Sardines in Olive Oil

Our Sardines in Olive Oil are hand-packed in extra-virgin olive oil with a touch of salt, so the meaty texture and mild flavor of the fish shine through. Sardines reproduce fast, making them a more renewable resource. Ours come from thriving, well-managed populations in the Bay of Biscay, off Northern Spain and are caught using small-scale purse seines to reduce bycatch and prevent overharvest. We partner with fishermen who belong to centuries-old cofradias, or guilds, which share profits and encourage cooperation. The sardines are processed, seasoned and canned by a family-owned certified B Corp, also in northern Spain, that employs mostly women.
