Nano puff hoody is warm and has all the right features for how I use it on a daily basis. Nice fit and works well under waders. Like the upper side pocket for items to be able to access while wearing waders. Hood fits well, is comfortable and warm.
Selected this based on the neutral color, since my orange, purple, and hyper-blue ones don't always fit the bill. Nice touch that the fill is recycled material. Only recommendation is to find some other way to incorporate all the sewn-in product labels. Kinda silly to begin a new garment by having to cut out a half-dozen useless labels, leavin... Bought this jacket as a packable fishing layer but now I wear it everywhere. Perfect layer that keeps me warm no matter how cold it gets. Highly recommend!
Used this garment during a recent fishing trip to Iceland. Wind, rain and cool temps. Worn with a rain shell. Warm, lightweight and not bulky. Dries quickly when wet.
Its super nice to have a system to any gear pile. Skis need skins under them, cams need slings attached to them, waders need layers beneath them. This layer, the NanoPuff Fitzroy Trout Hoody, is an ideal 'system complete' piece to the cold weather fishing I tend to do. My older one was the snap in layer to the previous River Salt Jacket m... Read Moreodel. That one has been to the Brooks Range and has done its work! The new one is super warm, slick for sliding under/over other layers, reaches through a spey cast, and looks great with the navy color in the expedition waders! Love this piece.
This jacket helped weather small hail and snow while fishing Colorado's Lake Jefferson in a sudden June alpine storm, and cold Colorado rain at a drizzly Red Rocks concert a few days before. Great jacket for all-around warmth and temporary water resistence.
I've owned just about every light insulation layer out there. The Nano puff is tried and true. Good warmth, wind resistance and most of all durability. Way more durable than the Nano air or other similar layers in different brands.
While its incredibly versatile and I would not want it to change, its not the warmest layer. Recommend for being... Read More highly active, layering underneath etc.
I've been wanting to get one of these for years and finally did it now that they have the Fishing specific clothing line. This is a very comfortable jacket that I would highly recommend.
Nano puff is incredible,my go to jacket.Keeps you really warm. Its light weight and not bulky.Windproof and water resistant is a bonus. You can't go wrong with the Nano puff.
Bought this as a highly functional mid layer/light jacket and...I'm not sure if I've taken it off yet. Enough space for a crew/thermal under and sits nicely under a heavier jacket. Wind? Rain? No problem. The Fitz Roy Trout is a nice touch on this as well. I would personally rate this jacket as comfortable down to about 60F before needing... TLDR: Add to cart. Buy.
The jacket is super light and takes up almost no room in my pack. It does well in light wind and cooler temperatures. The cold doesn't usually bother me and didn't want a jacket that was too warm. This is perfect for our hi-desert weather.
best minimalist jacket ever worn. acknowledging the mantra "cotton kills" when discussing mtn attire. been wearing this jacket with just a t-shirt underneath in temps down to mid 30's when active and low 40's when walking or more static.
Buy once cry once! The Nano puff has gone from the skiff to the mountains and ever disappoints. All you need is this and a rain shell, you are ready for anything. Perfect product as always.
I bought this jacket to replace my nano puff which got stolen. I always use it as an under layer so that is why I bought a medium. If I was going to use it as an outer layer being 6ft 1in I might buy a large. Love this jacket.
This is amazing light weight & just a great warmth for fall, spring. Use it for a mid layer under a Fits Roy hoody when it's cold & windy. The Smolder Blue color is really sharp addition to my nano puffs.
