bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Odor Resistant

Polygiene® odor control permanently protects your garments from smelling like a middle school locker room. Sweat itself is odorless, but it creates the conditions that bacteria need to multiply, and some of those bacteria produce odors. Polygiene permanent odor control stops the growth of odor-causing bacteria on fabrics, so you can wear more and wash less.

Active only on the fabric surface, Polygiene permanent odor control does not interfere with perspiration or with the skin’s natural bacterial flora. Polygiene particles are more than 100 times larger than nanoparticles and therefore are too large to penetrate to the skin’s barrier. Polygiene-treated fabrics have received Medical Class 1 approval in Europe, the same class that includes bandages.

Men's Short-Sleeved Nine Trails Shirt is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and Good Looking Only Patagonia could pull off making a T-shirt feel so lush while looking so nice. The seams are as smooth as the material placed in the perfect spots to avoid chaffing and still look right. The sleeves are the perfect length and not too long, nor are the too wide. I own 8 of these shirts and will likely get more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great travel, hiking, and camping shirt This is really an ideal shirt for those looking for something to take on longer hiking or camping trips, or just traveling in general. I'm not quite sure how they did it, but Patagonia has made a shirt out of synthetic material(polyester) that feels and behaves a lot like merino wool. Mainly, it seems to have amazing odor control properties and have a similar soft comfortable feel. I recently returned from a 10 day trip to Guatemala and wore this shirt nearly everyday(some of them hiking days) without a whole lot of odor issues(with the shirt, I didn't smell great all the time). I would admit that perhaps merino wool has a slight edge in those two departments, but being polyester this shirt has a superior ability to wick moisture, stretch, and perhaps most importantly - it has superior durability. If you are looking for a shirt that you strictly want to work out in, you may find the Capilene or other synthetic shirts with elastic fiber blends to be better, but for longer hikes, traveling, and camping or something you can wear day to day, this shirt really in my opinion can not be beat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great multi-purpose shirt! Bought this shirt for working out and running and found it to be a great casual wear t-shirt as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! This is one of the most solid pieces I have ever bought. In fact, I bought 5. I've worn this as a base layer at 35 degrees and alone at 65 degrees and it performed every time. Would highly recommend if you are needing a daily tee.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My weekend warrior shirt I wear this around town and to the gym but it's a great shirt for long weekends, trips etc. I wear it climbing for 3 or 4 days in a row and while your pits might stink, the shirt really does keep the smell to a minimum. Some shirts really exaggerate BO but not this one. Sometimes I'll take it in a river or shower with me for a rinse and it's good to go for another few days. Dries quick, doesn't stretch out and holds up to abuse. I've gotten dirt, mud and blood on it and when I get home and throw it in the machine for a proper wash, it looks like new. It took me about 6 months before the shirt even started to look a bit worn in. Sleeves are mid-bicep, it's more tailored around the waist than other Patagonia shirts and runs a tad small. I'm 5'10 170 and a medium gives me a snug fit but allows room to move and climb. If only Patagonia made a V-neck option!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome for travel! Wore this shirt five days of a ten day trip with lots of intense and sweaty hiking. Shirt dried very quickly and didn't get smelly. I'll be buying this in more colors. Love!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fit, material, and style! Out of all of Patagonia's short sleeve shirts, this is my favorite! Here's why: - Fit -- Slim fit that hits the sweet spot between neither form fitting nor baggy (as I find the regular fit t-shirts to be). - Length -- Shirt isn't too long! I find most of Patagonia's t-shirts (short and long-sleeve) to be too long vertically, i.e., from the neck line to the hem. This one isn't! It's just right. - Material -- it's great! Heathered polyester gives it great properties: durable, wicks sweat, and but doesn't have the sheen of a traditional polyester, giving it more of a casual look. And it doesn't stink. Awesome! - Logo -- it's a great subtle touch. - Colors -- good selection :) Underwater blue and the Navy are my favorite. May try the Yosemite Yellow! 3 areas for improvement that prevented me from giving it the full 5 stars: 1. The shoulder seems are placed a bit narrowly -- should be about 1-2 inches wider to fall at the natural shoulder edge. 2. Sleeve openings are a tad bit tight. If they were maybe 1 inch narrower, they'd give less of a drape without being too tight around the biceps. 3. Be nice to have a few options of the shirt being available with a simple light graphic on the chest or back.
