Patagonia Baby Capilene® Midweight Bottoms

October 25, 2021

We keep putting our son in these. Often used. This round new. He is just a little over 2 years old and We got the 3 t. Wish I had sized up to the 4t for him as the 3t fit perfectly now. I like them baggy so they last longer. He has a strong build so I imagine this is why they fit as they do.

Cozy and Warm

My daughter found that these fit great under her trousers and kept her warm and cozy at forest school today. Imagine they will become her go to for hiking, forest school and snow fun this winter.

New weave snags easily!

We have been huge fans of Patagonia base layers and fleece for our two active boys -- not exaggerating, they wear the base layers almost daily, year-round. The old, smooth-woven fabric held up incredibly! We buy two sets in each size, and by the time they're passed down to little bro, there's some cosmetic fading and maybe some mild pilli... Read Moreng. We've tried other brands, and Patagonia's quality won out every time. Earlier today, I caught sight of my older son's newest pair of Capilene pants - received 2 weeks ago! - and saw that the fabric already has multiple pulls in the knees and thigh area. His younger brother had only worn his new pants once or twice because they're a little big, and his also already have a pull. They were super excited about the new, "bumpy" fabric when we received our order....but this mama is decidedly NOT excited about the fabric quality! Would no longer recommend this to a friend, and will sadly be looking at other options if this new fabric remains in production.

Pant is tight for infants in diapers

This runs in a smaller side. My baby is 12mo, 22lbs and 31 inches tall. 12-18mo pant for him is not too tight or short, but is very low rise. it won't cover his diaper well. As he is still crawling, 3 inches of his diaper in the back is showing. I wish it has a little more relax fit for smaller sizes as babies are in diapers!
