I had one from a year ago that my dog ripped a hole in it so I got another one. I ordered the same size and the new one is a little bigger. Sleeves a longer, jacket a little wider, etc. I love it however. Just should have tried on first.

We appreciate your feedback, Kim! We'd be happy to take a look at your previous jacket to see if we can repair it, so please don't hesitate to reach out to our [Customer Service](https://help.patagonia.com/s/) team if you'd like assistance. In Fall 2022, our design team made a few changes to this style, adding more down insulation, changing the zippers, and updating some measurements at the sleeve and hip. Thanks for taking the time to review it!
Love this jacket!
This is a very pretty light purple that I got a good sale price. It is still a bit cool in the mornings, and this is the jacket I have grabbed as I head out. Love that the arms are long enough for me. Please don't change the sleeve lengths - tall peeps need the longer sleeves.
Comfortable warm jacket
Comfortable well made jacket. Nice deep pockets with zippers. Arms are a little long which I like because if I dont have gloves on my hands are still warm. Big enough to wear a sweater underneath if needed. The only problem is it is a little tight around the bottom which makes it a little difficult to zip, but not impossible.
My favorite go to jacket!!
This is my go to jacket!! I purchased my first several years ago and find it so versatile. Great for travel (all season) as its light enough to keep warm on a plane and stuffs easily into a bag without taking up room. Actually saved me on a cruise that turned out to have some bad weather. I originally purchased this new design in an XL after readin... Read Moreg the reviews that it ran small. I did not find that to be true. Im an average size 12 , usually wear a L In Patagonia , thus the XL was way too big overall. Because the color I ordered was on sale( more reason to purchase) and L was not available, I exchanged for M which was a little too snug. Soooo I waited it out( so grateful Patagonia is so generous with exchange time limit of 1 year!!!) and luckily the L became available, which arrived and fits great! I have long arms and wide shoulder and L fits well. The length falls nicely at hips. Keeps me warm, and is great under a winter jacket for additional warmth without the bulk while skiing . I cant sat enough about this jacket
Bought for my mom
She wore it to a trip to Oregon and Washington through snow and rain. Though not water proof, she stayed warm. She is generally a cold person so layering with this on the outside helped a lot. One tiny con is not a lot of option for colors. She bought a bigger size to layer, typically shes an XS.
Beautiful Jacket - Not Made for Petites
I was so excited to receive my XS jacket! The jacket was well made, and beautiful! Then I tried it on; sadly I had to return it. It was too long, the sleeves were huge. PLEASE Patagonia make some petite sizes, I do not want to purchase a kids jacket! I am 5 feet tall 100 pounds. Thanks!

Light weight warmth
Very warm, lightweight and wind resistant. Allows full range of movement without bunching when used as a liner or having cold spots. The liner clings to body to eliminate drafts. Lightweight and lovely
I have wanted one of these for a long time and was delighted to see the color I like on sale. Love the warmth, style, pockets and the bright pink interior with matching zipper pulls. Weird fit - very tight on hips
Like others, I found this fit strangely tight on the hips. Ordered 2 sizes - the small was much too large in the shoulders and chest while snug on hips; the XS fit up top but couldnt even close on hips (2-3 inches gap). Loved the coat, hated the fit
I wear a Patagonia S, but when I tried this on at the Cambridge, MA store, it felt a little close on the hips. I wanted room for a bulky sweater, if needed, so I ordered the medium. It was way, way too big around chest and waist, and just right on hips. Very disappointed with the fit.

lightweight, warm, happy
This is a much better option for cold temps than the Nanopuff. The down sweater is close/slim fitting but works well over a thin sweater or lightweight long sleeved shirt. Interior chest pocket is perfect for putting in some credit cards or folded paper money, a set of keys.
Perfect for my needs!
Wow, I cannot believe this jacket checked all the boxes - fit, style, color, length and weight. I wanted a down jacket that was warm but lightweight and easy to pack/wear when travelling. I chose this jacket over the hoody version because hoods usually add too much bulk (unless they are removeable). Beautiful jacket!
Purple Down Sweater
Absolutely love this jacket. It is so lightweight and comfortable. I took it with me to North Carolina and it was perfect. Had a light t-shirt underneath and it kept me warm. It is also packable so it took up almost no room in my suitcase. Would definitely recommend this jacket!!!
nice, tight in the hips
I got the grey/blue jacket and love the look, though like others, I find that the jacket is tight at the hips. I'm tall and slender and did not have this problem with my previous Patagonia jacket. I hope the designers take note of the comments. Not sure who they are using as models!

This is a perfect down jacket. Response from PatagoniaMarch 17, 2023
Hi Julie! Thank you for taking the time to write us a review on the Women's Down Sweater. We're really sorry to hear down is poking through the material. It is completely natural for some of the down and feathers to escape through the fabric, particularly in the seams. The sharp quills of the feathers can poke tiny holes in the fabric and work their way through to the outside. It is normal for this to happen, particularly in newer products when the down has not had an opportunity to settle. In rare cases, a material defect may cause excessive down leakage in a product which is covered under warranty. If you're unsatisfied you're welcome to [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html).

Read More This fits me much better, and I like the color I was able to get better - but it is definitely thicker and honestly I don't think it's as warm as the AlpLight. I find it a little strange that this is called a down sweater, when it's too thick to fit under another coat, but the AlpLight down jacket might fit under a coat, and is more packable. I'm afraid I'll probably return this one, even though I like it better, because it's not as functional for the purpose I bought it for. I could wear it in my very cold home office as a sweater. For outerwear, I prefer something longer, unless I'm doing something active, in which case the AlpLight is probably better.

Fit is not for me.
Fit is not for me. Too long too thin. Please consider making petite sizes. Also the sweater has been sprouting feathers since the second wearing.

Hi Katharine, thank you for submitting this review. With regard to the feather loss, you may be able to keep them intact by pulling them back in from the other side, and then firmly rubbing the fabric with your thumbs to close any hole that has formed. In any case, it sounds like the size or cut of this jacket is not for you. We want you to be happy with everything you purchase from us, and if you like we'll be happy to help you [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html) it. This is my 4th Down
This is my 4th Down Sweater and it is noticeably cut slimmer than my other 3. Im not certain why Patagonia found it necessary to change the cut from the original but it is not nearly as comfortable as the original cut.

Different Fit from Previous Version
I sized up from my usual Patagonia size Small because I wanted to be able to wear it comfortably over a heavier top like a Micro D 1/4 zip. I already have a the down sweater in a size S and size M. I love this jacket. It is the second one I have purchased. Still wearing the original one but wanted a second color. This jacket is awesome in a broad range of weathers. Because I was unsure of size I purchased this in the medium and the large and returned both of them. In both jackets the arms were disproportionately long and because the sleeves did not fit tightly around the wrist I was unable to push the arms up although given how long they were I doubt that would have worked.

Great mid layer down jacket
Love the fit of this. Im an athletic build and sometimes Patagonia sizes are tight around my shoulders and back in small. In this jacket the small feels great, its comfortable and snug. This is my second down sweater. I purchased my first one about 9 years ago, and it was still my go to everyday winter coat but due to some wear over the years wanted an upgrade. I personally love the new fit. Its longer and less boxy compared to my first down sweater. I am still impressed by the warmth, and I love the vintage purple color!
Love this jacket. Keeps me reasonably warm (not toasty, but warm enough) down to about 20 F. This does run a bit small. I'm a large to XL in Patagonia. Definitely needed an XL in this one. My favorite winter jacket
This is my third Women's Down Sweater. It's the perfect weight and warmth for most of the winter in Anchorage, AK. I like this new design, the fit around my hips is better - not so blousy. This jacket was a standard for Patagonia. Beloved. And then... they made it inches longer. It is a totally different jacket now that it covers the butt. Sadly, I will be on ebay trying to find an older one.

Love this jacket. Had one
Love this jacket. Had one I wore for years -Antarctica, Africa, theater, everywhere. Then lost it so got another. Sad it doesn't still come in the silver color I had before that went with everything and could dress up or down. But this color works. Have recommended it to many friends.
Bizarre fit for short folks
LOVED the color blue. The arms were about 3 inches too long, too much room in chest/stomach, but way too tight around hips. I ended up giving it to my mom, who is 4 inches taller, and it fit her beautifully. Patagonia needs to make petite sizes -- the regular hits too low on the body in any size above an XS.

I got this in the blue and was surprised to see the bright pink lining at the color and inside the sleeve cuffs (very noticeable when I rolled the sleeves to get a better length). Also, the blue is closer to a purple than blue, and I really was't looking for a purple and pink jacket. Overall, just not flattering on me...not the fit and not the color.
