Perfect jacket!
It fits well and isn't too hot. I like that it has a hood as well. Light enough to layer over a sweat shirt, but fine on its own. Holds up well in the rain, too.
It’s a head turner. Every single person noticed it and love the color. It’s comfy , fits well. The only thing is the hoodie it’s pointy. I have to push it down every time. But it’s not a bid deal.
I am sorry that I had to return this product. Seems perfect - love my Patagonia products! except Its important to me that I have a way to hang my jackets other than by the hood when a hanger is not an option. I do hope that Patagonia changes the design of this jacket and includes a hanging loop. Perhaps a manufacturer oversight.
I really wanted to love this jacket but there's one large issue with it. The hem on the jacket is not adjustable. This means that there's constant tension on it. Two big cons that limit this jacket. First, the sizing and fit is just awkward. It strangely carries a lot of volume in the back, so is baggy in a weird area. It definitely does not do a regular body type any favors with the fit, unless you like to look fluffed up.

Ideal for the cooler months of the year
I usually wear a medium but I for this one the small for me perfectly. I wore this hoody to keep me warm in the Salkantay trail in Peru. Not only did it prevent me from getting cold but it's also lighwe8and easily packable.
This is a solid jacket for bike commuting - it blocks the wind, it's not too heavy, not too light, layers well, can be smashed into any number of bags without wrinking, can be thrown into the laundry on the regular, and is, while not exactly fashionable, a nice shape and texture. Like many other reviewers, I do wish that the pockets zipped.
I'll start by noting that as we've not reached fall 2023 as yet & the temperatures have been in the 90s in the DC area, I've not had a chance to test this thing at the temps it's actually designed for. That said, the good: true to fit, front exterior hand warmer pockets are very deep (which is great). I also love the old sty... Read Morele hood draw strings. What needs work: the chest pocket zipper opening is, for a 5' 8" guy with medium-sized hands, too small. It needs to be at least a half-inch longer to be really comfortable to open & reach into. Also, a jacket like this really should have a large drop in interior pocket on both sides. Neither are deal killers for me, which is why I'm keeping this one...but upgrades/changes along the lines noted above would convince me to buy another one.
Also, I've seen other reviews complaining about the "feel" of the material compared to the Nano or Micropuff jackets/hoodies. I've no idea what those folks are talking about. The material may be different, but it's anything but "stiff" as some have suggested.
Haven't had cold weather to test it yet but is well made, fits well and has enough room for me to layer it with my old R3. Look forward to challenging the cold on my hikes. Oh and I "look" good in it" (-:

I live in Portland OR. It's wet here, a lot, while this isn't a rain coat, it does the trick of getting you from house to car, car to store/work. The reversible jacket material was super thin and wrinkly and the inner fleece was of really cheap quality and it formed a lump upon wearing. The bomber jacket has a weird hoody with a long pointy end, very cheap feeling harsh fabric, super baggy (Popeye) arms and tight elastic at the bottom. I am not sure who is designing these jackets :( Are they this way because the company must use earth friendly recycled and scrap fabric for supporting our Planet? It' summer!!!
I haven't been able to accurately rate this item as it is SUMMER! Maybe later. But if it at all like the many Patagonia products I have purchased in the time you have been in business, it'll be fine.
I own a Down Sweater jacket in size men’s medium. I purchased the quilted bomber in men’s medium but had to exchange for size small. The M Bomber jacket sleeves run 3” inches longer then my M down sweater jacket. The shoulders were slightly bigger also.
The Hood when over the head comes to a point on top and looks like a conehead-weird looking but manageable.
The 2nd issue is the bottom elastic is too tight and I am a 33, normal hip/waist for a medium. I am planning to have the elastic cut to release the tension around my body. That's it. Otherwise, a light weather jacket.
I bought this for my boyfriend but am actually obsessed with this. I am ~ 5ft 6 in, 160lbs and this kinda feels like a medium.
Regardless, it's beautiful
I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend, and it fits him to a T (he is 6'1" and has long arms). The blue is a gorgeous color and he loves how it fits and looks. Another win for Patagonia!
The perfect jacket for the cool crisp day or night. Keeps you dry from light rain. Wore it on a trip to Italy and it fit right in with what everyone else was wearing. Stylish and functional. Fair price and amazing delivery speed.
I got the Sequoia color and it is much more brown than red; the chest pocket is the same color of brown, not a contrasting blue as shown, and the inner lining is a burnt sienna, also not as shown. I don't like the monotone look.

Really great garment:) I enjoy that though its a bomber but still its a nice length, personally i hate it when things fit real short;) I love the color(green) definitely a piece that looks better in person:) good pockets and that hoody comfort, it doesnt disappoint!
I bought the last one in the green color in size small :). I am 5'6"-7" and athletic build. The fit of the small is more slim than regular because I sized down a bit. I have received multiple positive comments about the color & style. It is warmer than I thought (especially given its weight) - and sized so that I can layer it under a shell. A full 2 season (late Fall, winter, and early Spring) companion.
The jacket does an excellent job at blocking the wind. Think of it like a shell and pair it with a sweatshirt for colder days. On its own it will keep you comfortable until you get into 40 degree weather. It takes up little space if you want to throw it in your pack.

This jacket fits very true to size with some extra wiggle room for a base or mid layer. The only negative is I was anticipating it to be the same casual soft material as the nono puffs. This one is a little more crunchy and rugged, which is great if thats what youre looking for.

The proportions are off; its hood is large, its baggy in the body which is accentuated by the elastic waist band that pulls the waist tight to your hips, so the torso has all this extra material. One could argue that is what to expect from a hoody, so with that in mind for a second iteration I would suggest ditching the hood and focus on making this a good looking jacket that one could wear to work on the daily (like the Tres 3-1 jacket, but lighter weight). The bagginess could be improved by making the cut more trim, or adding a side strap. With those tweaks it would be an ideal fit for the need I was hoping this jacket would fill. Casual jacket
This is a great layering piece or standalone jacket above 40 degrees. Below freezing you will need additional layers or better insulation. The hood is large but I appreciate its size over a cap or wool crown cap. It does run a little short in the torso for me but I find that typical of many of Patagonia lifestyle jackets.
I got this before going on a trip to Iceland in April. It is the best jacket I've owned in a long time. It's not going to get you through a freezing winter but this jacket has kept me warm and dry in various climates. I live in the mountains and this is the perfect everyday jacket until the temperatures really drop below freezing. It'... Read More;s roomy enough to layer so I've worn it in the snow and cold because I knew with the right layers under, I'd be warm. I'm also a woman but I'm tall so I prefer the men's jackets so they actually cover my wrists properly.
I have a couple of these jackets I use almost every day for 4 or 5 months a year. Mid winter I use it layered over the top of a Micro puff jacket or vest when it gets around 0. I like how simple the jacket is. And I like the price point. But for a few $ more this jacket could be a lot more. It would be a much better jacket with all zippered pockets... Read More. If it were not for the terrible front zipper, this would be a 5 star jacket. As is, the main zipper is too small, too fragile and too short. Among it's other failings the zipper is a full 3" too short in my size, which leaves your throat exposed. Not the only Patagonia jacket with a similar main zipper failing. After putting up with this jacket's zipper for the last two winters, yesterday I went to Amazon and ordered a heavier and longer zipper that I will have my local tailor install. It's not a cheap repair. Sadly, for Patagonia's design team not to recognize this prior to preproduction should be embarrassing. A company all about the planet and longevity-recycling and a garment (not the first mind you) that needs a new zipper long before the garment is worn out. I love this jacket. Which is why I have more than one. But sadly, the detailing I expected from Patagonia is missing. Thankfully it can be done better.

Good casual jacket for cool weather
I normally wear small for Patagonia jacket but I ordered x-small for this one so it wont be too boxy. Fit good; just a tiny bit short but not a problem. The hood is huge though. Wish it is smaller. Good quality jacket as usual from Patagonia. Very comfortable for around 60F weather with a thin base layer.
The jacket was sized way larger than the other 2 patagonia jackets I have. Not to mention the tight elastic band on waistline of jacket being too tight against body. I sold it ..
Hey Brent, thank you for the review. We're sorry to hear that you experienced some inconsistency in sizing. All of our items have different fits, so that could be part of the issue. You can check on the fit of an item by going to its product page and checking underneath the size range options. We have form-fitting, slim, regular, and relaxed fits. Warm, Comfortable, and Durable
A fresh take on the hoodie, bomber style. This jacket not only looks great, but is super comfortable. The exterior pockets are deep enough to hold fly boxes, cans, dog leashes, typical fall and spring items. I'd hang it up in the winter, though, the hoodie design, while cool looking, leaves your neck exposed. Could be a good thing if you'... Read Morere layered up and active, though.
Little large but I like my jackets like that. You can comfortably fit a sweater or hoodie underneath. Would definitely recommend and would definitely buy again.
Impressed with the styling, fit and comfort. However, be forewarned this is not a very warm jacket. Temperatures below 40 degrees F are not conducive to wearing this jacket.
Hi Brice! Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We're sorry to hear the jacket wasn't warm enough for you. It's not the warmest winter jacket we offer so we can understand this. If you're interested in a warmer option we'd suggest our [Men's Down Sweater Hoody](https://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-down-sweater-hoody/84702.html?dwvar_84702_color=BLK).

My new favorite jacket
I have been looking for a good jacket for me here in the Pacific Northwest. I always wear hoodies so that makes it hard to find a good windproof/waterproof outer shell that is lightweight and unrestricting.

Nice color: This item is not new, but the new color sceem and design with contrasting color on chest pocket make the jacket very attractive. Material in & out is very comfortable and easy to slide off and on.
Tried on A LOT of hoodies and then came across this one! Light yet warm; great for walking the dogs, hiking, or as a layering piece. Appreciate the adjustable drawstring hood. Two things would make this hoody even more awesome: available in women's (bought a men's XS) and zippered pockets.
Still a legend! Have another one of these and its still a great mid or over layer. really nice and comfortable. runs a little large but that is good for layering. Nice deep pockets. Only negative is the same jacket came on sale at REI for $15 less than I paid at the Patagonia outlet sale
Waterproof is awesome. Its lite enough for Chicgaos fall weather, cold morning, 60s by afternoon.
Only down side, wish the pockets were zippered. But overall, a great jacket
Sorry, this didn't do it for me. Too large, thin material, odd fit. My wife disliked the color, but that was the least of its falling flat for me. Returned.

Just had to try this one out!
Be warned, it does run a little big. Not massive... but the large is for sure a LARGE. It's great for a baggy look or with a sweatshirt underneath. The new dark green looks fantastic and the quality is 100% solid - as expected from Patagonia. The fabric feels a little thin, but I've been quite warm in it so far. Another A+ jacket from Pat... Awesome jacket, except for the hood. It is ridiculous looking. When the hood is up it looks like you're wearing an evil wizard's robe. When up, however, this makes it look l... Read Moreike you're a cone-head. I like the jacket and I rarely put my hood up so I'll probably keep it, but this design could definitely be improved. I have a lot of Patagonia wear, for all seasons. Love each item I have received over years, always told how nice the Item looks! I have added 3 new items this summer for Fall and Winter wear.
I adore Patagonia and use their outer wear on a regular basis. I want to love this jacket so much, it fits well, the material feels good, sturdy, I even like the sound. Zippers?
Sorry, Patagonia. You missed the mark by not putting zippers on the hand warmer pockets. For that reason it is a non-starter. Otherwise, typical Patagonia quality and I would call it warm.
Hi Craig, we apologize for the absence of zippered pockets. If you find the lack of zippers too bothersome, please feel free to begin a [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html) at any time.

Fabulous, timely service, product packaging
Fabulous, timely service, product packaging was excellent, and delivery was swift. Color, quality, fit and finish were all superb. Happy camper.
Pretty stoked on the smoked Orange sherbet color, like the room for others layers and hoody component .. now just waiting on snow up here in NW Montana. Thank you Patagonia
Love this jacket! Having plenty of years in nano puff jackets and while I appreciate evolution, I wish this would have always been what nano was but alas, here we are.

I ordered this to replace my original Patagonia hooded sweater. That item had the zipper replaced (by you) Free of charge 5 times! The fabric finally wore through after 20+years. Looking forward to cooler weather to star wearing my new model, thanks for believing in making everything sustainable and better. Love your products and cause.
I wear a large in most patagonia, but this one is pretty roomy. I'm 6'2, 170lbs. Fits the arm length, but I think you would need to be over 220lbs to fill the large. Down size or start pumping iron...or french fries.
Hi Scott! Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We're really sorry to hear about the disappointment with the sizing. I have always used patagonia
I have always used patagonia and always will! For me its true to size and this jacket is super warm. Thanks again for making a great jacket....
Bomber Hoody is great for when it's just a bit too warm for my down hoody
Bought this for a late summer trip through the Canadian Rockies. Lightweight, warm, and comfortable. Plenty warm for higher altitude hiking this past week. Stayed warm even when the wind was howling. I bought this for my husband in an xl, he is 6foot4, and lean. I returned it for the large as it was so wide. The large was perfect in length and width. The xl would be good for a large build mid section man. Its a nice weight and will be great for fall hiking.
