The first sound of geese overhead tells us winter’s on the way. It also tells us to be ready for damp skies and wet brush. Rugged and super-versatile, our Field Pants provide comfort and protection for long days on the move. The stretchy 96% nylon/4% spandex body fabric allows full freedom of motion on steep terrain, while the tough, 500-denier nylon front facings provide extra durability and water resistance; both fabrics offer 50+ UPF sun protection. Belt loops and an elastic waistband ensure a close and motion-friendly fit. Additional features include articulated knees for full-range motion, two front slash pockets, and zippered back and thigh pockets to hold and secure whatever you need. Consider these the official pants of woodcutters, brush busters, bird watchers and anyone else feeling the urgency of the season.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants for working outside! I bought these pants for working outside, brush cutting and yard cleanup and they are amazing. Light weight, room to move, won't over heat and durable. I would recommend these pants to people working outside. Depending on your waist size you might need a belt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best pants I own These are the most comfortable pants I own by far and away. I am 6 foot 4 290lbs. They are super comfy with plenty of room for me to move when I'm outdoors. I also wear them in the oyster hatchery where I work. It's a tough environment surrounded by salt water. The pants have held very well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Consider the Crotch The first day of owning these, the stitching on the crotch began to break. Prior to buying these, I noticed that several of the reviews mentioned this same problem. Having owned a few successful pair of Patagonia pants in the past, I didn't think too much of these reviews... After one day of regular use, the stitching on the crotch began to fail and rip. The issue lies in the the two different fabrics used in the pants. One is stretchy and one is stiff. Wherever these two different types of fabric are joined, Patagonia uses double stitching. Unfortunately, the stitching on the crotch area is single stitching. If you use these pants for office or laboratory work, they should be fine. But in the field... they will fail

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Field Pants Review I have really gotten interested with the Patagonia brand since listing to the NPR podcast of Plant Money that discussed the guy that started Patagonia and the philosophy of the company. Now the Field Pants, I am caught between sizes my waist is 34 so I got the large since the large is 34, 35, 36. The large was just that, too large, so I had an really easy return (5 stars) and then bought the medium (32, 33, 34) Now the pants are a little tight in the waist and crotch. I have worn then twice and now have a seem tear in the crotch from kneeing to fast. I will be returning this style of pants and keep with the Rock and Quandary style that fit my body style better. Though these pants did not work out for me, I will continue to shop Patagonia for the clothing and the customer service that I received. NOW GET OUTSIDE AND GET AFTER IT!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rugged and versatile pants I bought the Field Pants in Bear Brown about two months ago at the recommendation of a friend and have been thrilled with the results. I weigh 162, have a 30 inch waist, and have muscular legs and the small fits great and isn't too tight around my quads. The pants are durable, flexible and breathable. I wore them on a strenuous hike in the Shenandoah National Park today, and even though it was 85+ out my my lower body didn't overheat. Great quality and perfect for lounging, hiking in most conditions, and traveling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bird Hunting or Birdwatching These pants are lightweight but fend off the thickest brush. Perfect for warmer weather bird hunting or any field sport. I am 32x32 165 and Medium fits perfectly. Nice lighweight hiking pants!
