This savory toast is protein-packed and travels well—you can assemble it at camp, at the trailhead or on the beach. Use Patagonia Provisions® Smoked Mussels or any of our other tinned fish, such as anchovies, sardines or mackerel.
Ingredients
- Patagonia Provisions Smoked Mussels (straight out of the tin)
- Sharp Cheddar cheese
- Jalapeños
- Sliced bread
Trail Ready Tips
- Spoon mussels (or place anchovies) on whole. If you use mackerel, flake it over the crackers or bread.
- Swap the toast for sturdy crackers, crisp bread or even flatbread.
- Optional: Pack some lemon wedges or olive oil packets.
