Airy, crushable-yet-resilient, and back by popular demand: The Duckbill Cap pairs an open tricot mesh and Supplex® nylon (now using updated Baggies™ fabric) for the reflective coverage of a running hat with the heat-dumping functionality of a visor. The short foam brim shades your eyes without blinding you to overhead branches and bounces back to its shape after being folded in the pocket of your shorts. A COOLMAX® fabric headband wicks moisture and a slim rear buckle with elastic adjusts the fit.
  • The brim and front are made of updated Baggies™ fabric; open mesh on rest of cap dissipates heat
  • Foam brim can fold into a pocket and rebound to its original shape
  • Dark underbill reduces glare
  • COOLMAX® fabric headband wicks moisture
  • Adjustable rear buckle with elastic for snug fit
  • Crown and brim: 4.2-oz 100% Supplex® nylon. Panels: 4-oz 100% polyester tricot mesh. Headband: COOLMAX® fabric. Fabric is bluesign® approved
  • 62 g (2.2 oz)
  • Made in China.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Brim just not long enough. I thought this would be the perfect workout hat. The cool mesh is great, however, the brim of this hat is way too short. Since I particularly want it to shade my face from the unrelenting southern CA sun, it just doesn't do the job. Seems like it shades my eyes, but not the rest of my face. I'm constantly pulling it down to try to get more coverage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great running (and everywhere) hat! I wear this hat on every run. The mesh makes it soft and breathable, and it keeps my hair out of my face. I wish the hat was a bit larger - I have a large head, women's hats rarely fit me, but Patagonia hats usually fit me, with a little room to spare. With this hat however, I had to cut the elastic band on back to make the band a little bigger. I would love it if that hat was just a bit bigger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking hat I got this hat just because I thought it looked interesting and unique. I was concerned about some of the reviews saying it didn't fit well on big heads but it works great for me and I have a rather large head and a ton of thick hair. The hat wears great and the material is comfortable and the ventilation is awesome! I wear this hat everywhere now and always get compliments on it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rain or Shine First of all, i wear it on a 40min run to a 12hour haul. From a simple training day to the race, rain or shine. The problem is, its a wee bit expensive and i only have 1 so i had to skip some just to make it last till i reach 40 (im 31) Here's what Pats folks need to fix : 1. The hat is a bit bigger and too deep (my head 21inch ish) 2. Colour. Can you make an all solid colour? Like all black or all lime green? The white mesh colour makes me feel like im wearing a golf hat. I dont golf 3. The stretchy lock will loose its tightness during the run. Fix it. And i dont think the clip will last long. The hat is expensive, make it worth. 4. Make a Jeff Browning edition. Giddyup

Rated 4 out of 5 by from bring back other colors. Please bring back other solid and multi-solid colors. Not a fan of this year's (2016) colors, but the hat is nice. But I know people love this design of a hat, and thanks to patagonia for keeping it going.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for hiking and backpacking Finally replaced a 10 year old Patagonia running hat with holes in it that I used for many sweaty activities. The Duckbill cap is great for hiking and backpacking. I have an XL head, and it fits fine. Lightweight, easy to smush into a random pocket, the bill is just long enough to keep the sun out of my eyes. I like having the snap in the back to attach the hat to pack or whatever when it's not on my head.
