I own 7 pair now. They are flattering and the top is so comfy if like me you have a few extra pounds. I vacillate 20 lbs and they look great when I am at my skinniest and chubbiest. Read Moren that, I love the inner right pocket that can fit my money and a credit card. They are great in hot and cool weather and I wear them for biking and yoga because the waist means they dont pinch when exercising and they are great for hiking because they are so light, which also makes for light packing. These have replaced jeans as my everyday pant. I get complements in them all the time and the colors are all neutral enough to mix and match easily with other colors. Awesome product!!!!
Your detailed and thoughtful review of all aspects of these pants is so appreciated! The durable, comfortable, yet lightweight fabric of our Hampi Pant is a 5-ounce blend of 53% hemp/44% recycled polyester/3% spandex plain weave. Thanks for taking the time to send us a review Dene!

Way too short
These pants would have been perfect if they were an inch or 2 longer. It's disappointing that there isn't a tall option.
Thanks for this feedback, Heidi. We're sorry to hear of the disappointment! The inseam on these pants is graded and goes up depending on size, it ranges from 26.5" to 28.5". Please note, these pants were designed for rock climbing, so the shorter length is intentional to provide a clear view of foot placement. You can check out our other climbing pant options [here](https://www.patagonia.com/shop/womens-rock-climbing-pants). If you need any inseam measurements before purchasing, feel free to reach out to our customer service team.

Stylish & comfy
The blue color is pretty; fits great. Like sweat pants but not at all dumpy.
These looks nice enough to wear to work, and are super comfortable! It's nice to have lightweight pants for the summer months as I'm not much of a shorts person. Friends have also purchased a pair!
So these have this really great, comfy waist band underneath which is a fairly unforgiving seam that doesn't have any stretch. For reference, I'm 5'1", about 93lbs and the length on the XXS was perfect. Waist was good, just had a hard time getting them up there.
I bought these because they were on sale and I liked the color. I like them ok but Im glad I didn't pay full price. The material is not what I was expecting. Looks nice for casual wear.
I purchased this item (color RHP) because I wanted a pair of casual yet nice looking comfortable pants. I'm pleased with the color. You can dress them up a bit depending on what top or shoes you wear with it. I love that they are not high waisted. Also the waste is not tight like so many other pants. Wish the elastic at top of waste was a litt... Read Morele wider. But again the waste is way better than most pants. The pockets due flare out when you sit. They are very wrinkly. But I do not think it looks bad with the style. When you sit the legs do come up high onto the calf area. I bought them as a web special therefore the price was reduced. For the price I think they are really good. I would not pay full price. I do not spend that kind of money on clothes. The first pair had a flaw and had to be replaced. The process was easy. I do not see an area to add a photo. That's too bad because seeing items on real people is helpful.
These are the great. I got them as a warm weather alternative to the happy hiker studio pants. They are very lightweight and breathable. Love these pants - I bought two pairs but different colors. I purchased an XL and it is true to size for my body shape - short and curvy. I really like the weight and stretch of the fabric, and the denim color would go with everything. I am very happy with these pants. They are cute, comfortable, and not revealing like leggings in a climbing gym. I think the extra room is nice for high steps. They never got in the way of my climbing.
These pants are perfect!!! I'm short with a petite frame and athletic build, and it's so difficult to find pants that fit. I dont wear any other pants anymore, these have spoiled me! I keep buying them, I finally wore out a knee of the first pair I bought after 2 years of use. I just wish there were more colors!
Comfortable but don't look like you're wearing sweat pants.
I don't like tight fitting clothes so most blue jeans are not what I grab out of my closet. These pants could be used for hiking or going to work. And they are light weight so a good summer choice.

Nice Material, Versatile, Runs Slightly Small
This is a beautiful pant, comfortable, but runs a little small. The waistband does not have much give to it, so if you've got a big caboose, you're going to have some issues getting it on. I would go a size higher than usual.
These are my new favorite pants! I wore them on a girls weekend and received several compliments on them. They were perfect for the long car ride and stylish enough to wear out to a casual setting. I really like them.
I ordered M as usual but this was very snuggle fit. I have a pair of happy hike pants and that was perfect, a bit room to breath and covers my big butt even when Im sitting.
loved the soft and light hemp feeling and the color, but its too low-rise for me. Other than that, It was perfect.
A warm-weather staple. Comfortable and stylish if you roll the hems and pick the right shirt and shoes, lots of compliments. Sometimes I buy XS, sometimes S. I'm between sizes so I ordered these pants one size up. These are awesome - light and roomy and have been great for traveling and canoeing. The knees and butt are cut well for moving around in them. Love these pants, easy to move in, reasonably flattering, handy for a hike, lounging about the house, or a quick trip to town. I own three colors. Only downside, the seams in the butt are pulling a bit, even though these fit loosely. Maybe not made for sitting in front of a computer all day. :)
I own three pairs and am constantly getting complements on these pants. They look like linen but are so much easier to care for. Just wash and dry, no ironing! Super comfortable. I just wish waist was more elastic. They are a little awkward to get over the hips, but fit perfectly once in place.
Its been exactly 10 months since I bought these. They were incredibly comfortable with great pockets for phone, keys etc. The first month I did notice the seams on the butt were starting to separate, but seemed to be holding. The EVERY DAY PANT!
I have three different colors in the same size xs. The fabric is extremely comfortable. The pants can be worn for many different occasions. Washing is easy. No shrinkage and few wrinkles.
Would like a few more colors.
I am a size medium or 8/10 in most every active brand. I had to struggle to pull the size medium up over my hips. No stretch or give beyond the small top elastic band.
I usually wear an XS/S in Patagonia pants. Or a 4, short. I have an hourglass shape (small waste, booty, athletic legs). I got the XS and the waste was super tight but the legs fit fine. I got the S and the waste fit but the legs were too baggy. Returned them both and got a different pair of Patagonia climbing pants that fit great!
At last Patagonia is making pants for the smaller woman. I'm 5'1" and 98 lbs. My new go-to travel pants: lightweight, stretchy, extremely comfortable. I bought the grey on sale. When I found they were perfect, I ordered the rest of the colors at full price.
I am so happy to finally find a great pair of pants that aren't skin-tight. They are tailored to a flattering silhouette and are long enough!!! I've already purchased 2 more! Bring on summer :)
These pants are lightweight and perfect for activity outdoors. They move with you beautifully through a day or casual wear, hiking, or scampering around outside.
These pants are only Ok. My main issues are with the waist. The drawstring is similar to a thin shoestring, so it makes it really uncomfortable when you tie it up tight as it digs into your waist. The top portion of the waist is not too stretchy or form fitting, so it gaps a lot. It would have been better to have a fully elastic or stretchy waist t... Read Morehat can fit many sizes and move with you. The hip pockets are lousy. They are not deep and do not have any closure, so they pucker out and anything kept inside would probably fall out.
Absolutely love these pants! The fabric was a bit scratchy when I first got them, but after a couple washes, it has softened up, and these are my new favorite pants. I have warn them hiking, bouldering, and of course...lounging. Would highly recommend.
I love these pants for climbing in desert heat! They are comfortable and functional. I got my first seam tear near the drawstring in front, then a second a few months later in the butt crack seam. (I do a lot of butt scootching that could contribute). When I brought them in, they traded them out for a new pair. The fresh ones are just as comfy.
I bought a pair of these and a pair of the caliza pants at the same time. These are slightly less expensive but far inferior. The material is scratchy, the waistband is thinner and less functional, the ankle isnt adjustable. Im not going to return and Ill wear them when the other ones are dirty, but I would never buy another pair. They are just ok.... Read More

comfy pants but useless drawstring
I just got these pants so cant speak to longevity, but so far I love them. The fabric is wonderfully soft - normally I like all natural fiber clothing, but the mix of hemp and polyester really works. Also, the pink color is beautiful. Understated but rich, and I feel like its just as versatile as more neutral colored pants.
I got my usual size an... Read Mored the fit is pretty good but not perfect. Theres some slight gaping at the back of the waist when I squat down, despite the fact that the pants are the correct size. This could easily be fixed if the drawstring were at the top of the waist band, but as is, for those of us with curvy hips, the lower placement makes it useless. I understand the idea of having it lower down so its not irritating under a harness, but I wish Patagonia would make an alternate, non-climber version with the drawstring at the top of the elastic, so that it would be functional for all body types. (In its current position, it actually makes the gaping worse when I tighten it up.) Because of this, I likely wont be buying any more pairs in the near future, but am happy with the ones I have. I love the pink color so much that Im okay putting up with some fit issues for it, but the other standard colors - blue, gray, etc - wouldnt be worth it for me.
XXS is perfect for me [100 lb, 5'1]
Super comfortable! Breathable fabric for walking on warm climate -FL. Excellent reinforce and articulated design on knees makes it great for yoga and stretching with no restriction. It could be dressed up. First Patagonia pants that fit well. Please make more XXS in other styles :)
These are so comfy I could wear them every day. I love the material, they are soft, stretchy, and light enough to wear in warm weather. I'm thinking of getting another pair. My only complaint is that the waist is a bit big, so I need to tie the drawstring to keep them up.
After purchasing a pair last summer, I was happy to snag a second pair this summer sale. I was pleasantly surprised to find my new pair is much easier to get on and off. I really like the cut and fit of these pants, and the feel of the fabric. They have a slim fit like joggers, with a comfortable waistband. The pockets are a bit too shallow to hold a phone securely. Comfy, breathable pants, cute looking pants! The only problem was that its not as stretchy in the waist seam. Comfy and Versatile!
I wear these pants climbing, hiking, biking, for yoga, and around the house. Actually, now that I work online I wear them to work too. The comfort of these pants can't be praised enough. The waist is a little tight to slither over my hips as well but once I have them on, they fit like a dream. I also love the pockets for casual convenience. I wouldn't recommend putting anything special in the pockets when climbing, however. I'm looking forward to buying more of these pants in other colors!

As a Patagonia pro and native of Ventura County, I always give Patagonia gear a shot. Yet, time and time again I have been disappointed by the pants. Feels good, super comfy, regular length, love the imperfect-type of hemp texture, color is as appears in photo. Pockets are perfect placement and depth. Runs large.
Like all Patagonia products, these are really well made. In my first outing in these - I took a very inelegant tumble down the trail...I basically somersaulted. Super comfortable
I love these pants. I have two pair and am thinking of a third. They are comfortable, cool, and can go from a hike to the office. I wear them most days of the week.
My daughter and I both love these pants because they are so airy and versatile. They can be worn for travel, a hike, and then out to dinner, all on the fly. My daughter has quite the bootie so her pockets pucker just a bit but they still look super cute on her!
While I bet these would also be great for adventuring, at present I have been loving them for working from home. I love the color and fabric of these pants. I am normally a small to medium in Patagonia. The pants are pretty baggy except for the drawstring with is super tight. The large would be way to big everywhere and I think the hip would still be too tight.

I have had two iterations of this pant, and I think the waist difficulty has been solved. If you want a natural fabric pant with good pockets, sits low on waist, fantastic range of motion for hip and knee, ability to push cuff up to upper calf and easy laundering- this is it.
To start off, I usually wear size Medium pants with Patagonia, but the Smalls of Hampis fit me perfectly - the're ALMOST too big if it weren't for the drawstring. So if you have a "usual" size with Patagonia, I'd suggest to size down.

I've worn these pants at work, all day outdoor climbing, hiking, & hitch hiking in the middle of summer in Chile and they've held up beautifully. They allow for full range of motion, and I haven't had any signs of wear despite that they frequently rub on rock or in cracks. Also, Hampis are loose enough to put leggings on underneath in colder weather - and the air layer you get with that provides pretty decent insulation!
I've found they can last several wears between washing, and do tend to get a bit creased, but if I fold them and kind of pat them down the creases go away and you can't tell whether I'm on day 5 or day 1 of wearing them.
I haven't had luck with other Patagonia climbing pants (the Escala and Venga both did not allow proper range of motion and I ended up returning), but Hampis are truly one of my favorite (and only) pairs of pants I own!
These pants are very comfortable. I like that they are lose but dont look sloppy. They are not good for warmth but perfect for spring, fall and summer. I bought a size up to use as sick day pants too
I don't do loads of climbing so I've used these for more hiking and lounging. As other reviewers have said, it is a snug fit to get over the hips. I really like these pants - perfect for travelling and hiking. The only thing that I dislike is that my hips make it a bit difficult to actually get the pants on, but once I've got them on, they fit perfectly. Otherwise they're great - they look nice and are quite comfortable.
I liked the feel and lightweight nature of these pants. They fit in my waist but were too snug in the hip/butt area. My suggestion is to add some stretch to the material as I did not feel like I had much room to move in the pants.

These are super comfy. I haven't had a chance to wear them a lot yet but I'm looking forward to getting lots of use out of them in the future. The most comfy and so durable!
I have these pants in 3 colors now. So comfortable, so versatile and so so durable! Plus, very sustainable, which draw me to them in the first place. Please, never discontinue on green color :)
I have a terrible time finding pants that fit me because I have no hips and no butt to make pants stay up. I had to buy a second pair of these so I could wash the first pair I bought as I didn't take them off for a week after I found them!
Love these pants. They stay on with no worries of any kind. Great for adventures of any kind. I know Patagonia runs a bit smaller (thankfully, consistently) than other stores so I sized up and they're perfect.
They are so cute and versatile. I can go from hiking to dining in them. lightweight so they are great for bug protection without feeling too hot. These pants fit well, look great and have lots of flexibility. My only criticism is that the waist does not have enough stretch to fit comfortably over my hips when putting them on or taking off. They do go on, and have plenty of room once on, but the transition is tight. Regardless, I still really like these pants.
I purposely ordered these in the next bigger size because I hate tight clothing. They are very comfortable and look good. They’re a bit too pricey for my budget unless they’re on sale.
I did an instant happy dance the second I put these pants on. I work at a farm in Georgia and am constantly going back and forth between long pants and shorts. Tight but still great!
In order for these pants to fit more closely to my skin, I stuck with my usual size XS. Love, love these pants. The fit is perfect (I am 5'7" with an athletic build (read: ample booty) and got a medium). They are lovely for outdoor play but also can be 'dressed up' with some flats and be dressy casual as well.
These are my go-to wear for evenings and weekends. They're comfortable, casual, and look great for hanging out. Great especially for travel (car, plane, train, bus...).
I got a pair as casual travel pants for our extended road trip. They’ve been hiking, biking, bouldering, strolling, sitting, lounging and dining. I count on Patagonia for quality clothes and this one did not disappoint. The fabric is substantial and the pants are well made. I am 5ft. 4in., weigh ~118 lbs and my go to is a size 6. Just the perfect light pant for warm weather when you want your legs covered. The tight ankles (but just right) would work for bike riding, and are comfy. I own two pairs and I've given two more pairs as gifts! They're great for everything. They're my favorite pants to climb in and my favorite pants for casual activities. I had some first thought on these pants and it seems like time for an update.
Pros:
-Awesome to climb in. No problems without the gusseted crotch.
-So lightweight. I wore them out when it was cold and could feel the breeze through them. This makes them perfect for climbing for me, as I get super hot but don't like wearing shorts.
-Wash perfe... Read Morectly and soften over time. I've never dried them, though, so I'm not sure how that would go.
-I love the fit and how they make my legs look.
Cons:
-The stretchy waistband above the drawstring is not good. It's soft which is nice, but it sags majorly the moment I put them on because it's the biggest part of the pant. I think these pants are awesome, but I really dislike this part of the pant. I might have to alter them just so that part isn't so big.
Love, love, love. Ended up buying one pair in Austin then ordering 2 more. Great pant, casual or dressy. Don’t stop making. I will be ordering more hemp. As a farmers wife I believe in hemp!!!!
I absolutely love these pants. They are super comfy! The previous reviews were right about the waistband being unforgiving when putting them on, over the hips, but after that, they are just perfect. The solid fabric just below the waistband (and weird drawstring placement) doesn't really have enough "give" to get past your hips easily. Once they are on, they fit fine though. Might need to add some sort of a side gusset or hidden zipper to be used when getting on and off. Hard to believe the model is 5'9" unless she is all torso. These pants run a little short, so I can only wear with sandals. Also, the slightly tighter than it needs to be elastic at the ankle means you have to tug them down every time you stand up from sitting.
Note, if you like to tuck in your top or wear tops that aren't particularly long, some of the color combos make you look like a guy who wears his pants low and exposes his underwear/boxers. Something to think about on the ones with a printed waistband.
I was somewhat unsure if I would like these pants as I read some conflicting reviews, but I have to say after wearing these for a climbing trip (and almost every day honestly) I am extremely pleased with these pants! If that's not your style, these pants are short. I wear Mediums in most other Patagonia pants but for this style they would have been too big. The tie in the waist of the Hampis helps adjust to the perfect "tightness" without feeling restricting or inhibiting taking them on/off.
I wanted to get some climbing pants that weren't synthetic materials (yay hemp!), and these held up amazingly well on a 5 day trip climbing on sandstone and taking whippers that resulted in a slightly scraped butt but somehow no mark on the pants? The hemp feels thin but durable, and I was pleased that they did not feel stretched out/worn even wearing multiple days in a row. The waist being stretchy is a huge plus as under a harness there's no buttons or anything pressing uncomfortably. I do not feel any restriction of movement and the flowy-ness of the pants helps in heat but also helps keep insulated/warm with leggings or a base layer underneath.
I intend to wear these pants to work (I can dress casually), yoga, climbing, biking/commuting, hiking, and honeslty on an almost daily basis. I am also very glad these feel like they will last me years and I highly recommend them!

I love these pants. Just climbed in them and they were so comfortable and easy to move in! Major draw back is the drawcord section. I would have ordered the teal but they were out. For reference I'm 5'1" and 103#
A couple of first thoughts after receiving these. I haven't climbed in them yet because I am not 100% sold.
Good thoughts:

-Very lightweight and will probably be good in the gym

Not-as-good thoughts:
-No gusseted crotch, which is surprising for climbing pants. I have a long torso, so maybe the crotch comes up higher on me, but I'm a bit nervous about climbing in them.
-I really wish they were higher rise. Just an inch or two would be perfect.
-I also wish they had kept the pattern on the band for the blue!
-The knees come up a bit high and are a bit stiff.
-Band sags in the back. It's also really weird that you can only tighten the pants below the band. It's a different look, I'll give them that!
Overall, v cute. Hoping for some tweeks, but they're pretty good as is.
I wanted SO badly to love these pants and buy several different colors, but the sizing just didn't work for me. I had seen these online and wanted to try them on in person because I am 5'3" and generally pants tend to be too long. I got the blue ones in size L - I'm 5'8'' and 145 lb with my weight in my stomach. They fit me great. And they are a lightweight fabric, with a nice drape, and cooling in the breeze - I've been wearing them in the summer in Tucson AZ and am so happy with them!
I get what one of the other reviewers said about the waist - the draw-string is tied kind of at the hip, while the upper band is about 2 inches wide and sits above that. However, since I got a L to fit my larger waist,I don't have the problem of gapping. Size L is what the "fit finder" told me to get.
I came back here to get another color!
I purchased a pair of these in March and when I received them,I noticed that there was stitching on the knee seam that was coming loose. I tried on both the S and the XS and ended up going with the XS because the small was way too big, even with the drawstring. The XS... Read More were difficult to put on because the drawstring waistband has NO stretch. None. It makes no sense. Once they are on,they fit perfectly, the stretchy part of the waistband was even a little roomy--but pulling them on over your hips is difficult. The first time I went to wear them climbing I pulled them on over my hips and they ripped right at the drawstring. Disclaimer: I do not have huge hips. They are average at best. These pants could have been great but this is a major design flaw. I don't even know whether or not to rate them as running large or running small because the pants themselves run a little large, but the drawstring waist runs small. I returned them.
I gave it about a month after using these pants to write my review. I've been climbing in these pants in 80F,humid crags. In climber's perspective,I have a few pointers. 1. GREAT fabric. Now the cons:
The technical design is flawed. The pants are kind of big and the wasteband is not totally elastic. The waste band is not really elastic. When I put it over my waste, the waste is too big. However, when I try to put my pants on,the wasteband is not elastic so I have a hard time pulling it up through my hips. The drawstring to keep it on my waste isn't very effective. For the cost of the pants,I would expect them to be perfect all around.
I felt silly at first, purchasing a pair of rock pants as someone who is not a rock climber. I really wanted comfortable, lightweight pants to wear during the summer doing whatever.
