Very disappointed in this jacket.

I owned the same high loft jacket in 2017 and i would give that jacket it a 5/5, i was so happy with that jacket. Finally some Camo!!!

I’m glad Patagonia has finally made some camouflage. I’ve been a Patagonia loyalist for years, but as a hunter fisherman I’ve had to look to other companies to get my hunting gear. Ill recommend this hi-loft hoodie to anyone and every one. It’s plenty warm for Colorado winters, but comfy enough for the brewery. Buy one now!

The jacket is perfectly warm and lightweight enough for Michigan’s unpredictable yet frigid winters. I like the fit. I like the design. However, the quality of the shell material is problematic. Hi Devin, we're sorry to hear your jacket is leaking feathers! This can be the nature of down insulated items. A good trick with this is to never pull the feathers out because this can cause a tissue effect. Try to pull them back in from the opposite side of the fabric and then massage the fibers back together, essentially sealing the hole back up. We back everything we make with our Ironclad Guarantee. If this persists, you can send it in for a return or repair. Feel free to bring it to a Patagonia store or [mail it in](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html) by printing a $5 shipping label.

Pretty rad

I like the jacket, but as with most Patagonia stuff, it seems to run a bit big size wise. I'd probably have opted for a size smaller, but I think I can make it work. My biggest issue with the item is that as top-of-the-line gear, I'd kind of expect or hope for some more bells and whistles, i.e. more pocket options, pit zips, etc. It'... Hi David, thanks for taking the time to write us a review! We're sorry to hear about some of the disappointment with the lack of features. Fantastic Jacket - better than the regular down sweater

This has got to be one of the best purchases I've made. I wear this jacket almost every day and it is not only very lightweight but also extremely warm. Winter Backpacker

I purchased this jacket a year ago to replace a 10 year old DAS parka. Overall for winter camping in the NY/NH/VT mountains it has been the perfect tool for the job. Read More my sleeping bag to extend the range of my bag. I have only found two drawbacks. First, it leaks far more down than I find acceptable. I have a 2 year old down sweater for daily use and have never found this to be an issue like it is on the Hi Loft jacket. Second the fit of the hood feels shallow. It keeps me warm but I find myself missing the fully wrapped and securely fit cocoon style hood of my old DAS parka. Overall it does the job and finds its way into my pack on every winter outing.

Poor zipper choice

Warm, good fit, but this tiny zipper is a bad choice for this big jacket. I had patagonia fix the broken zipper less than one year ago, it lasted for a few months and broke again. Also have many holes in the jacket, its not very durable fabric. Great for casual wear, won’t hold up to much else.

Recently I sent it in to have them look at a potential repair for me,and got a brand new one- to my surprize. I did take the opportunity to switch from blue to black (the blue picked up oils from my skin over time) and also dropped to an XS. I don't remember the XS being an option the first time around, but it's only slightly more snug than the old small was. For reference,I'm 5'8" and 125lbs and the new XS fits me very well. I could still wear a thicker base layer underneath without any real issue, though the hood on the new version seems to sit slightly higher up on my head rather than wrap around to really seal out wind. I'm not sure this will become a serious issue though with real world use. Very glad to have my favorite jacket again!

Sizing is not comparable to the regular version

The build quality is great, typical Patagonia, but I have issues with the sizing. The regular Down Sweater Hoody fits me perfectly in large. I am 6' 1",190lbs. I was reluctant to buy the high-loft version because some of the negative reviews about the fit, but decided to try it out based Patagonia's great warranty and commitment to ethical down production. I was shocked by how much more filling is in the hi-loft version. Although it's only a few ounces heavier, I learned that the down portion of the jackets accounts for only a very small percentage of the overall weight, and the hi-loft version has significantly more fill. The only downside (no pun intended) is this version is bit tighter under my hardshell due to the increased loft. Another decision I was trying to make was whether or not to go with the hood. But I have found that you can kind of roll the hood down inside into a giant puffy collar if you are wearing this as a midlayer (by the way I think Patagonia should market this.) Overall I have found this to be warm sitting around camp in the upper 30's and low 40's (with a light fleece underneath), but I haven't tried it in any colder temps yet. I admittedly get cold very easy. Also the Patagonia was more than willing to take back the original down sweater, I found a friend who was wanted to buy it from me as I got it on sale. He says it is too warm for the regular version if it is over 50. Just goes to show that the warmth of these items is very hard to rate as there can be huge swings based on the individual user. Also yesterday I wore this on a nearby summit with 40 mph winds. Didn't even need to take out my hardshell as the outer shell on this did I fantastic job blocking the wind.
