. I love these pants - I have an older model as well. My only complaint is the cargo pocket inside the pant leg instead of it being more of a patch on the outside of the pant. It makes it less useful since anything I put in that pocket is encroaching on space I need on the inside for my leg. The same pocket on my older pair (where the pocket is on the outside) can fit phone, knife and lip balm. . . . have them in a pink/red color that I LOVE so I put up with the pocket problem.

These pants are great in my active pursuits. They fit perfectly on my athletic build, and the pocket system is amazing and exactly what I need. These pants would be off the charts if the above happened AND they came in a good green color (like the Hemlock or Industrial greens); in the Bear Brown color; and/or in a camouflage print (maybe deer or bear or eagles or fish shapes in camo colors, like shades of green and tan; or just straight up camo). As someone that needs to blend in to surroundings at times when in the backcountry or when stream/alpine lake fishing,I would definitely buy the Quandary pants in those colorways for high alpine pursuits.
