Love the nano air!

I love these garments, got the hoody too, when this jacket went on sale had to snap it up! Ultra mega comfy, just feel like a million bucks in it. Only complaint is it seems the wrist cuffs are a tiny bit bigger on the jacket than the hoody?! The hoody size has my vote but its a minute difference:) Definitely next level comfort in this! :)

M's Nano-Air Jacket

Can Patagonia direct be beat? Nano-Air Jacket very comfortable, silky soft, lightweight, and just right for active or casual. Large teeth zipper is fast. Not as technical as R1 Air, but good. My second favorite Patagonia purchase.

The jacket astronauts will wear under their spacesuits on Mars

This is the one garment I have in my closet that has gotten the most wear over years. I mean, among all my clothes. Its lining is so soft you can wear it against your skin as pajamas. and I've used it as my outer layer for spring skiing. It is quite water resistant, and very wind resistant. Best Jacket for Daily Wear

Live in Northern California and this jacket works well in temperatures as low as 40 f. Walk with my dogs every morning and evening in this jacket and find it keeps me warm. Works well against some wind and light rain.

Beautiful fit..

Still have to get experience with this jacket but the fit is terrific, looks athletic but material does not bind or restrict mobility through the chest and arms. Can work as a mid-layer but also has enough fill to take off the chill of the morning. Typically get a shirt with 17 inch neck and 34-35 inch sleeve. Large was a perfect fit. Highly recomm... Super comfortable, but wears out quickly

For the first few weeks, this was my favorite jacket. I love how it can be worn as the main coat in mild weather or as a mid-layer in colder weather. I love the fit, the look, and the comfort. But the jacket has not held up well. It's got a few tears now around the pocket and lots of pills on the outer surface. Maybe this is just how it goes. ... Best Nordic ski top Ive used

I have two or three Patagonia Schoeller- fabric softshells. They represent a major step up from the waterproof/breathable jackets that I used to wear for Nordic skiing (and used to have to remove a lot because I was sweating them up so badly). Great Layer, but Poor Durability

I want to love this coat- it does what its supposed to well; it is a great layer in a skiing/touring setup- providing warmth or dumping heat when needed. Great standalone or layering tech coat

This is my favorite air product by far. I would say the fit is athletic or slim. It's super light to the point you don't know its on. The cuff design is unique and great as it tapers to hand. Arms are a bit long

Love the softness and feel of the jacket. Like some others have said, the arms are slightly long and the cuff is somewhat loose, so it sometimes extends lower on my hands than I like. Otherwise, an awesome jacket.

Im 5.8 and 168lbs w/ an athletic build and I was swimming in the medium. Crazy long sleeves. Tried a small and it was too tight in the chest/stomach area. Wanted to keep this because its a great alternative to Atom LT, but couldnt make it work.

Extremely comfortable! Excellent midlayer and more!

This jacket is an excellent midlayer or stand- alone jacket. For the size and weight it has been doing a great job at keeping me nice and toasty. It also breathes very well and dries quickly. At first I ordered a large in the hoody version. I was going to use it as my second to last layer which is where I like my hood. It was too big for the most part. I could have probaly made that size work for hiking but it would not have worked for every day casual wear. For the money I wanted to get lots of use out of it. Plus, not having drawstrings at the bottom didn't help the baggy cause (maybe that's your style, all good) I swithced up my layer ideas, returned the large hoody and got the medium with no hood. It fits perfectly. Hugs my torso nicely and just the right amount of room throughout so as not to feel constrained. The length all around is spot on too. I pair it with a heavyweight base thermal and another thin capalene long sleeve underneath it. If you are around my size and you only need it as your second or so layer get the medium. If you want to use thicker base layers, like a better sweater or more then go for the large. Either way you should get one!!

Comfortable, but sleeves run long

Purchased the jacket this week from Seattle Patagonia. I liked the fit of the body of the jacket. I am 5ft 8 and weigh 200lb, but the sleeves were very long and there is not a good cuff that keeps it above your hands. Unfortunately, had to send the jacket back.

I wanted one not too

I wanted one not too warm not too cool jacket that would travel late fall from airport to napping on a plane to dining in nice restaurants to strolls around a city and finally a week long hike. Patagonia's Comfy Magnum Opus for Breathable Jackets

Hands down, hands up, hands together my favorite/most worn Patagonia Jacket based upon level of next to skin comfort/softness & ideal temperature control. Read Moreas far as comfort (super soft/lofty, like wearing a plush sleeping bag) it's the ne plus ultra. I did have issues with major pilling with a prior iteration (2018-19?), but so far the current 2020-22 Nano Air face/internal fabric is holding up great (wash it inside out as well). Keep in mind you will need a windbreaker (recommend Houdini) or hardshell rain jacket if you're hitting any type of windchill, but in terms of indoor, mild/cool outdoor active jacket, or used as an active mid layer, this piece is incredible! Also note it does not pack down super small like a down jacket, & it will "wet out" very quickly in rain (not a shell despite DWR), so know its limitations, but despite those you will then fall in love with its strengths & its supreme comfort.

Love this for a lightweight and comfortable option for warmth when I'm working and guiding on small ship expeditions in Canada and Alaska.

September 12, 2022

Perfect amount of insulation and stretch.

Thats really it. Great mobility when fully zipped and breathability helps to not get overheated. Cuffs are well cut, fine around the wrist or pushed up to the forearm. Patagonia generally runs a bit large for me so I took the size down from my normal M.

Good but wears down easily

Overall is good with one big downside: it wears down easily. I used my with a backpack while traveling through cities in Europe and after the second washing around the second week of usage I found out that it had weared out/pilled in two places, one at the front right lower side and in the lower back. I like that it breaths well (not perfectly, bu... Read Moret on average is good) and looks great. Looking back, I wouldn't use it with a backpack again and would limit it to casual usage, which works wonders for. How do I fix the pilling easily? With a disposable razor blade! It works WONDERS. All the peeling gone without downsides. The damaged fabric blends fine with the surrounding undamaged fabric. If you zoom in and inspect it, you will see the degraded fabric, which has a different texture, but it would probably be fine for everyday usage. The thing that really popped up was the pilling.

Nano Air

I love everything about this jacket except for the length of the sleeves. I wear a size medium in all things Patagonia but for some reason the sleeves on the Nano Air were extra long. Because of that I had to have the sleeves shortened which I know voids any warranty. I wish Patagonia had more consistency in sleeve length from style to style.

Slim fit, super functional

Im 61 and 190lbs. and the medium fits perfect as a slim outer layer. I often need a large-size jacket but wanted something slim fitting that would work great over just a shirt or base layer. Theres no room for a sweater underneath. Its a close fit but the jacket moves with you and doesnt bind up. I love that it doesnt have those elastic cuffs that ... Read Moremake the sleeves balloon out at the wrists, like so many jackets these days (including many made by Patagonia). These have a low-profile, sleek fit I was looking for. Fabric seems a little fragile so well see how it lasts. I wish the collar was a bit taller.

Excellent Jacket, sub-par Durability

Without question, the Nano-Air is the most versatile jacket I own. I wear it trail running during winter in Tennessee, under a shell skiing in Colorado, and as a mid layer for work in northern Alberta. It’s warm, breathable, light weight and extremely packable. It’s also cut perfect - allowing for good mobility without excessive material. My only c... Read Moreomplaint is durability. Granted it gets a lot of use, it has more pilling on the shoulders and around the neck than any other jacket I own - perhaps from wearing it under a shell or with a backpack. I recently discovered the Techface fabric used on the new R1 and R2. Patagonia, please re-make the Nano Air with the Techface fabric!

Fantastic Mid-Layer!!!

I ski patrol at 10,500 feet. I sweat through the nano-air many times during the day. It dries super quick and keeps me toasty on long lift rides. I've tried just about everything (down, synthetic, fleece) as a mid-layer and all pale when compared to the nano-air. In 18+ years of patrolling, I've never had a better mid-layer than the nano-... Sweet Jacket for Exercise

I bought this jacket for around half price and I absolutely love it. I use it for nordic skiing, everyday wear in the winter, and I use it as a layer for snowboarding. Unfortunately, after just about a year of use the fore arm area as well as the lower back area are pilling pretty bad. Other than that it is a great jacket.

Hey Nathaniel, thank you for taking the time to write a review about the Nano-Air Jacket. Sorry to hear that it's already begun to pill after a year. Using a shell over the jacket can help protect the face fabric and prevent this issue. With that being said you are welcome to [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html) the jacket at any point for a refund or replacement.

Such a versatile layer

I have worn it as a outer jacket with a T-shirt in about 50 degrees and as a mid layer in the 20s with a hard shell and Merino wool base layer, it was great in both occasions. I think it's treated with DWR because I used it in some light rain and the rain beaded up, I could easily shake the water off before I got into my car.

Awesome for exercise

This is perfect for exactly what Patagonia advertises it being good for: staying active outdoors– hiking, XC skiing, etc. The breathability, compactness, and lightweight are awesome. Before buying, I saw some customers referring to it as a mid-layer, but here in Central New York and points north, I think it's insufficient as a winter mid-laye... Read Morer unless you're doing something moderately active. Just walking the dog around the block, I was cold in the low 20's with this and my winter shell, and winter gets a whole lot less hospitable. Again, perfect for exercise, but I'd use a beefier mid-layer for any low intensity activity like resort skiing or casually walking around town in a northern /high-altitude winter.

Mighty fine jacket for everyday

Mighty fine jacket for everyday wear. Warm without being bulky and it moves with you nicely. Cinching around the wrist and waist keep you draft free without feeling tight or constructing.

Awesome Jacket

Using the 2019 Forge Grey with red accents with matching Galvanized Shell and it an absolute perfect combination for skiing. Love the look, feel, but more importantly the performance of the Nano Air as a midlayer. It's simply great.

The greatest jacket in all of history

I never take time to review clothing, but this thing is something else. It's incredibly light, stretchy, soft, warm, and breathable. It's even quite good at repelling water. The only thing it doesn't do well is block wind, but that's intrinsic to the breathable design. Pair it with a shell for <30 degree days, and your fall, ... Favorite Layer

Stretchy comfortable and breathable. Seems to run a little larger than the previous version, but this could be my imagination. It's not an extremely warm layer, but it isn't supposed to be. Easily paired with a vest when it's truly cold out. New exterior material looks resistant to pilling, which was my only gripe with the old versio... Read Moren. Excellent for start stop activities.

Works as advertised!

A great mid-layer that can also be worn on chilly days as outer layer. Warm even in windy conditions.

Nano-air jacket

Great material perfect for layering on cold days on the ski hill. Doesn’t feel bulky. Love it!!!

Great piece

Rarely do I use a layer without a hood, but when I do (mechanized skiing with a helmet and under a hard shell), this is the perfect piece. If you are looking for a breathable active layer without a hood, look no further!

So light, so comfortable, so warm.

Absolutely the most comfortable jacket I've ever owned. So breathable it's hard to find reasons to take it off.
