Review of Down Sweater
The zipper head is too small, fragile, and it is difficult to use. The Patagonia down sweater that I purchased 6 or so years ago had a much stronger and better zipper for a winter/fall jacket that this one. This zipper head is too small and too fragile. I expect that it will be break and be unusable quickly.

I wear this down jacket all winter long, sometimes sleeping in it after coming home from long Ski Patrol shifts, too tired to change. Its just the right amount of insulation to wear under a shell while boarding. Read More I regularly work outdoors in howling -20f windchill for 1-2 hrs with this Down Sweater + 3-in-1 Powder Town Jacket + baselayer (plus a very nice set of gloves), usually my feet get cold first before I need to warm up by the fire. Even though this isn't my heaviest down, its the one that gets, by far, the most use. Fits under boarding shell in winter or rain jacket in spring. Exterior has survived many winter hikes through brush with no tears yet. Wrist elastic bands and waist pulls keep heat in very well. Another patroller has the exact jacket, we both notice a slight bulge in the upper belly from the zipper which gives a slightly less than flattering profile that I've never seen in any other Patagonia down, but thats my only minor gripe.
This coat will be my primary coat when I am alpine skiing. I will wear it with and without a shell depending on the weather. Although the same size as my previous down sweater - medium - it is a bigger coat. Slightly longer sleeves, and a higher collar. More down. So, I love the coat and can't wait to wear it.

Same great quality from Patagonia
Posting a second review as I've worn the jacket quite a bit now. for my small build a medium is slightly, and I mean slightly large. That of course is nice when a thicker under layer is needed. This jacket is warm so you may not need your heavier down jacket. Comfy and high quality. Love it!
Still a great down jacket
I am a 5ft 10.5in tall and weigh 160lbs. My old Patagonia down sweater jacket was so heavily used I had to buy a new one. If its not fake, I suggest not relying on this jacket for outdoor activity under 45 except maybe walking in a city to a restaurant or work. Its too heavy for hiking, and simply not filled with enough down to be warm enough. It is by far, the worst piece of Patagonia clothing I own.
Hi Steve, thank you for taking the time to submit this review. Whether this jacket was authentic or not we're sorry to hear you're unhappy with it! It's difficult to know whether a product is truly ours unless it's purchased either through us or an authorized dealer. The current model of this jacket has 26% more down than last year's model, but is still very lightweight. Even so we do have warmer down jackets, like the Silent Down Jacket, the DAS Parka, or the AlpLoft Down Parka. In any case, we are reaching out to you to discuss the jacket you have.
Perfect except color
I love everything about this jacket! My only negative thought was I ordered a dark green and got some mint green. I like all greens, but I probably would have not ordered it.

Bought a black. It is not truly black, its slightly off; almost a blueish black so much so that I thought I was accidentally sent the dark navy. Nope, tag says black. Fit was off
I was so excited to receive my down sweater but unfortunately had to return it. It was too tight through the waist and hips even though I ordered my usual size. I was able to try on the next size up at a store. The fit through the body was fine but the sleeves were about 5-6 inches too long. Nice construction but the fit was not for my body.

Very nice but color different than picture
This is a very nice jacket, warm and fits nicely. As with all Patagonia clothing, the quality is excellent. However, the color was a little disappointing. I was expecting more vibrant sky blue as shown on the product photo. Instead the blue was a duller, greenish blue.
