UPF Fabric

Lacking fur, feathers or scales, we humans have to think up clever ways to protect ourselves from the sun. Products with the UPF designation provide built-in sun protection that won’t wear off.

To achieve sun protection, Patagonia takes a varied approach, depending on the degree of protection desired and the fabric used. Elements of the strategy can range from yarn selection to fabric construction to the use of special finishes (especially for light colors which generally provide less protection).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Message for clothing designers: too long!!! Guys, let me first off start by saying I love Patagonia and I love these pants. However, they are too long. I ordered a short and the shorts are multiple inches too long. i am 5’7 and I’ve had other agree with me that are close to my height. Supposedly a few seasons back the length was perfect but Idk why you guys decided to switch things up and make your pants so long. Please short means short! Please give a short option!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable, and quieter than anticipated I've worn these pants just a couple of times so far. They were quite comfortable, even in warm weather. I was a bit concerned that they would make rubbing / crinkling noises but am happy to find that that was not the case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants I already had 5 pair of the older style quandary pants and I like these even more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even better than my first pair This is my second pair of Quandary pants and I love them, This one has some improvements over my first pair including a draw string and a zippered back picket. The thigh pocket is a little larger as well. These pants are thin, light, move with you, and are all around my favorite pants by a long shot. Well worth the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Would be perfect if not for bizarre fit. Typical top notch Patagonia quality. Before I went for these I got the Baggies 7" and Houdini jackets which were just as good. But there's no room in the seat. In the picture I have my wallet and phone in the pockets and I was standing with my feet just barely at shoulder width. The fabric is constantly stretched, even when I stand with my feet together. Waist is great, thigh and lower leg space is great. Really wanted to keep these but going to have to send them back. These are the size 28s.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tough and comfortable I bought these a couple of months ago and find them to be very comfortable and they appear to be very durable. They were well on hot days and don't show a lot of wrinkles. They seem to dry fairly quickly and are a great fishing pant. Good pocket layouts. I think you have a winner.
