I wore these shorts for 4 months straight while thru hiking the PCT. Never had a problem with the fabric rubbing. I loved how fast they dried. I could rinse them in a lake or downstream a water source and start walking in them right away without a rash or discomfort from wet clothing! They are super comfortable, barely notice them touching you!
I like the shorts for the most part. I like the print and the fit. They're comfortable for longer hikes. The thing I don't like is the zippers on the pockets. I bought because of that feature. I sometimes run for portions of my hikes and like that I could keep things in my pockets and zip them up and not worry about items falling out. How... Hi Kayla, thank you for your review of the Women's Multi Trails Shorts. We are sorry to hear that the zippers keep getting stuck! The most common reason zippers get stuck is that dirt and debris often lodges in the zipper slider. Check out this video on how to [Lubricate a Zipper](https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/How+to+Lubricate+a+Zipper/19450). If the zippers continue to still get stuck, you are always welcome to do a warranty return.

I live in these shorts!
I recently added two more pairs of these shorts to my wardrobe. They are absolutely hands down my favorite "do it all" shorts. The two zippered pockets are great for stashing items on a run, the snap pocket in the back fits a phone perfectly. They dry very quickly, making them a great travel short. I do a lot of trail running in them and ... Read Morethey have proven to hold up to the abuse. My only issue is that the lighter colors show the sweat through the fabric. I haven't worn shorts in years to run because of chafing. I've stuck explicitly to biker shorts. A friend recommended these shorts to me, and I now swear by them. The inseam and fit are awesome. Read Morert department, but these are a great fit at a medium for my build. I could probably do a small for the waist, but the medium for my thighs is perfect. They've got a drawstring to make up for the give in the waist. I've gone on long hikes, runs, and alpine adventures in these shorts and have yet to chafe. They're awesome. I'll wear them forever! Do yourself a favor and get a pair!
My new favorite! They're just the right length on the leg. Material is silky and smooth. I took one star off because I wish they sat a little bit higher on the waste. Ultimately, though, they're the most comfortable shorts I've ever owned.
I love these shorts so much, I bought two (so far). They are forgiving in the size by having a drawstring cord. The length of the short is not too short and not ridiculously long either.
I originally ordered a medium and it was way too tight across the hips. I exchanged for a large and it's pretty baggy - I have to cinch the waist pretty tight. Wish there was an in between size. Otherwise they are the normal patagonia quality - soft and comfy.
We appreciate your feedback on these Regular Fit trail running shorts. We do offer a liner-less [Trailfarer Short](https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-trailfarer-shorts-4-half-inch/57535.html) that you might wish to try. Thanks for taking a moment to send us a valuable review, Christina!

Perfect length
Fit is true and print is fun. Grateful for reasonable length shorts.
Love these shorts! Super light weight and incredibly comfortable! I feel they run a tad large but still fit comfortably. I got XS and still have a bit of room! Im 5-2 and 125 lbs. GREAT for packing light and travel! Would definitely buy again.
Just what I was looking for to play pickleball but I find that I'm just wearing them every day because they are so comfy and cool on hot days. I'm 5'7" 130 lbs and a medium fits fine. After rubbing up against these shorts in REI for the last year, I finally bit the bullet and ordered a pair. My gosh, do I feel incredible in them. The texture is inSANE. Luxury to the max. Love the zippered front pockets, and lightweight, breathable feel. The mauve color is gorgeous, to boot.
I love these shorts. Sized up bc I have a booty. The fabric is so incredibly soft and comfortable. I wore them for a circuit workout and was actually able to run in them without them riding up too terribly. Dried super quick after my workup. Also comfortable for casual wear. Would definitely buy again.
I bought a pair in green and loved them so much I bought them in mauve. The pockets are large and zip so you can put a lot in them, and the stuff won't fall out. The material is soft and comfortable. Super light weight and a nice length that doesnt ride up when running. The liner undies are a good full coverage which adds to the comfort, overall a great running short!
These are great hiking/walking shorts! Like the soft light weight fabric and that the print is a pattern. They look great even when the hike involves some climbing along on dusty trails along the hike.
I bought a W- Medium but I like longer roomy shorts to wear over compression shorts if needed.
Shirts are great. It is very difficult to find womans shorts with liner. These are well made. Patagonia should also consider there are women who also prefer longer shorts. I also live in these shorts around the house. You can't go wrong with them!
Super comfortable and fabric offers flexibility with whatever you are doing. Fabric is exceptional for different kinds of weather especially hot and humid days. Multiple deep pockets. Nice fit.
These are nice shorts, but the Nine Trails 6" were better for running
I was hoping that these shorts would be like the Patagonia Nine Trails 6" shorts, which I love ( I also have the Nine Trails 4", and love those, too). The pocket is located in the middle upper back of the shorts so the weight of whatever you put in there isn't dragging down to one side or the other. The MultiTrails has one pocket on the back right, that is not zippered. It also has two side zippered pockets which puts the contents on top of your thighs, which in my opinion isn't the best spot for running. Even when empty, there's a lot of fabric there. I imagine this pocket location would be better for hiking/backpacking when you might have a pack on. However, when hiking/backpacking, I prefer a short without a liner, so I can choose to wear either a swim bottom or underwear. Overall, these are nice shorts, but not what I was looking for in a running short. Please bring back the Nine Trails or something similar!
I needed to replace my really old running shorts for some years now and finally bought a couple pairs of the Multi Trails Shorts. Sad to see yet again the drop in quality in comparison to earlier versions. Specifically, the elastic around the liner is very weak, just like the latest versions of the underwear. Used to be my 'go to' but will have to find an alternative.

Best shorts
These quickly became my favorite shorts. They're so soft and light that it feels like I'm not wearing anything. I work in my shop with no ac and these are by far my coolest shorts. I just hope they continue this line and add more colors and patterns.
I haven't bought Patagonia bottoms (shorts or pants) in years as they usually were not cut for my shorter curvy stature, however I took a gamble on these and am very glad I did! They fit well, true to size and the length is perfect! Very happy to have a great pair of shorts for running and hiking in hot weather.
These are the best shorts ever, especially for running! Best pockets, no chafing, great fabric, great fit that can be dialed in with the drawstring! I bought mens shorts for years just for the pockets until these came along. Thank you, Patagonia!
I almost never write product reviews, but these shorts are too good not to. I have ran as far as a 60k in them so far and would reach for them in any distance. They are not a Shortney, but they also wont ride up your butt all day.
We're glad to hear you felt compelled to send us your feedback on the shorts! We welcome product reviews that address any positive or negative aspects of fit, sizing, features, comfort, fabric, performance and function. Thanks for taking a moment to send us a review, Laura!

Hands down, these are my favorite shorts! It's hard to find women's shorts that are not super tight or super short. These are just the perfect length and perfect material. The fabric is amazing, the pockets are *perfect* and the liner fits just right. Although the 4.5 inch inseam is bearable, as someone who is 5 feet 3 in, I would love the option for a shorter inseam. As long as it does not compromise the pockets!! I have several pairs already and would love more color/pattern options.
I know one is not supposed to love objects, but I unapologetically love these shorts. They are lightweight, long enough without being too long, and best of all they have deep pockets WITH zippers! My New Favs
Wow, I love all the pockets. The front pockets come with a zipper and the back pocket has a snap. Very nice. Soft material against the skin. Cant wait to put them through the paces.
At first, I was very excited about these & the fit. Love the zippered pockets. After less than 1 day of normal use (working out, casual wear) the fabric started to pill on the back. Fabric is very light & sensitive, be aware!

I purchased these along with the Trailfarer shorts and I prefer the fit of these better. The liner helps the shorts sit exactly where they're supposed to (little under the belly button).
