Have had them for over two years and I'm pretty disappointed with them.
I'm 5'10" 170 and very active (lifting and biking mostly)
Sorry to be a Karen, but these shorts really do make me angry whenever I wear them lol.
My issues with them:
-Material has absolutely zero give
-Small leg opening at bottom gets stuck on quads

-Crotch is very low (bad for full ROM and ALWAYS gets stuck on bike seat when standing up and leaning back)
-Too long (I wear 30-31" pants and I find these shorts are like an inch too long)
The combination of low crotch, long length, and small leg opening makes these shorts extremely hindering when trying to utilize full ROM with your legs.
Sizing up to a large doesn't work either they just get super baggy and weird on me.
What I DO like is that they are well made.
I seriously wish I could get my money back though.

Seriously comfortable but needs back pocket
These shorts are an absolute joy to wear since they have a bit of stretch to them. Also, if you’re in the skinny leg club, this is the model of baggies for you since they have a slimmer fit (much better than the older baggies that are like parachutes on your legs). My only complaint is that there’s no back pocket at all which is a serious problem w... Read Morehen you need to live in your shorts. This means that your wallet goes in the front pocket which is bulky and in the way. Additionally, if you’re one of the weird people like me who keeps a clipped pocket knife in your back pocket, it has to go in the front pocket. Slim/stretchy baggies need a pocket for these to be the ultimate shorts. If you use a fanny pack this is a non-issue I suppose.
The perfect length for me, light material with good stretch. Prefer this fit over the shorter baggies. Not in love with the liner since this feels less like a bathing suit hybrid so I just cut my liner out.
Decent shorts, until you put something in the pockets
I own two pairs of original baggies. The baggie light is pretty similar to original baggies, except that it is slightly slimmer, and the pockets are much shallower. The problem that comes with it is that if I have my anything in my pocket, there would be a very obvious bulge. Also, my phone would fall out of the pocket constantly. I definitely reco... Great improved baggies lights
In the past whenever I tried the baggies lights they felt to tight. But with the 5% added spandex it is a game changer. Now they fit great with the perfect material flex where it does not feel constricting. They are my favorite baggies now.
Patagonia add a back pocket like the regular baggies to make them more than perfect!
I have a closet-full of Patagonia clothing, all excellent, well made, well thought-out. I'm a loyal customer.
These shorts are the only item that has disappointed. I am 5-11, 175. The Medium waist fits fine. And the shorts fit fine for standing, walking and sitting.

I bought mine about two years ago -- maybe Patagonia has made them baggier since then. If so I would try another pair, but for now I've quit wearing mine.
Thank you so much for writing this review Bill! We are very sorry to hear about the issues you've encountered with the fit of your shorts. Please note, this new version of our M's Baggies Lights are made with 5% spandex to help with the issue from 2 years ago of the fabric being too tight when bending or squatting.

Best Baggies
These are by far my favorite Baggies. I own a pair of regular Baggies and two of these Lights. Love wearing these when going for a walk, running, swimming, lounging, and bouldering. These fit a little slimmer than regular Baggies, which is why I like them so much.
The only activity I do not find comfortable in these is biking, which is due to the ... Read Moreinterior mesh netting. This has caused me some discomfort at 10 or more miles.
These are great for hiking and pickleball. I wear these under my patrol pants when spring skiing arrives. Very much a typical Patagonia product, incredibly well made.
