bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Weatherproof

2.5-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof, breathable and highly packable for backpacking, alpine climbing and backcountry skiing. They combine a water-repellent shell fabric with a waterproof/breathable membrane and a protective top coat barrier without needing a protective lining fabric. A raised print layer is applied to decreased layering friction and increase moisture management.

2.5-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are coated with DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish that repels light rain and snow. In conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

All products bearing the H2No mark have been vigorously tested for durability in our 24 Killer Wash.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid performance in the rains of Hurricane Irma It really kept me dry from the steady rain we received from Hurricane Irma last week her in South Carolina. What was really nice was the 50% off price when I purchased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for travel I'm a college student. My campus is vast and it rains a lot! I bought this for the rainy days. It's a great feeling to put it on and walk across campus in the pouring rain and walk into class dry!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! Lightweight, Well-Made, Keeps Me Dry This is packable and weighs nothing. It doesn't leave my backpack until grey skies come out. It is comfortable and great for unexpected rain. This is not a paid endorsement. Well, I paid Patagonia so does that count?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Lightweight Jacket Ever!! I have had two of these jackets so far and the have been absolutely fantastic. I originally bought a cusco orange one but eventually out grew it. Know I have a gold and red one in size large. this jacket is perfect for people who want a nice lightweight, compactable, water resistant( if it is an absolute downpour, and you have no cover to go under, the water will eventually penetrate), durable jacket. I have done all kinds of outdoor activities and work in them and they are always up to the task. I have traveled to Japan, Guam, and all over the states in mine and it never wears out. I have climbed 2 14ers in them as well. They are perfect jackets to pullover a nano air or other puffy jacket if you are skiing or doing any activities in the wintertime. They are also, perfect for people with minimalist mindsets since the collapse into the "stuffsack" or kangaroo pouch. The only bad things I have to say about this jacket is the h2no stickers peel off after you use them and wash them, and the zipper occasionally gets stuck on the cover. Other wise everyone should have one of these jackets. Also Patagonia please bring back the cusco orange ones the were the best!!! No other color schemes will compare!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even Better Now with Pocket Returned my old Torrentshell (fraying at neck and discolored lining). Patagonia, per their outstanding cust service offered me a credit towards new. This version has pocket which is nice and taped collar seam and lining is not pure white so won't discolor. New colors look really nice too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best jacket I've ever owned Amazing jacket super light and packable, blocks the wind when it's cold, breathes well when it's warm. Pocket is waterproof to the elements. Would be sweet if the pocket was 100% water proof for wading in the water...think about it Patagonia!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really enjoying this pull-on Very happy with this piece. As a pull-on it save a lot of weight. I've had it out during a strong rain and its totally water-proof, but still breathable. Reminds me of my old Patagonia Cagoule from 30+ years ago, but breathable! I sized up one size for layering purposes.
