bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Odor Resistant

Polygiene® odor control permanently protects your garments from smelling like a middle school locker room. Sweat itself is odorless, but it creates the conditions that bacteria need to multiply, and some of those bacteria produce odors. Polygiene permanent odor control stops the growth of odor-causing bacteria on fabrics, so you can wear more and wash less.

Active only on the fabric surface, Polygiene permanent odor control does not interfere with perspiration or with the skin’s natural bacterial flora. Polygiene particles are more than 100 times larger than nanoparticles and therefore are too large to penetrate to the skin’s barrier. Polygiene-treated fabrics have received Medical Class 1 approval in Europe, the same class that includes bandages.

Women's Strider Shorts is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sizing a little awkward I love the shorts, specifically the color and material, but the medium was too small and the large was too big! I wish they were a little more in between. Patagonia is still my favorite company, but I just wanted to let you know my honest thoughts!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just wish there were side pockets I like the shorts, but I wish there were side pockets. I find the back pocket awkward, though I realize some people love them. In general more pockets the better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfortable shorts I own! These shorts are my favorite running shorts, and they have worked well for both short and long runs (10+ miles), hiking, paddle boarding, and just casual wear. I find that the flat knit elastic waistband is super comfortable, the length is perfect (on the shorter side, which I like), and that they dry quickly when wet. The only thing I wasn't crazy about is that, when new, the lining was a little tight on my butt (I have a large rear end for my size), but it stretched after a couple of wears and feels fine now. The first pair I bought I've had for about a year now, and I can't tell the difference between it and the brand new pair that I just bought a few weeks ago (they're the same color, navy blue/shock pink), so they definitely hold up well. I have 2 pairs in the aforementioned color and 1 pair in the violet blue. I will definitely be purchasing more just in case Patagonia ever decides to stop making them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect length for shorter girls! I'm 5'3 and it is difficult for me to find shorts that are a good length, they're either too long or too short. These are the perfect length! And they don't ride up when I'm playing soccer, and dry off pretty quick after playing in the rain! Overall very much in love with these shorts!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Any Activity, Buy More than 1! I own at least 5 pairs of these shorts. I'd live in them all day everyday if I could. They are lightweight, great for hiking, climbing, camping, water adventures, travel, and everything in between. I love the built in liners! I do wish they were a little more stretchy, squats/lifting is a little restricting in these but still I make them work because they are so comfy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from longer please! I can see how a 20 year old, small hip/butt body would love these shorts, but a 40+ body, not so much. I'm 5'5 125lbs and normally wear a size small but these shorts were way too short and did not accommodate my hips and butt and sizing up did not help because the waist was too big. Please consider making a longer length for a slightly curvy body. Fabric is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great summer shorts Bought medium and fit perfectly (130 5'3"). They are ideal for sports and cardio classes. They haven't been on a long run yet (it is getting cold) but there was no chaffing on my shorter runs! Highly recommend!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tiiiiiiiny I bought these as an add on- the price seemed great and I needed some new running shorts, and having bought the happy hiker short in a size 4 and 6, and baggies in a small, i felt pretty safe in ordering a small. (which is what I have always been in Patagonia) I thought I had made an error when I tried to pull them on and literally got stuck around my scrawny thighs. (I'm 5'9 and 125 lbs and very much on the slim side) Once I got them into place I could see how they were maybe to fit but the waist band begged to be hiked down. I'm not sure if I should try a medium as they seem to be a popular item or just move on to another brand...
