Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just for fisher-people! I'm a field biologist and use these when I'm out monitoring shorebirds on Monterey Bay. I'm super fair-skinned and try to cover everything I can to avoid exposure. I've been using them for ~6 weeks now and I'm really happy with these gloves. Added bonus that they keep a thin layer between when I'm carrying a cold/hot metal tripod/scope about. I'm a woman with smaller hands and the 'small' size fits great. They got grubby after a while so I threw them in with a cold wash and they came up like new. Great product, I will definitely buy another pair if they ever wear out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best on the Market! As a flats guide I burn through gloves constant water from the push pole fish slime and being balled up and left to rot in my jacket pocket for days on end puts a lot of stress on them. These are comfortable and rugged they allow dexterity for tying complicated Knots. I've had three or four pairs now and will continue to buy them. I don't expect my fishing gloves to last forever or for a whole season but if your not pushing a skiff they should provide years of use..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sun Blockers Being a former red head, I need to stay out of the sun. I bought these originally for fly fishing. But where they really shined was backpacking with hiking poles. I used them in the Sierra's on a 7 day pack trip. They really held up well. I came home hand washed them with soap and water, and they are as good as new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with these gloves! I bought these gloves based on a recommendation from a friend. I often get a sun allergy on my hands when trekking long days in the sun and sunscreen was not enough. These gloves were perfect to prevent any burn damage on the top of my hands and an added bonus was the blister prevention from trekking poles. Of course, the white gloves are now a dusty brown, but that won't stop me from wearing them. Very happy with them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for backpacking and hiking Just used these on a 4-day backpacking trip. They worked perfect protecting my palms from the poles and my hands from the sun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great on the flats Good, comfortable fit -- not too tight, not too loose -- so you don't even notice that they are there while they protect your hands from the sun and give you a better grip while stripping and fighting fish. They dry fast too. One of the best technical sun gloves I have used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable I got these on the off-chance that they would work as pole=hiking gloves. Do a fair amount of rugged 7-10 mile day hikes and started to use poles. They are just great, once I have them on, I forget about them and I like that they are unusual, a nice interesting color and design. Wash them in the machine, cold and hang to dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect ! I have logged over 150 hours on the push pole with these gloves, and I am impressed. Guiding on the flats presents two conflicting needs when it come to gloves, you need gloves that are nimble enough to allow you to tie blood knots and allbrights but that are also tough enough to stand up to hours upon hours of wet saltwater abuse on the push-pole. These gloves do both jobs equally well. They are holding up and only one of the friction pads is a little worn so far. My back-up pair is still in the bag. If you are an angler these gloves should last you a lifetime, if you are a guide they will certainly last you longer than anything else on the market. Perfection would be all these attributes and a quick drying palm...but thats a tall order. Great gloves, sized true won't be disappointed.
