Very nice bag, but not a 20 degree

Very good features on this sleeping bag and nice and light/ packs small. Very good craftsmanship, I enjoy the center zipper and the hood is great. I have two grievances that both revolve around the same thing. Theres no way this is a 20 degree sleeping bag. I am a warm sleeper and Ive had this bag down to about 30 degrees several nights now and it ... Read Morewas necessary to wear wool socks, full long underwear and a puffy with a hood in order to sleep. The absence of a draft collar around the neck definitely didnt help. I had to sinch the hood down so only my mouth was showing, which Ive never had to do on another sleeping bag. All that said, if youre using it in warmer temps its amazing! Just dont plan on being able to camp more than a couple seasons if youre in much weather

Cozy Sleep

I just returned from a seven night canyoneering car camping trip in Utah. I took my new Fitz Roy to try out and it proved fantastic, cozy, functional, and fun (color and top zip). Night time temps were between 32 and 40 F with some wind. I slept inside my Mega Bug for a bit of dust and wind protection. I slept in a light wieght merino top and merio... Read More shorts. I loved having my arms tucked beside me when needing warmth with no side zipper interfereance. The bag so perfectly roomy - not too much and not too little, and was perfectly adjustable with the top zipper for temperature control. I was worried this bag might be too narrow as the specifications did not include intermediate measurements (this would be helpful for nerds to make a confident decision to purchase). I did not get to try love making yet, but this bag will surely be appreciated in that regard in cooler temps with the middle zipper. Lastly, here is my big design suggestion and only thing I thought of to tweak. The two halves of the zippered top can be irritating at the neck and chin. The corners are bit pokey. I learned to turn my chin to one side or the other when the bag is zipped up fully. An elegant and fun change, I think, would be to curve that last 12" or so of zipper from where the baffles change direction, for example, to the left corner of the hood (this would be for right handers). That would be super fun I think and would allow for a continuous portion of the bag to more comfortably contact the chin and neck area when fully zipped. Bravo on providing a beautiful product and gratitude all around.

Let Me Count The Ways I Love This Sleeping Bag

That my old bag is 35 years old and paper thin in spots may contribute to the joy of sleeping in this bag and being warm. The fabric's "hand" is comfy and lets you move in the bag without binding up. It's plenty warm down into the 20s, I have already confirmed this on spring nights out in Colorado. The center zipper is really ha... Read Morendy for getting in and out and incrementally dressed/undressed while still in the bag. It's got three zippers so you can manage venting the bag really well. The foot box makes it so that your feet don't tug and pull on the bag under your back. And on the cold night I snugged the hood around my head resulting in staying warm down into the 20s. Two thumbs way up on this bag!
