A fast-wicking, quick-drying crew in a soft 100% polyester.

When that monster permit finally shows, you can’t afford to be wiped from heat and sun. That’s where our Sunshade Crew comes to the rescue. The Sunshade’s ultralight, airy, 100% polyester jersey fabric and 25-UPF sun protection work to keep you cool – even with an adrenaline surge. Thumb holes pull the sleeves down to cover hands, and there’s a convenient zippered pocket on the front left chest keeps valuables secure. There’s also a new heat-transfer Fitz Roy Tarpon logo on the back for cool of a different kind. The Sunshade can’t cure permit nerves, but at least you’ll be ready when the time comes.
  • Relaxed fit for comfort; sculpted cuffs with thumb holes for sun protection of hands
  • Zip closure on front chest pocket; heat-pressed thermoplastic tape reinforces pocket construction and resists abrasion
  • Fitz Roy Tarpon heat transfer on back nape
  • Lightweight, quick-drying 100% polyester jersey, with 25-UPF sun protection
  • 167 g (5.9 oz)
  • Made in Vietnam.

Sun Protection

Lacking fur, feathers or scales, we humans have to think up clever ways to protect ourselves from the sun. Products with the UPF designation provide built-in sun protection that won’t wear off.

UPF stands for “Ultraviolet Protection Factor.” This value represents the fractional amount of the sun’s harmful UV rays that pass through a fabric. A rating of “25” indicates that only 1/25th , or 4% of the UV rays pass through the garment.

Patagonia products with rated UPF protection are tested independently to meet Australia/New Zealand or AATCC protocols. A rating of 15-24 earns a product a rating of “good”; a rating of 25-39 is "very good"; and a rating of 40-50+ is “excellent.” *

* When tested in accordance with Australian/New Zealand test methods AS/NZS 4399 or USA test methods AATCC 183/ASTM D6603/ASTM D6544.
