It is certainly very large but excellently designed. It will end up being used by multiple kids. Bought for granddaughter. Our kids used the last generation which got passed on to several other kids. If you amortize the cost over the number of kids who will use it, Patagonia is practically giving them away; plus you get warm happy kids.

Love it, but it really is crazy big
My son is pretty massive. Hes above the 100th percentile in all categories. His little dot is just chilling above the graph.
This was wayyy too big on him. Im completely content with that because I want it to last but if you would be disappointed by that I might even suggest ordering a size down.

Love this thing! This snowsuit keeps my little one warm during these cold winter mornings on our way to daycare! She absolutely loves it too and has fallen asleep in it. Looks so cozy :) Also, Patagonia's customer service is absolutely amazing.
Received this as a gift for our daughter. The 12-18 month is still a bit large for her, even with some room to grow in it, but it doesn't hinder her movement. We purchased this item and the Northface equivalent in size 6-12 months for our daughter, who is 11 months but on the small side. The Northface fit fine but the Patagonia was insanely large. We bought this in blue the winter our son was about 9 months old in the 6-12 month size. It was way too big - about twice as large as he was (and my son has been around 90%ile for height since birth). However it was the perfect toddler snowsuit the next winter, and we still get use out of it as a backup now that he is a little over 2.5 years old. D... Even though this suit is very expensive my son wore the 6-12 month version until he was two and it fit well and kept him super warm. Just purchased this last available size in this suit for him to use the next two years. Hes always snug and warm in this suit in the Montana winter!
Horrible fit, completely off on sizing. Bought this for my newborn to get through the winter however, the bunting suit could fit a 6 month old. Unsure why 0-3 months would be listed an as option when its not actually made for a 0-3 month old.
This suit keeps our 7 month old plenty warm. He sleeps in it when we camp during the winter months, as well as wears it comfortably for daytime outdoor recreation. It is, as other reviewers have mentioned quite large, but I believe its been made that way with a functional purpose in mind. Our son is in the 98% for weight and height and at 7 months ... The only reason Im not giving this review a five star rating is due to the material being barely water resistant. We live in the PNW and the famed incessant rain is no joke. Since this suit is clearly meant to be an outermost layer, Id like to see Patagonia improve its water resistance.
In review, we love this garment and are thankful for it. Well keep it for babes to come, and pass it on to another family further down the road. It deserves a long life of full use.
I love these bunting suits. This is the 2nd one I purchased for my son. Hes 18 months and in the 85% percentile for height and weight. Hes still wearing his 6-12 month suit. Hi Martina, we're so sorry to hear about the sizing issues with the Infant Hi-Loft Down Sweater Bunting. Buntings do tend to run on the large side to accommodate for layering as well as some growing room, because kiddos grow so quickly.

Huge
My daughter fits in larger than her size clothes so I purchased the 12-18 months - too big. Then I purchased the 6-12 months since she fits in 9-12 clothes and its huge still. Im hoping 3-6 months becomes available to I can try that one before our trip.
A friend lent us their 0-3 month bunting, which lasted my baby until 6 months. We loved the warmth and style, and decided to order another. Love the quality of Patagonia baby buntings - so warm and so well made. They run a little long, which as I understand helps with the insulation, keeping baby toasty warm. As a bonus, I found that I could use a little past the stated age.
I have two older kids and we are outside all the time in Vermont. I always buy Patagonia. This one was a disappointment. Within 30 minutes my 9 month old was soaking wet. Going to try and return as it does not withstand snow weather which is like 6 months out of the year.
We arent the sit around and watch winter go by kind of people, so we needed a way to keep our latest addition to the party warm on our adventures. This bunting is toasty warm, all cuffs roll over to keep little hands and toes inside and the cold out! My wife wishes they made one in her size!
Great suit but not durable enough for a pre-schooler
We have this suit in 4 sizes from 0-3 to 18-24 and we've always loved it (obviously, we kept purchasing bigger sizes). However our first son really did a number on the knees and bum of the 18-24 (at 3.5 years) and now our second is starting to wear through the knees and bum (at 2.5 years). My only other complain is that it's not waterproof so it's good for skiing, stroller-ing and cold weather but not ideal when it's mild out. In cold rain we have put a rain suit over it. My recommendation for kids past two would be the Baby Snow Pile (which our first son is in now and it's perfect).
We bought something like this from Patagonia 35 years ago for our son. We gave this pink suit to our new granddaughter, his daughter, on Christmas. You never let us down.

We bought this bunting when we moved to Germany for the cold hiking days/snow days and it is absolutely amazing! I bought this last year for my six month old. Hearing it runs large, I ordered 0-3month to be safe. I underestimated how large this could really be. Bunting is a very nice
Bunting is a very nice product...warm, well made but it really runs large. 20 pound, 9 month old fit in 6 to 12 month with plenty of room to grow. Might even fit next year.

Thanks, Patagonia!
Sizing super off and not practical to take on and off
The quality seems great and it seems to keep our 6 mo. old very warm. However, the sizing is WAY off (we use the 3-6mo size and our 6 mo old wears 9-12 mo in every other piece of clothing). The way it is designed (two zippers that don't go down far enough) also makes it very hard to take on and off which is a huge pain.
I don't know who is in charge of sizing, but all of the reviews say the same thing. I bought my 19 month old son a size 18-24 and he is SWIMMING in it. It might be too big for him next year! I had to send it back which is a shame because it is a perfect looking warm suit but the sizing has lost my business.
Size.At six months my baby is 75cm long. So 6-12 which normally runs big on other babies is good for us. The hands and feet are long but I don’t mind folding them it has a nice inside color.
Warmth: we live in upstate NY so we need something warm for winter and so far it’s pretty warm, it hasn’t been tasted on real cold yet but it’s not thin. I al... Read Moreso ordered one bunting from North Face that one is smaller but the design on this one wins, 1 it’s pretty 2 it’s got two zippers which I was looking for because in the car you can easily open them so the baby don’t overheat. What I don’t like is that it doesn’t have gloves like other bunting for baby have. I wish I could add a picture so you can see how it looks like in real life. First I got the navy color but it’s just too dark for a baby. The light green is just amazing.
This is adorable and looks super well-made and cozy... I just cannot get the sizing right for my 9-month old girl who is in the 80th percentile for weight/ and 99th for height.... knowing it ran big,I still bought the 6-12 month bunting b/c it's expensive... I hated to buy something too small (or on the edge of small). The bunting was HUGE (li... Read Moreke ridiculously big). Returned for a 3-6 month size and it barely fits - no room to spare. I guess we are between sizes? Returning my second one..... Now trying 2 other brands. Bummer. Baby is about 20 lbs and quite long/tall..... Love all my other Patagonia baby stuff... find it mostly does run on the bigger side.
We bought a 6-12 month for our daughter and we were excited to be able to use it from when she was 9-months to two years. With the mittens and boots that flip over this kept our daughter warm and was well worth the money. My only complaint is that for a company that encourages re-use I would love to see gender neutral colours and patterns. I feel s... I bought the 6-12 month for my 7 month old who is in the 90% percentile in height and there is no way it would fit her for at least another year,so I had to downsize to the 3-6 month. I have found all Patagonia baby clothes run very large.
