The Wholesale Forecast Analyst will be responsible for executing top line financial plans for the US Wholesale Business. This includes, but is not limited to, preparing seasonal level style color specific forecasts monthly, and maintaining this forecasted demand. In addition, gaining consensus on demand and seasonal strategy from the North American Wholesale Forecast Manager and the Sales Managers of North American Sales.
Essential Job Functions:
o Execute on the top-line financial plan for the US WH channel including groups of key accounts across categories, gender, and business units to achieve business goals and objectives. Understand, identify and execute the impact of changing channel level demand.
o Proactively identify and monitor trends in the Wholesale business; assist the Sales team and key wholesale customers in determining opportunities to improve sales and margins.
o Advocate for and execute on seasonal calendar including deliverables and deadlines for the Global Wholesale channel from a sales and planning perspective.
o Provide information for seasonal line review process, representing the Wholesale Channel’s demand picture, its customers, and the emerging trends and opportunities present in the US outdoor marketplace. Represent and communicate demand so that Merchandising’s Category and Product Line Directors can act and plan Patagonia’s collections in a way that best suits our customer’s needs.
o Collaborate and include input from key stakeholders including Dealer Accounts, Sales Team, Planning, Dealer Service Reps, and Business Unit directors to better the forecast.
o Represent key accounts, strategic new accounts, and markets, to ensure that both forecasted and booked orders are represented in the Wholesale forecast. Prepare, calculate, and extrapolate current bookings to better understand whether actual sales are trending with the forecast, adjusting the buy as needed.
o Collaborate with the Supply Chain Planning team in deploying accurate demand plans and and work through exceptions that arise.
o Actively manage channel specific off-prices events so that gross margin targets by sales division are maintained. Partner with Marketing, Dealer Service, and the Distribution Center to insure that any collateral, in addition to value-added-services in the DC, are coordinated and support the sales effort.
o Recap and analyze in-season results weekly vs. plan.
o Complete Hindsight exercise post season with the intent to share cross functionally. This would include sales trends, At once business, cancellations, and channel specific data.
o Identify potential opportunities/risks in the business particularly against forecasted plans. Develop recommendations for the business.
o Support the North American Forecast Manager with various projects and tasks as needed.
o Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
o Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
o Ability to loot at a computer screen for extended periods of time.
o Ability to maintain a composed and professional demeanor within a flexible and (at times noisy) work environment.
o Must be able to travel internationally and domestically utilizing various transportation methods.
o Participation and understanding of the sports that Patagonia produces products for.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
o BA/BS required, and APICS certification or relevant coursework in forecasting a plus.
o 4-6 years of forecasting/planning experience.
o Demonstrated analytical ability and problem solving skills.
o Solid working knowledge of personal computers with experience using MS Office. Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills, experience with Cognos/Brio, as well as modern-day ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft A/X, and/or Lawson – among others) required.
o Excellent reasoning skills: must be able to identify and address quantitative data effectively and arrive at solutions independently.
o Strong organizational skills and an extreme attention to detail is a must.
o Must be a self-starter with an ability to work in a collaborative environment.
