This jacket is light, warm, packs small and layers well under a ski shell. Its perfect for resort skiing, and ski touring. It also looks great around town. Excellent warmth for weight, layers well and packable
This is the best synthetic insulation layering piece I have found. It layers well under a shell without adding much bulk for skiing and I keep it in my pack for the summit when touring. Perfect for winter evenings in town apres too.
This was a great fitting jacket, but the Night Plum (?) color was far too vibrant for me. Had Barney or Grape Ape vibes for me. So exchanged for a subtler color. For reference W's Large and I'm 5'7", 155lbs.
I have the previous version of the micropuff and while it is a very solid product, the durability of the new micropuff is amazing. I find that it doesnt snag as easily and also has an indirect effect of being slightly warmer (or i have lost many feathers on my older version). Love the color at first sight.
I love this jacket. It is very comfortable and the fit is great. Not bulky and nice and trim. I am always a small or extra small and the XS is perfect in this. However this jacket is not worth the hefty price tag. My r2 techfaces are warmer than it. It has little to no insulation. It is a 50° and up jacket not something that will work in winter. I ... If you can pick it up end of season on sale I highly recommend. I do not feel it is worth the full price tag though. I can get similar products from other companies for $100-150 less. The quality is great and the material is great and the fit is great. So I do recommend it-on sale
I have a black micropuff from last year which I practically lived in. I was so excited to get a nice dark balsamic color - the night plum. Well, the color is not even remotely what it looks like online. It is more of a fuschia purple color. It is pretty if that is what you are looking for, but it was not what I wanted. I wanted to upload a photo of... Read More what it truly looks like in person but Patagonia apparently doesn't allow photos as part of the reviews anymore. Totally recommend the jacket. This is a perfect jacket! It's small and packable, very comfortable and easy to move in, stands up well against abrasion, has an impressive level of wind-proofness and surprisingly warm for its weight and size. I wear it to work, because it looks nice and I can easily toss it in a bag to go out. I've worn it climbing and it doesn't s... While it wouldn't keep you warm on it's own during a snow storm, it's a great layering piece, and I wear it by itself on blue bird days and it keeps me plenty warm on the ski lift. I also really like how close the hood stays to my face and doesn't let the wind in. And did I mention, its cute?
Loose, boxy fit. The zipper extends too high to the neck making it uncomfortable with the hood (very small) on. Otherwise, a functional light jacket for casual wear and hiking.
I pretty much wear puffy jackets all the time in Santa Cruz. I bought the micro puff in navy 6 years ago and lived in it. I had it repaired many times, and finally I decided to buy a new one. I bought the bright blue one and it just wasn't the same fit or feel- it was kind of crunchy and stiff. I decided to give it a second chance; I would hav... I have 2 of these in two different sizes and love them both. I can fit S over t-shirt or add sweater with size L covering all the way under my hip. This is my hands down favorites jacket. Super versatile. Pluma fill insulation acts like down but is synthetic which is great for wet conditions. Easy to pack for all my excursions. It was my go to jacket on my trek through Patagonia and also touring the cities of Europe.
Warm of this jacket is spot on. Very lightweight and packable. The hood fits well and is great for staying dry but is very unattractive as it fits very snuggly. Not a great everyday jacket
I absolutely the first edition of this jacket. Ultralight and mega warm this jacket holds up to everything I throw at it. I wear it 120 days a year skiing and then most days the rest of the year climbing, running, fishing, biking and going to the post office.

Super light travel jacket.
Travel. This is my travel jacket. Amazingly perfect jacket for cold New York late winters as long as you have layers underneath & can still withstand light showers. Love this jacket as my staple travel jacket.
Received this jacket as a gift in mid December, December 19 to be exact. I used this jacket as a mid layer for casual use and snow removal. By January 18 I had two holes in the jacket and took it to my local Patagonia to get patched. I didn't realize a patch was just a black circle sticker, dont love that. Not for short people
Plenty warm and lightweight, but the large size was very long in the sleeves and body. Bigger doesn't always mean taller. Hello Monae, thank you for this feedback. We will pass along the suggestion for a petite line to our product team, because you're right, outdoor enthusiasts come in all shapes and sizes! Amazing Technical Piece
Despite it being relatively thin, the insulation on this jacket is amazing. Comfy, warm, and good elastic cuffs help to trap in as much heat as possible. Used this on hikes in single digit weather and was completely fine. Fit is great!
There are so many things I love about this jacket. It is warm, lightweight and goes anywhere. But, the hood is too tight. A regular hat can't fit under it. I had to exchange the first jacket I ordered b/c there were loose threads everywhere. I liked the jacket well enough to try again. I haven't had the second one long but the stitching seems more secure. Not something one should have to worry about with a jacket this expensive. Patagonia customer service reps were excellent in helping me exchange the jacket.
Received this as a gift and love it. It's great during the cooler fall months and is light enough to layer under a coat on much colder days in the winter.
This was to upgrade my last micropuff from 2010 - still going strong btw. I ended up getting a medium bc they were out of smalls. Roomy at last!
I have the vest in a
Large which I love but it is tight across the bust. The XXL allows me freedom of movement and space to layer. I may never take it off until Summer.
Super light and comfortable. Very warm and protects you from the wind. Hood fits snugly and keeps you warm. I love this product. Patagonia has the best service!!!!
I was so excited about getting the micro puff because of its characteristics. None of the colors for this fall excited me at all I personally think are awful and black is too boring for me, so I decided to go with the wax red. I kind of think Im between sizes. I ordered size L so I had room for layering. And it fit ok in the waist and hips (I found it long but it didn't bother me) however, the shoulders and back were WAY TOO BAGGY! It made me look so big. Also, the Hood seemed super small, it was hard to put it on when zipped up. I debated about keeping it but I honestly I hated how it made me look. I read reviews from other years and they all said it fit too tight in the arms and shoulders, well if Patagonia tried to fix the problem I want to say that you all added too much extra room in that area. It fits awful! Im 5'6 and weight about 166lb. Im unsure if the jacket with no hood would fit any better in the shoulder area, but I just don't want to go through the hassle of ordering and then having to return it. :(

Great jacket
This jacket is so comfortable and easy to wear. It travels so well and can be rolled up. It's a perfect autumn cover and wi th a sweater goes well into Winter. Love everything about it .
