This is the best neoprene sock ever! Its fits better than any wader or wet wading sock, period. It is built differently and fits you foot better than any wet wading sock on the market. I fished for three days straight and hiked over 20 miles in these. They were better than any sock I could have worn. The hiking and fishing comfort was absolutely pe... Read Morerfect. I have found the BEST hiking and wading option available. This sock is outstanding.
I wear wool mountaineering socks under the Swiftcurrent Expedition Zip Front Waders in size MLM. The size M Yulex socks are one full size smaller than the booties of the waders. I sized up so I can wear the same socks under these, and so my wading boots fit the same as they do with the waders. If you wear no sock or a thin liner sock only, these ar... Hi, the ankle is sort of tight when roller down which will hopefully stretch once wet but my main concern is the materials. Could you please tell me why only neoprene and polyester are listed (was really stoked on the Yulex). Thanks
Hey there Codie, thanks for the review! These wading socks are definitely Yulex for the exterior, and the footbed contains polyester, nylon and spandex. We had an error with the printing inside the sock last year which showed the incorrect content and it's since been corrected, but it sounds like you received a straggler. Please know that it has no neoprene. Awesome Fit
These fit great and are excellent for wearing in my wading boots when I am not wearing waders
I really like the fit and function of these wading socks. I use them with the River salt boots as a canoeing system for portaging. They fit really well and were generally comfortable, but one seam chewed on the outside of my little toe. Cloth tape or liner socks will fix the issue. The weight of the yulex is great, about the same volume as a heavy ... Read Morewool hiking sock (mountaineering or hunting weight) and the gravel guard works really well at keeping even the finest debris out of your boots.
Hi Dominic! Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We're really sorry to hear that the gravel guard rides up and allows gravel into your wading shoe. Feedback like this is crucial to improving products for future seasons. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed so you're welcome to [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html).

Wading socks
Even though they are XXL, they are still quite tight on me and I have a US sized 13 foot,it would be great if they were sized as a US14 for a 13 foot size as they would be much easier to get on and off
Thanks for the feedback on the fit Paul! We're working on extending our sizing across the line and we hope you find something that's a better fit in the future.

Perfect fit
These wading socks were a great addition. True to size.
Reading other reviews, I ordered up a size as I am kind of in between. I wear a 9.5, and went with a large (size 10-11). Perfect fit, I wouldnt want them any tighter.
Seems like a great product. Comfortable against skin. I have not worn them fishing yet, still have a few more months until wet wading season. Still wading in snow runoff, so the Swi... Read Moreftcurrent Expedition waders with wool socks & base layer make the cold water an enjoyable experience.
For reference, I would say the booties on the waders that fit shoe size 9-11 are bigger than the size large Yulex wading socks with gravel guard. I have a little extra room in the booties while wearing thick wool socks, and the wading socks fit great without too much extra room against the skin.
If you're reading reviews here you're most likely interested in how these compare with the Simms Guard Socks. I have both and can tell you: These are much more comfortable on bare feet. The Simms have noticeable seams on the inside. A small downside of these is that Patagonia prints stuff on the inside of the sock. So if you pull it up fo... These Patagonias are great. Just used them last night on the South Holston in cold water and fast current while reeling in a 20+ inch brown.
To start with they run small. Also, do they really need all that writing on them? Sometimes you keep the sock pulled all the way up and it looks like you are wearing a billboard of cleaning directions. They need to be longer also, so it covers more of the boot and the laces. I loved these so much I bought an additional pair for my Son. These are great for wet wading in rivers where you need the traction and/or stability of your fishing boots. They work perfectly with my Patagonia-Danner boots.
Super comfortable. Ive literally worn these wet wade fishing 8 hours a day. Last weekend I did some stream clean up and path clearing. Wet or dry, in the stream or on land These are as comfortable as wearing your favourite sneakers!
Gravel guard hook tearing off and leaving a hole in the neoprene
Not sure if this is due to user error but the webbing, with the hook that attaches to the wading boot, is tearing off of the neoprene sock and leaving a hole. This is happening just after 3 days of fishing. Needless to say I am very disappointed, these wading socks do not back up Patagonia's reputation for making quality equipment.
Hi Paul! Thanks for sharing your feedback, and we're sorry to hear about the hole that has developed in your wading socks. Please note, your purchase is protected under our Ironclad Guarantee.
