A lightweight nylon cap that provides full coverage with a neck flap and large bill for all-day sun protection.

Under a blistering equatorial sun, cooler heads prevail. And nothing helps you keep your cool like our Bimini Cap. The 4.2-oz 100% nylon fabric sheds water, dries quickly and has a light hand to temper tropical glare. A supple rear drape shields ears and neck from searing rays and now features our fly-fishing logo on the back. Details: a generous, floatable foam bill with a dark underside to cut glare, a moisture-wicking COOLMAX® headband and elastic webbing with an adjustable buckle to fine-tune the fit.
  • Fixed drape on flap covers entire back of neck
  • COOLMAX® headband wicks moisture
  • Dark underside of bill reduces glare
  • Adjustable rear buckle with elastic for a snug fit
  • 4.2-oz 100% Supplex® nylon, with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish and 50+ UPF sun protection. Headband: COOLMAX® fabric
  • 87 g (3.1 oz)
  • Made in China.

Water Resistant

(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Sun Protection

Lacking fur, feathers or scales, we humans have to think up clever ways to protect ourselves from the sun. Products with the UPF designation provide built-in sun protection that won’t wear off.

UPF stands for “Ultraviolet Protection Factor.” This value represents the fractional amount of the sun’s harmful UV rays that pass through a fabric. A rating of “25” indicates that only 1/25th , or 4% of the UV rays pass through the garment.

Patagonia products with rated UPF protection are tested independently to meet Australia/New Zealand or AATCC protocols. A rating of 15-24 earns a product a rating of “good”; a rating of 25-39 is "very good"; and a rating of 40-50+ is “excellent.” *

* When tested in accordance with Australian/New Zealand test methods AS/NZS 4399 or USA test methods AATCC 183/ASTM D6603/ASTM D6544.
