M's Down Sweater Hoody,
All down contains a mixture of light and dark clusters, and some dark down clusters might be visible through a garment's shell fabric – especially lighter-colored garments. As always, we stand behind all our products with the Patagonia Ironclad Guarantee.

Spring in the Rockies delivers an unpredictable mess of warm, summer-like days interspersed with snaps of teeth-chattering cold. Our Down Sweater Hoody helps hold your warmth with 800-fill-power Traceable Down (European goose down traced from parent farm to apparel factory to help ensure the birds that supply it are not force-fed or live-plucked), stabilized through a quilted construction and protected by a superlight but tough, windproof and water-resistant shell fabric (100% recycled polyester ripstop) with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. Pockets: two zippered handwarmers (the drawcord hem tightens from inside the pockets) and one interior zippered chest that doubles as a stuffsack with carabiner clip-in loop. With a single-pull adjustable hood and a contoured fit.

Traceable Down Insulation

Patagonia Traceable Down provides the highest assurance of animal welfare in the apparel industry. Every down cluster, in every one of our down products, comes exclusively from birds that were never force-fed and never live-plucked. How do we know? We hired an independent third-party expert to trace and verify our down supply chain from farm to jacket–and every step in between. Learn more

Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best coat I've ever owned!!! I feel like this has been the worst winter on record that I can remember in the Pacific Northwest. That said - everyday I am pretty stoked to get to throw on my Hooded Down Sweater again!!! Rain. Check. Snow. Check. Freezing rain. Check. Chilliaxing on the couch. Check. Happiest customer ever. Double check. Hats off Patagonia - this jacket is a keeper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great weight and sizing! I've had this jacket for a few months now. I purchased it to complement my Ultralight Down Jacket as I was finding it to be a bit too light for winter climbs here in the Pacific NW. The Down Sweater Hoody has been great this winter, it is warm and compresses well for stashing in the pack. The hood is also great for added warmth around the neck and for keeping your head warm when it's really nasty out. I often have problems finding products with long enough arms - I'm 6'7" and rather skinny - but both the Down Sweater Hoody and the Ultralight Down Jacket are just right.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Jacket I bought this a month ago. It has served me well, as it keeps me comfortably warm in the coldest days of the southeast. It fits well and I can easily fit what I usually wear underneath it: t-shirt, flannel, and even a hoodie if I really need it. So far, the only problems I've had are around 4 or 5 down feathers sticking out on the inside of the jacket where the stitching holes are. It has a nice and large inner pocket, and the hand warmer pockets provide instant relief from the cold. The hood is very technically shaped, not like a cotton hoodie that is droopy. It's designed to envelope you in warmth. I have a large head so it sometimes feels too small but for most people it will be perfect. I never find the need to use the drawstrings to cinch the jacket to my body, but I have tested it and it stays tight and seals in all warmth. Overall, if you're looking for a jacket to insulate, that is stylish in town or practical in the wilderness, you'll be warm, no doubt.
