Alaska Needs You

More mining and drilling in America's Arctic will push us away from a livable Earth and further into climate chaos. Right now, you can help protect our climate, local communities and biodiversity by asking our government to stop extraction in three areas under threat in Alaska.

I gave them all I've got.

I found these waders to be perfect for a recent 8 day trip to Greenland. We hiked 6 to 12 miles a day coving a lot of ground. These waders were the perfect choice for a rugged environment with lots of abrasions and a ton of walking. It felt like wearing ski pants rather than bulky waders. The ability to roll them down made for extra comfort when ou... Read Moret of the water. The rubber bootie is unusual by today's design standards, however, I was thrilled that they dried immediately rather than carrying around wet neoprene booties. I also found that with a thick wool sock, the bootie was more comfortable than my experience with Neo booties. I hope this is helpful.

Love for travel

I have owed these for 2 years or so are my go to summer travel wader. Material extremely durable however the suspenders are not a match at all and hardwear pieces. Like some of Patagonia products the latest few years fragile and seem not really tested. Needless to say I also had the buckle for the up and down adjust snap this summer. I caught it an... Seems lowest cost one was used.

Buckle broke after 1 month, 5 uses

I've used the waders 5 times, have owned them for about a month. They have a nice feature where the wader height is easily adjusted between hip height, or chest height. I was heading into a deeper section of river, so I unlocked the cam buckles so I could raise the waders up to chest height. The cam buckles are pretty compact and light, which ... Read Moreis good in these waders. However, where the buckles are hinged is a really thin (1/16") piece of plastic. I went to push the cam buckles down - one closed perfectly with little force, as usual. The other, the plastic hinge snapped and I watched the buckle drop into the river. I used the same amount of force as the other one, the overall straps that the buckle uses weren't twisted, just as normal as normal use gets, yet it broke. I'd get it if I accidentally put a hole in the waders - that would be on me, and I'd happily pay. But in this case, I think they sell a pretty good set of waders that have terrible buckles - in my opinion, that's on them. Aside from the buckles, I love the waders. They're going to be more like pant-style waders though soon, since I doubt the second buckle holds up any longer then the first. It would be great if they could come up with a more robust buckle that's still light. The wouldn't recommend these waders unless the buckle design gets improved - it broke prematurely during light, normal use. Patagonia's customer support however is excellent, so at least there's that!

Junk

If you are considering these waders look elsewhere. I'll start by saying what's good about the them. The wading belt, and the fact that they are lightweight. It ends there. The suspenders are uncomfortable and cheap. I borrowed them to a friend and it took him minutes to break latch on them. They did repair them, but I could have done a b... Read Moreetter job myself. They are definitely NOT durable. If you are going to use the waders without touching anything but water they might survive. If you need to bust brush or wade in water with obstructions, keep the repair kit handy. On my last trip my left bootie filled up, and low and behold when I turned them inside out to dry them out, and check for holes, they had already been patched (I purchased them as new). That brings us to the so called gravel guards. You may as well cut them off and purchase some aftermarket guards (I recommend Mt Sun Gear) and use those. I'm going to repair these and use them, because I wouldn't give them to my worst enemy. Once I permanently ditch these waders I will salvage the wading belt, since it's the only thing worth saving. Thanks for listening.

Bootie design needs work

We returned due to the design of the booties. The plastic booties seemed like a step down in quality we are used to with Patagonia neoprene, plus the seam down the middle of the dorsal and plantar foot was uncomfortable and just felt awkward. Neoprene booties should be the standard.

Tweener season waders

Big fan of these - I have a pair of the expedition waders that see mostly cold weather use - but for shoulder seasons I tend to wear these when the mornings are super cold and then it heats up over the course of the day. Great to travel with... I find them comfortable and appreciate the no-frills design.

The Best/Last Pair of Waders youll Ever Buy

I am 6 ft 2 ~240 and these waders for perfectly. They are flexible/lightweight enough to climb down steep stream beds or over and fallen trees/obstacles. Best pair of waders Ive ever worn with phenomenal customer service.

Light, packable and comfortable

I hiked over 3 miles in these and they wore well. They are comfortable to wear and I like how easy they convert to the waist or bib mode. They pack very small and are very light but do appear to be durable. Perhaps the most interesting component is the bootie. They are unique and is what allows them to pack so small and weigh less. You may want to ... Read Moreconfirm your boot fit since they don't take up as much space as the more traditional bootie. I would give a slight con to the seam that runs right down the middle of the foot. If you have thinner socks on, you can definitely feel it. With a slightly thicker wool sock, it is less noticeable. I would say that once you have them on for a while you kind of forget about it. I also found the booties don't offer much insulation so take that into account. Overall I am satisfied with these waders.

Light is right

I travel a lot and fish a wide range of conditions. These are a practical hard wearing solution to my needs. They pack up small but take a beating with ease in the thickets and on the river. Easiest conversion to waist high waders on the market, makes them super versatile. Couldn't be happier.
