Unlike the other two tech web belts I have. This one fits up to size 38 waist and cant be sized down as to the way it is stitched. Im a size 34 waist so a lot of extra overlap.
The belt is wider and of solid material which is fine, but the buckle is much larger than it needs to be and sticks out too much under a shirt. Did not test the bottle open... Read Moreer feature.

I had an older Patagonia belt circa the 2008. It was lost and I ordered this belt not realizing it was 1.5" wide. My old belt was approximately 1". The narrower belt sold by Patagonia now is short and there have been complaints about the length.
The added width of this belt doesn't improve the functionality of the belt, it just adds... Read More weight and bulk. A belt has one job- keep my pants up. These belts never made a fashion statement so need to start now.
My second issue with this belt is the buckle. It is large to accommodate the 1.5" belt. Again, you missed an opportunity to make the buckle more functional by adding a bottle opener (just kidding). The bulk and height of the buckle make it uncomfortable to wear when sitting and may present a snag concern in the field.
Remember the 1st rule when building functional, quality products- KISS.

The only belt you'll ever need
I bought my belt back in 2009, and aside from the logo being embossed now, it's the same exact product. 14 years later and it still works as good as the day I bought it!
No need for a drawn out review of the Tech Webbing Belt. Its simplicity and quality speak for itself. Buckle is sturdy and clean, the webbing is belt loop compatible with just about everything and the length fits a broad range of waistlines. Highly recommend!
Very high quality sturdy buckle that holds snug. I did, of course, have to cut off some of the excess belt to fit my 30" waist but the ends melted easily and it's all good! I feel confident this belt will last and not become loose as other brands have over time. Love this product!
I have ever color of this belt. I fought one for my son and 3 son-in-laws. I am now buying another color on their birthdays.
I also bought one for my grandson in the marines!
I had an earlier version of this belt with a sliding post grip in the buckle that worked fine. Then, I cut it off too short. The store exchanged it for the version you now sell with the toothed grip.
The toothed grip does not grip. I have a size 33 waste and have never had a belt back slide on me, but this one does. Constantly hiking my pants up.

Doesn't stay put
I've had this belt for a little while now and it won't stay tight to save my life. I have to clip it with a paper clip to get it to stay on, otherwise it loosens to the point of falling off.
Not sure if it's flawed but very disappointed in the quality. It seems to be just for show,not holding up your pants.

Difficult to rate
I needed a belt. I wanted one with a flat buckle so that it didn't pooch out in front under my tees and sweaters. This is a fairly heavy duty belt, but it works okay for my purpose, which is casual wear with jeans. I got this belt in the orange color and it looks pretty cool. The buckle feels sturdy and the material of the belt feels top quality as well. I am very happy with this purchase.
Super strong material, made extremely well. This belt is really nice. Love how it looks and how it grips into place securely. The color (orange) is nice and bold which goes with casual pants as well as jeans. I highly recommend it.
I've been eyeing a web belt for a while to use while hiking and chill days at the office, and the Tech Web Belt is perfect. Great color and strength. Even though the length is longer than I need, it stays in place when tucked.
The belt is way too wide and will Not fit the loops on most of my pants. Latching Design is fine. Also one size fits all is not great. I have about 6-7 inches hanging on the few pants I can wear it with

A belt designed to come loose
The belt comes loose while wearing it. It looks nice, but it's poorly designed and thus useless for holding your pants up.

Awesome belt for everyday wear. The belt goes with anything and it does its job well. Very pleased.
I have exclusively worn the web belts since 2011, and they were unbeatable. Last year I picked up a new color, and the new one was much thinner than the others I had in years past, and it loosens every time I sit down and stand to walk again, so I stopped wearing it. Solid belt
I'm vegan so I like that is is just the recycled materials. Only a little bit more bulk than the friction belt, but feels much more burly and durable. The friction belt started fraying a little bit after about a year of wear, I think this tech web belt will hold up better. Pretty much just does what I want it to and stays out of the way. Quick... I bought this belt 16 years ago in NYC, and at the time I scoffed at the price. I have literally worn it every single day since the , and it still has years left in it. Updating to a new color now, I'll probably keep this one for working or utility.

Received as a gift and highly satisfied with the quality of this belt. It is one size, so may need to be adjusted for perfect fit. I trimmed a bit with a hot rope knife and expect to be wearing it for years to come!
It took me an embarrassingly long time how to figure out the latching mechanism, but once I got that sorted this has become my favorite belt. I wore it to a wedding and it works just as well on the trail or any situation.

Pair it with Iron Forge Hemp
Belt stays cinched with one pull, and my Iron Forge Hemp pants are secure for an afternoon making wood or a day of chair evac training.
The buckle, while hefty and nice, didnt close and hold nicely like the cheaper cloth ones of similar style. It is also too long and hangs out way past the next loop. Probably going to return it.

Material Expands When Wet
So, over all I like the belt. I've had this belt for 6 years now. The material is super durable, & the craftsmanship is great. I notice right off that when the belt gets wet, it can lengthen up to 2 inches which is a lot. It's a little annoying but not a deal breaker as the belt can be tightened easily. Great belt/strap with a comfortable easy to secure tooth buckle. Like that insurance ad,

I have about 5 of these belts. They all are excellent belts. The first 2 were purchased about 7 or 8 years ago. I thought they were great until I bought 2 more about 4 years ago. Hold'em Up, Great Belt
Just bought my second tech web belt but not my last. Color is spot on for what I wanted. Length is enough but not too much and the material is sturdy but not rigid.
This is my second tech belt. Love the design, love the buckle. Haven't had the opportunity to open a bottle with it yet. I wear a 38 inch waist Patagonia pants and the belt is borderline too short. Please make the belt a couple of inches linger or offer it in sizes. Otherwise awesome product.
No belt seems to be perfect but, the tech web belt might actually be the exception to the rule. The teeth on the buckle prevent the webbing from loosening during the day and keep my pants from falling down. Amazing :-). I love this belt. I have an identical belt in a different color that I bought years ago. The only difference that I can see is that this one runs smaller. There is a s only one size available. I was looking for a belt on other sites but stumbled across this one when I stopped in for other items. It is now my daily belt and I ordered a second one to cover my up scale moments. Good quality and appears to be durable.
So over the years I have had a number of these same Patagonia belts and still use them. This new version webbing is approximately 1/2 the thickness of the old version and slips through the buckle. Very unfortunate as the old versions were virtually indestructible Patagonia bombproof.

All around great belt
These belts are top notch and because they are moderately priced you can buy a variety of colors to mix and match with whatever you are wearing. I like the width of the belt too (2"?) as it allows you to really snug the belt up when your pockets are full of gear/tools without it being uncomfortable.
My recent purchase makes a total of three Tech Web Belts I own. They are always the right size and always ready to meet the day. In fact Tech Web Belts are my most reliable pieces of clothing.
Are you tired of buying belts that DON"T fit? if you are this is the belt for you! I love these belt so much I have 5 of them one in each of my favorite color. Are body dimensions change and this belt never makes you feel guilty for another Oreo cookie just loosen it.
Ive enjoyed the same belt for about 6 years and it was tired. I purchased two new colorful belts but they do t perform as well. They simply do not hold their position. The belt slips. Not good.
This is my second Patagonia webbing belt and unfortunately it doesn't work nearly as well as the older model I had. The webbing is much thinner and does not cinch properly causing it routinely slip. I miss the old one; not sure what happened to it, but they should return to the thicker webbing
Belt webbing width is perfect.
1st belt buckle loop holds well while you do the final, 2nd a loop bit with the tag end.
There was 4-5 extra belt so I heated up a copper wire and cut off the excess. Would by more if they came in an assortment of colors.

Nice casual belt
great belt, once set it stays tight. only complaint is the fused end can be a little abrasive if there's no loop to hold it down
I have used a Patagonia Webbing belt almost daily for the past few years. This one was just to mix up colors a bit. Holds your pants up, it's tough, works well, simple, and clean looking. What's not to like?
I own 3 different colors but I lost my black one during a move. This is a replacement. Owns the others for 10+ years. I would highly recommend-extremely durable.

I bought this belt for my husband. He needed something that could accommodate his losing weight and getting in shape. this belt is perfect because it is endlessly adjustable to the perfect size.

Runs Small
This was purchased for my son with a 38-40" waist. I debated if I would sent it since felt like it would be too tight - maybe include a bit more webbing ?
Very solid construction
Only complaint is that it slips. Even doubling the tail back through the buckle doesnt stop slippage. I would give it a solid 5 stars if it held securely.
I did purchase a lot of belts of the years. This is one of the few that really works. Many of the "friction" belts I had in the past did not arrest the belt strap correctly. Those one does it perfect. It looks great and is of highest quality. Highly recommended.
I purchased a belt in the color Red 2 years ago,... was not offered this time. Purchased Black, and separately a Blue Belt. Would like to see the Red as an option.
Some simple improvements could make this belt great.

I have a black. 2 tan and a grey belt all from Patagonia. Great fit, easily adjustable. I love it is made from recycled materials. I love this belt and the awesome SERVICE Patagonia provides. They care about their customers. It keeps me coming back.
It runs a little long (I am a size 34 waist), so you likely need to cut it down to size. When you do so, its a little hard to keep the end from fraying, even after searing the edge with a lighter.
I started with one then bought another two shortly there after. The belting is excellent in quality. The hand feel, thickness and vibrancy in color dyes are all above average. The buckle is light weight and reasonably shaped for casual wear. They roll up nicely and stow away easily. Personally, I wish would expand the collection and offer more.

The buckle on this belt is perfect, giving fully adjustable and sturdy grip. But the finish on the belt end is very sharp against your bare skin (if you dont tuck in a shirt) and Ive had to take the dremel to it to sand off the sharp edge (and now Im concerned its going to fray). Just be prepared to adjust the belt end.
Great looking belt, BUT the buckles does not hold. I am 6 2 and wear a size 34 waist so it is not like I am straining the belt. I tried many ways to make it work and it would not stay. A belt is not working if you have to tighten it every 5 minutes.

I'm a women's size 16. I was worried it wasn't going to fit but it fits perfectly. Already my favorite belt! I can tell. I work as a machine operator and constantly moving. The belts flexibility and soft material makes it comfortable to work in! Hope they never discontinue this belt in case I need another in the future.
I returned this belt because it felt too heavy for me. If you need something to hold tools or just like a more substantial belt this is good. I prefer the lighter friction belt.

Bought this to wear with jeans, shorts, and other casual clothes. Looks nice but like others that have reviewed this item, it has issues gripping and holding tension. Its like the belt webbing is a little too slick & the teeth on the buckle are not quite sharp enough. I would not buy this belt again.
This belt is functional. I use it for ski/snowboarding and it eliminates from being soaked as my leather belts I used to wear while ski/snowboarding. I use it for traveling and it works great! I've had several of these belts and this last one I received with the new engraved buckle was an inch shorter than it says on the website and an inch shorter than my other tech web belts. It's not a big deal, but it's noticeable. Not sure if mine was a fluke or if that's how they are now. Otherwise... A great belt.

Accomplishes the goal
I wanted something nondescript and durable that I could wear through all activities, including work. Works well and I love that its fair trade/recycled. Was very easy to shorten with sharp fabric scissors and melted the end with a lighter to secure.
I like the belt very much; it stays at the size you set. I dont like that its only got progressively thinner over the years. It doesnt feel as substantial.
Fits perfectly, will last forever and you can open beer bottles with the buckle, although I m a wine drinker. My go to belt every day. Do not hesitate to purchase.

This is the only belt Ive ever owned that doesnt stretch and loosen throughout the day at full belt loop width its a little bigger than I had hoped for but finally I have a belt that stays where I tighten it to
Great belt, wear it daily. The webbing material is very strong and tough while also smooth to the touch. The recycled aluminum buckle is smooth, not too bulky, and holds really well, although it does bite into the webbing a bit which seems to leave some minor marks over time. All said it's what I was looking for and highly recommended.
I agree with other review, would be great if it worked. I where belts everyday and work as a farmer every day.. just doesn't stay cinched period. It will work to hold something some where on the farm, but not as a belt.

Holds fast
The web is strong and flexible, and the clasp holds great. Easy to cut to desired length and reseal the end.
Purchased as an alternative to my normal leather belt, it does the job very well. No issues with the buckle, very pleased with how it stays tight throughout the day, have not noticed any slipping. Ive had this belt for about 4 months ago. I love the look and feel of it. I wear it every day. Unfortunately, its really frustrating to wear when you are active. It slips and has to be retightened every 5-10 minutes.
Thanks for sharing your frustrations about this belt. We suggest either doubling it back on itself or flipping the buckle over and trying it backwards so the teeth grab better.
