Men's Iron Forge Hemp® Canvas Insulated Overalls - Regular

Great overalls however..

I use these for work and I love these overalls. However there is a major design flaw with the clips on the suspender buckles breaking. One of the clips broke while I was bending over. I temporarily fixed it by zip tying the buckle, which worked great but eventually the other clip broke also. The breaking point (literally) was when the buckle spont... Read Moreaneously snapped in half and I could no longer wear these. Otherwise these are great overalls, they keep me very warm. I'm 5'8 with a slim build, these overalls run a bit large on me, so I was surprised when both clips broke and one of the buckles snapped. I never overtightened the suspenders either.

Warm and roomie

The hemp outer is extremely confidence inspiring! The insulation and breathability and easy off/on are a big win. the legs are a bit fuller than need be but may be nice with more layers. Warm, comfortable, relaxed

I bought these overalls after considerable research and trying many pairs on. The price difference between these and some of the staples on the market like Carhartt or Dickies or Duluth trading is right on point, maybe 20 bucks more expensive. I bought them primarily for working in the woods, hiking trails, cutting and splitting wood, or hanging ar... Read Moreound a bonfire. So far I can say these are pretty warm when worn with even just a light layer like jeans or joggers underneath. I haven't had a chance to use them in extreme cold yet, but they have met the needs down into the low 20s and high teens. As several other reviews highlight, I would say the legs run a little long. I am 5'10 and they fit fine over work boots and winter boots. It feels like the legs could be a little shorter and the mid section a little longer. That said, once footwear is on they're fine. I put on a few extra pounds and gotten a little chubby since COVID so I was unsure if medium would fit the bill. At 190 lb I can tell you the medium fits fine even with a thick base layer underneath. Perhaps just a little snug at the middle seam right at your midsection. I have found that it actually stretches out okay, and there are two buttons that could be used to loosen if needed. Frankly, I love these things, they are super comfortable, relaxed fabric feels totally broken in. They have additional abrasion resistant fabric in all the right places. If you're looking at all the regular insulated work overalls out there, these are worth looking into.

Semi-Arctic overalls!!

Exactly what I was looking for ! Durable, flexible, warm. Any cold climate work or lounging- this is my go to. Skip the stiff workwear - get these. Sizing chart was accurate.

Heavy Duty Winter Time Workwear

I read other reviews and went with the Medium-Short as suggested, and so glad I did. At 5'11" these still cover the tops of my winter boots but don't drag on the ground. These are clearly very well made bibs and have the perfect amount of insulation, feel broken-in while brand new, and I love the additional reinforcement on the lower... Read More legs and seat. The chest pockets are useful without being over the top, the zip pocket perfectly fits a modern sized phone vertically or horizontally. I have been doing farm chores in mine with a light layer underneath and a wool jacket over...slinging feed, stacking firewood, working on machines all is very comfortable and convenient. The waterproofing on the lower legs is especially nice when you're filling water tanks or pick up some muck in stalls you just wipe it or spray it right off. My only gripe is this: the boot cut bottoms are comically oversized...like sleeve of wizard. I'm sure the argument is to be able to slide on over boots but they're so large that they let drafts up the leg on a quad or snow machine, couldn't you add some sort of adjustment strap like Fjallraven Vidda trousers have? Otherwise, I'm fairly confident this may be the last pair of winter bibs I buy...they're practically bombproof. Well done.

Everything I hoped for!

The first pair I got were a medium and they were way to big. The smalls fit perfect even over a pair of pants. I love everything about them. Warm, comfortable, and tough as hell!

Im a union dredge boater and these are the best damn insulated bibs Ive ever worn. And we get dirty; rust, grease, oil, salt, mud, dirt, and even bir... Read Mored crap, these bibs handle it all. Most other brands insulated bibs wont last more than one or two winter seasons, including Carhartt but I see no end in sight for mine. Im leaving these a 5 star review because theyre just so much better than everything else Ive wore but thats not to say theyre completely without flaw. Im about 185lbs and 510, I bought mine in a size L-Short and theyre still just slightly longer than I feel they should be. Even over my bulky Muck boots the ends will drag just behind my heels sometimes if I dont have the suspenders tightened all the way up, causing them to fray at the bottom. Which brings me to the next issue, the adjustable suspenders will slip a bit throughout my 12hr shifts, usually an inch or so. I think if the triglide buckles were tighter or the elastic straps were thicker it would solve these issues for me. However, even with the short inseam they're just barely short enough for me which makes me imagine they wouldnt be a good pair of bibs for anyone 58 and under. I thought about having them hemmed by a tailor but thats probably not realistic with the location of the leg zippers. The damage isnt bad though, so my intentions at this time are to just sew a reinforced layer around the back of the foot holes at the end of the season. At the end of the day if youre 510 or taller Im not so sure you can buy a better pair of insulated work bibs. Theyre worth every cent and I regularly recommend them to everyone at work.

So close to amazing but sizing is bad

Most of my adult life, medium is what I wear and in some things I wear large. When the bibs arrived I instantly put them on and was shocked how huge they are. Walking around the house for a bit the ... Read Morelong legs were tripping me up and the bagginess in the calves was way more then necessary, I could fit my muck boots in them and there was still lots of material. Around the waist was also really big, you can easily wear puffy down under layers. Given how big everything was and reading other reviews I decided to exchange for a small. They arrived and unsurprisingly I wouldn't want them to be any longer as they are also long. But unfortunately the waist is small and moving around in them it is too tight. Otherwise they would have been great. I am 5'11 165lbs. Given the large investment in these I think I am going to go refund and sadly have to go to another brand.

I say all this to say, if I had known they would be this good of quality I would have paid for two in a heartbeat. They first item I bought from this amazing company was a sweater, and its still the most worn article of clothes I own. I cant wait to send it in to be hemmed from all the love it has been given. Nice bibs, weak QC

Out of the bag left side suspender was missing the crimp at the bottom of the clasp. I used a piece of tip-up line to keep the clasp from coming off the button. Read Moreke into two pieces. I would think the quality control process should have picked up on the missing hardware. Maybe the missing crimp was just a fluke thing and the hardware broke because of me, who knows. The elastic in the suspenders is already stretched out and gives me the feeling they arent going to last too long for me without the suspenders looking like the waistband from a 15 year old pair of underwear. The nylon on the knees doesnt really come up high enough to cover my knees until I kneel down and then the seam is right over my knee cap. Thats ok out fishing or working in the snow but when you start kneeling on concrete or other hard surfaces it doesnt feel great. On the positive side the nylon on these bibs makes them great around ice and snow. You can work outside all day in the snow and not have ice hanging all over your bibs. Sawdust also brushes right off the nylon which is a huge plus. Insulation is great. Pocket placement and layout is awesome. Hand warmer pocket is a great idea. Leg zips are the right height and seem to work good even in the cold. Leg opening is just the right size to fit over a range of boots without being too big. Overall the bibs arent bad aside from the suspenders and the nylon double knee not coming up high enough for my liking. Personally Id like it if the bottom snap on the leg was a button so you could get it apart even when you get water on you that freezes that snap solid.

Warm, well made overalls. Leg length runs long and wide which is probably fine when used with snow boots. For work wear it would be better to have more hemp canvas and less plastic cloth. Strap adjusters constantly slip.

These are very sturdy work

These are very sturdy work bibs. I’m 5’ 11”, weighing 180, with a 32” waist and the medium regular fits well over all my winter layers.

'Ready to work!

Pretty dang sweet overalls/bibs. Very comfortable, and warm. I am looking forward to seeing how they hold up/wear, but they seem pretty burly...especially with the nylon on the high wear areas. So far, the best overalls I have ever owned. I am a 32 waist, 30 inseam...ordered the medium, but had to return and get the medium short. The bottoms of the... Read More legs are a little baggy, but could accommodate a variety of boots. 'Haven't been able to test them out at -20, but worked several full days in the single digits and teens with no problem...they fit well over your everyday attire/warm layers and boots. The cut provides a good range of motion while wearing a tool belt or warm jacket. They have become my new winter uniform!

Excellent quality, but runs long

Excellent coveralls but I had to purchase a small since they were so long. I'm 5-11" @ 160lbs and typically run 31w x 32l. The medium was too long, and the small fit perfect. Any bigger on the waist than 32 and you'll need a medium.

Durable comfort

Surprised at how such a durable material is so unrestrictive and comfortable.

Fantastic quality!

For reference I am not a small dude, coming in at 6ft-4inches and 249lbs. I decided to purchase the large regular fit, as someone mentioned in their review that they come in a little bigger fit. I am a union carpenter in Alaska and was in dire need of some new insulated overalls for the winter. Needless to say these are fantastic! The fit and feel ... Read Morerival Carhartt, which I am use to. An XL probably would have been fine but I don't like baggy clothes so I am glad I went with the large. I would definitely say go for a size down if you are short and weigh less than me though. If you don't have thick thighs these might be too loose for you as well. I gotta say I was skeptical at first but I love the feel of the Hemp as it is much less stiff and thick likedenim but also feels just as durable. I love the front zip pouch and pockets design. My pencil and phone both fit nice and snug on chest pouches. The shin and butt water resistant material also is a godsend for working in snow and rain. Hammer loop and back pocket for my speed square is also quite handy when not wearing my bags. Overall I am so glad to own these and also support Patagonia's business practices and culture. Thank you for making workline clothes and thank you cor designing these to also fit the larger demographic of human sizes! Just buy a pair already ;)

Great Bibs

Bought these for working out in the cold around the house; so far so good. Very warm (haven't had to wear any base layer bottoms) and the feel is awesome.

Amazing Overalls, True to sizing but little long for 5'11" (large)

Man I love these. Warm, durable and comfortable out of the box. I have to roll them up once to keep them from dragging the ground. I might order the "short" - 30" inseam - if I had to do it over again. I am 5'11" tall but overall I could not be more happy. I have owned a lot of overalls in my day these are the best I have e... Love the Iron Forge Hemp Overalls!!

We pressed 500 gallons of cider in these sharp new coveralls replacing my old pair that I worked in for at least 10 years. Excited to be covered in Patagonia Hemp for the next 10+ years!!! They are comfortable, and warm, and with the confidence of strength they emulate.....I'm a happier worker!! thanks Patagonia for making these for the worker... Read More in all of us!!

Fit is good, no issues. Seems to be made very well. Lots of thought went into the design - small design touches like the loop to hang them by instead of by the straps will help them last even longer.

They great. Take working in

They great. Take working in the snow to a better place. Bought them for my staff.

I love these coveralls. Pockets in all the right places, and tough as nails. Very warm.

Wood Cutter

The bib coveralls were very well designed and fit well. they will be put to the test because the user cuts trees for a living. It would be even better to include snaps for Kevlar leg liners to protect against chain saw accidents.

Legs Run Long

These are very nice overalls but note that the legs run long. The large fits me well with room to layer underneath. However, the legs drag on the ground even with the shoulder straps cinched all the way up and with cowboy boots on. I will need to return these for the short. For reference, I wear a 32 inseam in jeans with no problems but these are w... Read Moreay too long.

Thank you for your feedback, and we're sorry to hear that the inseam was too long on these for you! We went ahead and reached out privately to follow up with return instructions.

One of a kind!!!!!

These hemp overalls are truly the best I have ever owned hands down. Patagonia once again hits it out of the park especially with their earth concerns and footprint they leave on it.

Runs a little big

These were a little longer and wider then I expected. I usually order a size large but decided to get a medium this time. The medium is closer to a large IMO. Really happy with them otherwise
