Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm in love! <3 I was gifted this amazing jacket for my birthday and I haven't wanted to take it off. I have a few patagonia jackets, but the coziness of this one is on a different level. The good surprised me as I sat in the wind watching soccer. The hood stayed on without feeling tight or looking ridiculous. My favorite part though, is the softness I feel on my face from inside flaps by the zipper! It's the BEST, I am sooooo happy! It's going to make me a very happy camper when we move to England!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always the best! I outgrew my old Down Sweater Hoody and sought out a replacement last fall, sadly I wasn't a fan of any of the colors options at that time and after much back and forth decided on an Arc'teryx Cerium LT instead. While I loved the color option and warmth of the Arc'teryx, the features and functionality of the Patagonia Down Sweater Hoody absolutely beats it: built-in stuff pocket, the high chin zip with soft fleece liner, the internal chest pocket, the torso length and straighter fit, heavy duty zippers. I use this jacket primarily as a stand-alone for bike commuting and hiking but I've also used it with my ski shell. It's still the best jacket I've ever owned. I got a size Large to accommodate for layers underneath and to fit over my wider hips and it doesn't feel oversized or bulky, my previous size was a Medium and was just a little too snug in my hips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST thing I own! I bought the down sweater jacket (with no hoody) over a year ago, and have used it for everything possible! Super easy to pack down and bring on hikes, camping, and travel in general! Just warm enough and perfect for layering. I ended up buying a hooded one just recently in a different color, as it really adds warmth when the wind picks up and I regretted not getting the hoody initially. I honestly love this jacket and am sure I'll use it for years and years to come. For reference, I bought a size small and I'm 5'6, 120 lbs. Could have easily done an XS but I like things a bit loose with the ability to layer under!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have not taken this coat off since I bought it I got this coat about a month ago and wear it everywhere. I wear it in my cold office, on the ski hill and everything in between. I get so many compliments on it and it is super comfortable. I love that Patagonia coats run a little on the bigger size so you can layer underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is “THE” jacket Oh my gosh I cannot say enough good things about this jacket. i am always frozen. I mean completely frozen. I can wear layers of merino wool and a r1 and an r2 and a vest and a soft shell wind proof jacket and still be freezing. Nothing has ever kept me warm....until THIS jacket. I can go out for a walk with my dogs in 20 degree temps with winds gusting and wind chills below zero and only have a baselayer underneath and not feel any wind or cold. The hood is amazing and makes a nice tight fit around your face so the air doesn’t get through the sides. It has a great fit considering how warm it is. It is not big and bulky but fairly streamlined. It is roomy enough to put several layers underneath. I am 5’5” and 120lbs and typically an xs in Patagonia and that is what I bought this jacket in. So I would say it is true to size. Those of you who have issues like me fitting into the nano puff jacket because it is tight across the shoulders-this jacket is not cut like the nano puff. There is plenty of room and I do not feel constricted at all. This is going to be my go to jacket all winter long. I only wish I had bought one years ago so I could have been warm instead of freezing my rear off all the time! Fantastic job Patagonia! You definitely got it right this time!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointing fit After years of wear & several repairs I retired my old Down Sweater Jacket. Patagonia's fantastic lifetime guarantee on their products provided me with a credit to order a new one. I have been an XS in Patagonia products for 10+ years, but in the last two years XS no longer fits in my old standby items. Sadly, the Down Sweater falls in that category. I loved this jacket, kept me so warm, so light, windproof... but now the XS is too tight in the arms & shoulders but boxy around my middle. The S is huge on me, would not be warm. One of the reasons I love this brand is that they have always cut for strong, athletic women. Now this jacket & all the Caplilene base layers I love are too tight for muscles in the arms & shoulders. Very disappointing. Now it's winter, I don't have a warm coat & am just going to sit on this credit until the sizing changes. 5' tall (or short, really), 105 lbs, athletic build.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Down on all the down love Down is fantastic, it keeps you warm and also packs down so small. This jacket is no different, it packs down nicely into it's internal pocket for storage and up until I washed it after a year, it kept me very warm. However, once I washed it and dried it with tennis balls in the dryer (as Patagonia says to do), it never returned to full loft. I started to feel cold around every single stitch and I've been losing down regularly since. The nylon material on the outside is so incredibly sensitive. I feel like I just have to look at it and it gets a hole. As a result, this jacket is no longer in my pack for mountain adventures but instead stays in the car as an extra dry layer for when I get back from a day of ski touring or a jacket for around town. It's been 2 years and if someone asked me if I would buy one of these jackets again, I would sadly have to say no. I'd rather go with a down jacket that has a thicker material on the outside like the Mountain Hardwear version. But really, I'm more likely to go with a thick merino loft jacket next time, even though packability is somewhat compromised, at least I won't ruin my jacket by washing it once.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps me warmer than a shot of whiskey Such a great down jacket for the price! Plus, I feel great wearing it knowing it's made from recycled polyester and traceable down. This is my go-to down jacket. It withstands cold days on the river, even when there is a slight drizzle in the air. My only wish is that this jacket came in more neutral tones. Size small is perfect and allows for a couple of layers underneath. 5'2'', 110 lb.
