Stuff it, crush it, dunk it—the Tenpenny bounces back ready for more. We needed a sun hat that combined the fortitude for hard work with the comfort of an afternoon under the big tree, so we designed the Tenpenny with a blend of cool-wearing organic cotton and quick-dry nylon. It feels light, easy on the skin and broken-in from the start. A DWR (durable water repellent) finish resists moisture and sheds ocean spray; the semi-rigid foam brim floats and provides complete 360-degree sun protection. With an adjustable chinstrap, moisture-wicking COOLMAX® headband and a dark antiglare fabric under the brim.
  • Made of comfortable, lightweight but durable organic cotton/nylon blend
  • Treated with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish to shed moisture
  • Crushable, semi-rigid foam brim floats in water; antiglare underbrim
  • Moisture-wicking COOLMAX® fabric headband
  • 360-degree sun protection
  • Adjustable chinstrap
  • 5.5-oz 74% organic cotton/26% nylon with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • 110 g (3.9 oz)
  • Made in China.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Organic Cotton

In 1996, with an increased awareness of the dangers of pesticide use and synthetic fertilizers in growing conventional cotton, we began the exclusive use of organically grown cotton in all of our cotton products.

The quality of organic cotton is equal to or better than conventionally grown cotton, yet organically grown methods support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, improve the quality of soil and often use less water. Growing organically takes more time, requires more knowledge and skill, and, for now, costs more. But it’s worth it.

To ensure we are buying cotton that is organic as defined by the USDA’s National Organic Program, we require numerous certificates issued by an accredited third-party certification body for every step of the supply chain, from farm to factories.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So nice for a working man Got this a few weeks ago because my husbands neck and face have become extremely dark. This covers all of that. I ordered the L/XL since my husband can never find a big enough hat and it was a little bit too big for him. Other than that it is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sun Hat Fun Hat Ever since I purchased this item, I am impressed with how frequently I have found it to be of use. From a day at playing Spikeball at Cheesman Park to summiting a 14er, this hat has shown to keep my neck and the majority of my face out of the sun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and fits great I bought this about six weeks ago and have used it on the river, on a horse, on hiking trails, and in the yard. It's great and I love that it's so easy to pack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome brim, real cotton, top too floppy Been wearing it every time I go hiking for weeks, and loving it--especially that it's cool cotton and light weight (not much more than a baseball cap). That said, while the doubled-fabric brim keeps its shape nicely, the shirt weight main part of the hat (above the brim) does collapse Cat In the Hat style, making it not a good choice down in town. This was immediately obvious in both sizes I tried and not simply creased from shipping. I'd bump the fabric weight just on that part, or change the picture to show a non-wobbly, nicely curved brim and a creased and slightly flattened top. Truth in advertising for a good if not perfect product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 10 cent hat Overall quality good, not great. Light weight, so good for deep heat. Sent it back: big-ish, not sturdy, and thought it wouldn't stand up over time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from i put the string up inside the hat I'm sure I'll like the string on a windy beach so I'm not cutting it out but in my daily activities it is a little annoying. i just tuck it in the hat. i like the quality of the hat overall what i expected. seems sturdy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, lightweight, hat. This hat is a perfect choice for a warm climate. Good sun protection, and very light-weight. It is a great value as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Material and sewing quality are top notch. A small/medium is a bit large for myself. Having more sizing options (S,M,L,XL or by measurement) would provide a better fit. Or having the size be adjustable.
