bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile, cozy and stylish I own one in navy blue and black animate excited to see this new red color. It’s in my cart and I’ll be purchasing it shortly but first wanted to write a review. This fleece jacket is very flattering. I love that it dries so quickly. I use it in the winter as a layering piece and on chilly summer nights. Love that I can stuff it in a bag and pull it out with no wrinkles. Also love the clean design and minimal logo. Don’t necessarily go completely by the sizing chart. According to the chart I should be a small but I find that the extra small fits just fine for me. I’m a 32c, size 26 in jeans, size 2-4 in shirts, and am 5’4” and weigh between 114-118, depending on time of year. It has nice stretch and conforms to your body.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best fleece ever!! I've purchased this fleece multiple times. It's great year round and for layering. Super soft and comfy. I wish it came in a dark grey or dark navy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice lightweight layer Super soft fleece is perfect for cool spring days and summer evenings. Tailored enough for me to wear on the golf course, too. Wish pockets had zippers, but otherwise perfect. Fit is spot-on - my usual size small fits perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so soft This is my first patagonia anything and it is so soft. I like to wear this under my winter coat as an extra softer layer. its thin but warm enough. Great for layering.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Quality isn't the same I desperately needed to update my Micro D fleece and took a chance even after reading the previous reviews. What is happening to the quality at Patagonia? Terrible fleece update to a staple jacket. How can you be active in this jacket? The sizing runs very small, the pockets have no zippers and are not large enough to hold a small iPhone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fabric is very thin Same problem I've had with other Patagonia products. The fabric is very thin and tears easily. I bought this in the summer, wore it a few times, and it has holes all over. For how expensive the clothing is, it should not be getting holes poked in it so easily. I do like the fit and the collar looks really good zipped up. Just wish it was not so easily ripped.
