Rod was a wannabe alpinist who was a little too afraid of heights so he started trail running. His early inspiration came from his father–a Navy SEAL and accomplished distance runner. These days Rod runs to stay fit so he can travel deep into the backcountry, often with his wife and three children. You’ll know Rod is serious about a race when he sports a mustache.
