These shorts fit perfectly and are so comfy! I've had shorts that I feel way too much because they rub or move around but these were so perfect I didn't even have to pay attention to them.
These shorts are super comfortable. I have four pairs of them. I have a few in a size 8 and a few in a 10. I find both work fine for me. I do prefer the little bit more room in the size 10.
These are my go to summer shorts and I am 67 years old. They are super comfortable, cool, cover my rear and move easily enough to hike in. I would like them to be a little more high waisted because I'm always tying the string to keep them in place. My only other request is please bring back Navy Blue!

These are very well made shorts, light and fast drying. They run a bit big as Im usually a size 2 but had to exchange these for size 0. I got them for hiking but also can wear casually as they look great on, I love they have a drawstring and button. I highly recommend!
Love the fit, the colors are not always representative
I've been wearing Patagonia Quandary shorts for years- love the fit and comfort. Was really excited to see the rosehip color as red bottoms are really in style. The shorts arrived today and they are no where close to color on the site! More of a peachy orange color. Very disappointed in the misrepresentation of the color.
This is the short of all shorts! Yes, it may be a tad tight around my ski-hike-lady quads, and perfect around the waist, but the stretch allows for some great movement. I would buy 3 pairs of these ANY DAY over the Baggies--anything to avoid that nasty huge tight elastic waistband digging into your waist. Way to go Patagonia!
In most Patagonia shorts I am a 4 so was surprised that the 2 fit me correctly. They are super lightweight and stretchy. I wear them to my job outside and the fabric feels great. The length is perfect. I love how they look and they are super functional with pockets. I already want another pair.
I love the fit, how light and comfortable they are in the hot weather and having a choice of the 5 or 7 inch length. I only wish you could get more colors. I'd love the navy blue but they were never in my size last year and now it's a new color this year.
These are flattering, great thin fabric for summer hikes, great color (olive) but the crotch is just cut 1/2 inch too short. It gives you the feelings of a slight permanent wedgie. I dont normally have this type of issue so I think its the shorts, not me. But could be a combo.

These are well made, fit amazingly, and are super comfortable and flattering. I love the stretch in the material and the length. For reference, Im 5ft 4in, 105lb and ordered the size 0.
The whole front of the shorts was not a good fit for someone whos had a c-section. It was just too small. These shorts are made for someone thin with no stomach.

Great relaxed fit
This is the second pair I own. They are so comfortable and move with you. I have gone tubing with these and they dry quickly. I also hang out in them and they are the best especially when it is so hot. I look forward to a third pair when a different color is available.
I'm a fan of these shorts! I've worn them hiking, paddling, and around town. They seem to be rugged enough to hold up to outdoor use, but are also pretty nice-looking for casual wear. Not specifically a swim/board short, but they've worked well in the water and dried pretty quick after taking a plunge off the paddleboard!
Pros: Fabr... Read Moreic is a good weight and breathes well; I like the zipper on the back pocket for stashing keys/bills/etc; the elastic drawstring is easy to tie and untie and provides a more secure fit than some other brands I've tried.
Cons: Front pockets get kind of bunchy and need to be readjusted. An additional pocket or 2- maybe a thigh zip pocket or cargo pocket?- would be nice!
Sizing: I'm 6'1" and ~165 lb. 29" waist, 40" hip (plus or minus a bit depending on the time of year haha). The size 10 fits great! I'm usually between a 10-12, but went with the 10 based on patagonia's size chart and I'm glad I did.
I LOVE these shorts. Ive had them for 2 years, and theyre still going strong! They dont bunch in the thigh, they hold my cell phone, and they dry real fast. Please make more colors - Id love and buy so many more! Maybe a forest or hunter green, or even dark purple color! :)

Like the length, The fit is good, a little roomy, but not too big. I am a size 8 In pants but your shorts a size 10 works better. Love how water dries quickly on the fabric. Thats a plus when you are out on a boat fishing all day!

These shorts are lightweight and comfortable. Suitable for hiking in the 60s and 70s but wouldnt go any hotter. They are an appropriate length for my job, and have a great zipped pocket in the back to keep things safe. The front pockets are roomy enough for a cell phone too!

Love these shorts!
Ordered these for hiking and they are great. Wore them paddle boarding and discovered they are perfect for that too! Dried faster than swim shorts. Ordering more colors now :)
I bought these shorts to wear to work where I am a zip-line guide and they are the most comfortable shorts ever! They are excellent! They wick sweat away and are water resistant!! I will be purchasing many more pairs in the future!
These shirts are super flattering. I feel like I can dress then up or wear them to the river to do some fishing. I love the pockets and quick dry fabric. Also nice that they have a drawstring inside for a more flexible fit. I typically wear an 8 in Patagonia shorts, but the 8 was too large and I returned for a 6.

Bought two pairs of these shorts for a 150 day cruise to the tropics. They were perfect and the ship's laundry did not harm the color or fabric. When we returned, we purchased 2 more pair for another trip. They are comfortable, tidy and dry quickly.

My leg length measured from crotch to a smidge below the bottom of the ankle bone is 31". I am 5'6" with 35.5" hips, 27" waist, and 20" thighs, I purchased a size 2. I've found height and weight and age just don't cut it for me when trying to determine size via reviews, so I like to include specifics to help others make their choice. On me, the shorts are fitted, but not at all tight, if you prefer a looser fit (and a 4 would fall off me) I'd suggest going up a size, I know these will stretch a bit. I am a lean and fit 63 year old, it is nice to find something I feel good in (I usually opt for skorts) and know I can wear about town or on the trail.

Even those were too small! It's such a bummer to ruin a great short with the new fit. These were a 5 star short before they changed the fit...lightweight, soft... Read More, stretchy, dried fast, great for travel and around town, have even taken a spontaneous trail run in them and they held up well.
For reference, the tan ones are the size 8's from last season and the blue ones are size 10 from this season. I tried the Dolomite Blue, Pesto Green, and the Forge Grey...all 3 colors were this same size 10, all 3 colors were too small.
If you drop in on these, size up at least one size from your normal size.
I am 5'5',113 and I bought a size 2. I didn't want them pulling snug across the front like the pic on the model and these fit me perfect. I live in Houston and really appreciate the soft,breathable fabric. They have a little stretch to them which is awesome. As long as they hold up,I will continue buying more of this style.
I'm 5'3" tall,weigh 125 lbs. and have an athletic build. I usually wear a size 4 in Pati gear/clothes. These shorts were too tight all over in size 4.
