On this project, you’ll work with volunteers ages 16+ to help remove tamarisk, an invasive plant, to improve the natural habitats found in the 133 acres recently donated to the Center. Tamarisk, also known as salt cedar, has become rampant in many stream and riverbanks. This plant harms native plants and the wildlife that depend on them. By spending the day removing tamarsik, you will help improve the natural environment and prepare the land for the Center’s environmental education efforts.
