Fair Labor Association®
Membership in the FLA holds us and other apparel companies accountable to responsible labor practices.
Patagonia is a founding and accredited member of the Fair Labor Association® (FLA), a nonprofit based in Washington, D.C. established to hold apparel companies accountable to responsible labor practices.
Our FLA accreditation provides our customers with assurance and gives us an objective evaluation of what we are doing well and where we need to improve. As part of our membership obligations, the FLA randomly audits a sampling of our supply chain to assess the quality of our factory-monitoring program, helping us to identify opportunities for improvement. FLA audit results are posted for public access on the FLA website.
In October 2017, our Social Environmental Responsibility program was reaccredited by the FLA, and as mentioned in the “Summary of Strengths” section of the FLA’s reaccreditation report, we continue to work on our commitment to improve labor conditions beyond Tier 1 suppliers and pursue progress toward achieving living wages for workers.
During our next accreditation audit by the Fair Labor Association, we aim to distinguish ourselves with even more information about how our Social Environmental Responsibility program exceeds the FLA’s Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing.
