When you're climbing and skiing through blowing snow in frigid temperatures, the breathable, wind- and water-resistant Talus keeps warmth where it belongs. We bonded a warm, dense polyester fleece liner to the tightly woven 4-way-stretch Polartec® Power Shield® polyester face fabric for superb weather-resistance and warmth with soft-shell performance. The articulated arms end with supple, low-profile self-fabric cuffs, and the handwarmer pockets are fleece-lined. With two chest pockets and a drawcord hem. Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

The Good:
This warm, windproof, highly breathable and water-resistant soft shell, for technical use in cold conditions, is recyclable through our Common Threads Recycling Program.
The Bad:
The water-repellent finish contains perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), a synthetic chemical that is now persistent in the environment. We're researching alternatives but, for the present, the finish is key to garment performance.
What We Think:
A completely recyclable shell is a great achievement. Next task: a less harmful finish - plus fabric, trims, zippers and zipper pulls with recycled content.
