Alaska Needs You
More mining and drilling in America's Arctic will push us away from a livable Earth and further into climate chaos. Right now, you can help protect our climate, local communities and biodiversity by asking our government to stop extraction in three areas under threat in Alaska.

Warm and light
This jacket is light, warm, packs small and layers well under a ski shell. Its perfect for resort skiing, and ski touring. It also looks great around town. I like its simplicity, two large drop in pockets and two zipped hand pockets. I have to be careful when zipping the front zipper as the lightweight material gets caught in the zipper at times, bu... Fish nets for the win!
I have the previous version of the micropuff and while it is a very solid product, the durability of the new micropuff is amazing. I find that it doesnt snag as easily and also has an indirect effect of being slightly warmer (or i have lost many feathers on my older version). Love the color at first sight.
Great fitting jacket but way too pricey
I love this jacket. It is very comfortable and the fit is great. Not bulky and nice and trim. I am always a small or extra small and the XS is perfect in this. However this jacket is not worth the hefty price tag. My r2 techfaces are warmer than it. It has little to no insulation. It is a 50° and up jacket not something that will work in winter. I ... Read Morework outside, and I use it with multiple layers underneath and a shell on top. It really isn't any better than simply wearing a fleece. If you can pick it up end of season on sale I highly recommend. I do not feel it is worth the full price tag though. I can get similar products from other companies for $100-150 less. The quality is great and the material is great and the fit is great. So I do recommend it-on sale
Love the jacket/color is way off
I have a black micropuff from last year which I practically lived in. I was so excited to get a nice dark balsamic color - the night plum. Well, the color is not even remotely what it looks like online. It is more of a fuschia purple color. It is pretty if that is what you are looking for, but it was not what I wanted. I wanted to upload a photo of... Read More what it truly looks like in person but Patagonia apparently doesn't allow photos as part of the reviews anymore. Totally recommend the jacket. Just wish the color was true to online.
Perfect Jacket for Everything
This is a perfect jacket! It's small and packable, very comfortable and easy to move in, stands up well against abrasion, has an impressive level of wind-proofness and surprisingly warm for its weight and size. I wear it to work, because it looks nice and I can easily toss it in a bag to go out. I've worn it climbing and it doesn't s... Read Morenag on the rock (although I wouldn't wear it to climb a chimney). And I've worn it while skiing on nice days. While it wouldn't keep you warm on it's own during a snow storm, it's a great layering piece, and I wear it by itself on blue bird days and it keeps me plenty warm on the ski lift. I also really like how close the hood stays to my face and doesn't let the wind in. And did I mention, its cute?
Love the micro puff
I pretty much wear puffy jackets all the time in Santa Cruz. I bought the micro puff in navy 6 years ago and lived in it. I had it repaired many times, and finally I decided to buy a new one. I bought the bright blue one and it just wasn't the same fit or feel- it was kind of crunchy and stiff. I decided to give it a second chance; I would hav... Read Moree loved navy again but I settled for black. Let me just say this jacket is the best! The black has a navy blue undertone which totally surprised me. It fits like my first and is light but inconceivably warm. Its my new favorite among favorites.
Perfect everyday jacket in winter
I have 2 of these in two different sizes and love them both. I can fit S over t-shirt or add sweater with size L covering all the way under my hip. I have tried nano puff but ended up returning it and keeping micro puff instead. Because micro puff is much lighter and easily fit in my backpack, its so light I even forget I had it. Fantastic all around jacket
This is my hands down favorites jacket. Super versatile. Pluma fill insulation acts like down but is synthetic which is great for wet conditions. Easy to pack for all my excursions. It was my go to jacket on my trek through Patagonia and also touring the cities of Europe.
I absolutely the first edition of this jacket. Ultralight and mega warm this jacket holds up to everything I throw at it. We appreciate your review and we're sorry that the sleeves are disappointing. For Fall 2022, our designers modified the sleeve length by approximately one inch. not what I expected of Patagonia quality
Received this jacket as a gift in mid December, December 19 to be exact. I used this jacket as a mid layer for casual use and snow removal. By January 18 I had two holes in the jacket and took it to my local Patagonia to get patched. I didn't realize a patch was just a black circle sticker, dont love that. Don't recommend as the quality d... Read Moreoest match other products like the nano puff.

Not for short people
Plenty warm and lightweight, but the large size was very long in the sleeves and body. Bigger doesn't always mean taller. I would be great if Patagonia had a petite line of outerwear for those of us that like quality outdoor gear, but don't have narrow figures. Also, the scuba hood works fine if you are going to zip it all the way up for ... Read Moreinclement weather, but just to have the hood up, with the coat partially zipped for light wind, is awkward and strange looking. Kind of cone like. Hello Monae, thank you for this feedback. We will pass along the suggestion for a petite line to our product team, because you're right, outdoor enthusiasts come in all shapes and sizes! There are so many things I love about this jacket. It is warm, lightweight and goes anywhere. But, the hood is too tight. A regular hat can't fit under it. Read Morehe stuff pocket. I had to exchange the first jacket I ordered b/c there were loose threads everywhere. I liked the jacket well enough to try again. I haven't had the second one long but the stitching seems more secure. Not something one should have to worry about with a jacket this expensive. Patagonia customer service reps were excellent in helping me exchange the jacket.
Hood/collar too small
This was to upgrade my last micropuff from 2010 - still going strong btw. I ended up getting a medium bc they were out of smalls. Hi Michelle! Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We're really sorry to hear about the disappointment with the fit in the hood and collar. Feels comfortable warm but fit is awful
I was so excited about getting the micro puff because of its characteristics. None of the colors for this fall excited me at all I personally think are awful and black is too boring for me, so I decided to go with the wax red. The color itself was better in person than I was expected, it wasnt too bad so I was like ok this looks fine but the fit of... Read More the jacket is definitely not for me. I kind of think Im between sizes. I ordered size L so I had room for layering. And it fit ok in the waist and hips (I found it long but it didn't bother me) however, the shoulders and back were WAY TOO BAGGY! It made me look so big. Also, the Hood seemed super small, it was hard to put it on when zipped up. I debated about keeping it but I honestly I hated how it made me look. I read reviews from other years and they all said it fit too tight in the arms and shoulders, well if Patagonia tried to fix the problem I want to say that you all added too much extra room in that area. It fits awful! Im 5'6 and weight about 166lb. Im unsure if the jacket with no hood would fit any better in the shoulder area, but I just don't want to go through the hassle of ordering and then having to return it. :(
Thank you for sharing this feedback, Alexa. We're sorry to hear this jacket didn't fit you well, and happy to see you're returning something that wasn't going to make you happy; we hope the new jacket works better for you, but if it doesn't, please let us know and we will help you with a return or exchange.
New Micro Puff is different from old one
I had the old Micro Puff, purchased in 2018 and it was great. Purchased the new one recently and I like it but is noticeably heavier than the old one. In fact I really can't tell much difference between it and the Nano Puff which I also have. (The hood on the Micro is smaller and it has inside drop pockets). Still I wear both, the Nano for mor...
