i am 5'1, 105lbs, The size xxl fits well in terms of length of both body and the sleeves. It is a relaxed fit. The thing i don't like is the hood. It fits my head size and i am sure it will keep me warm. but it seems very small by looking, perhaps i am looking for hood with strings to tighten it up.
My 11yo daughter loves her coat! We live near Chicago where she walks to school and it keeps her super warm and dry. Easy to get on and off and has held up well sledding and playing in the snow too. Relaxed fit and easy to wipe off those salt marks. She was very excited to tell her friends that it was made from recycled fishing wire too. Great buy
We're New Yorkers by way of Chicago and after spending December in Chicago for the holidays, I was horrified at how thin my son's coat seemed. Immediately purchased this and my son's review was that it made him feel hot. Goal achieved. But he also says its too heavy to wear so that is something to consider.
My new parka fits well and is warm. I love the earth-friendly elements that went into it. I would like it even more if it had more pockets, including ones that could be closed. Also, it is a bit uncomfortable (rubs against my neck) when I zip it all the way up.
My 8-year-old son has a lot of trouble zipping this coat because the zipper is long and the fabric is stiff. The coat is warm and fits him well, but it is a battle to get him to wear it because he gets so frustrated. Unfortunately I may end up returning this because when he cannot get it zipped by himself at school, he freezes at recess.
I wore Patagonia jackets since 90s. I was able to wear Womens XS size until 2010. For last 10 years, Womens XS was getting bigger and I have trouble finding size that works for me. Even XXS is too long at times although the width is ok. I tried this Kids parka and it was too wide for me. In addition, XXS size is not available for all and Kids cloth... Read Mores are too wide for me and length is odd (too boxy for me). I would love to be able to wear Patagonia cloths but it seems that Patagonia no longer makes cloths Petite women.
We're sorry to hear that our sizing has been disappointing lately. We recommend that you take a look at our [women's insulated jackets](https://www.patagonia.com/shop/womens-insulated-jackets-vests?prefn1=size&prefv1=XXS) available in XXS, as well as looking for our winter coats that have a "slim" fit design instead of "regular" or "relaxed" styles which will fit more generously. We'll reach out to you privately to assist further. Thanks for your feedback!

Amazing coat!
I am a 5'0 woman and have tried a million different adult coats that never fit me well. Finally found this one and it is perfect. The heaviness of the coat matches the warmth, it's water resistance is great, and the big pockets are awesome. I wish it had one inner pocket, but otherwise that's my only critique. I'm so happy with ... Read Morethis coat!
Out of the box first impression, I love my new parka! I'm a 5ft, 100lb adult and the XXL fits great (might be small for a normal kids XXL wearer). The sleeves with an inner cuff are a good length, where a women's XS would be too long. The almost perfect is because there is no inside/hidden zippered pocket like the adult parkas. The outer ... Read Morepockets don't have a zipper, so I will add some Velcro for security. Otherwise, the style, quality, color, weight and fit make the perfect parka.
I am a 5'6 125 lb woman and this jacket fits just right. I didn't want a woman's cut jacket as I find those can be uncomfortable and sinched at the waist. The men's also seem to be a little big for me. This jacket is perfect and keeps me toasty in 0 degrees with just a sweater underneath.
I am 66 years old, stand 5 feet tall, weigh 103 pounds, and in Patagonia jackets generally wear a Women's Small or a Boys XL size. My search for a parka began with the Womens Small selections, but, after finding everything was to my knees or longer, I headed to the Boys line and was pleased to find the Downdrift.
It is suitably styled for an... Read More adult and is even offered in adult colors (gray or black). The length is mid-thigh, which is exactly what I wanted. My usual Boys XL size was a tad snug, but the XXL is darn near perfect.
The parka is generously packed with down, is solidly constructed, features outer and interior fabrics that seem durable as well as comfortable, and offers a minimalist design that is both attractive and functional. The two hand pockets are spacious, warm, and well placed. The hood is cozy and stays put.
All in all, I am thrilled with my Boys Downdrift and expect to enjoy it for many years to come.
