Minimalist Boundary Waters Sleep Kit

Full disclosure - Im a Patagonia employee - but I feel compelled to write a review because of how much I loved this bag on a recent 90+ mile early August canoe trip in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness of northern Minnesota. Ive always been interested in a minimalist approach, so after seeing the weather would be hot for most of my trip (da... Read Moreys in the high 80s, nights in the mid 50s-60s), I felt confident enough to bring this as my only sleeping bag, paired with a Thermarest NeoAir Uberlite pad (and my Crazy Creek for extra insulation from the ground). It worked better than I could have expected. I was perfectly warm (but never too hot) every night. On the hot nights I would start with the bag just over my legs and then pull it further up if I woke up and was chilly. On the coldest nights (mid 50s) I layered up with Cap 2 bottoms and a Nano Air hoody and was perfect all night. Really pleased with this sleep setup and especially how small and light it was in my pack. This will be my new go-to system for peak-of-summer canoe tripping.

I am 5'10 and the large weighs just over an ounce more than the medium, making it worth it to size up for me personally. It packs tight and includes a double cinch on the stuff sack to get it really small. I expect this synthetic bag to pair well with a d... Read Moreown bag in colder temperatures.
