Patagonia Men's R2® Yulex® Back-Zip Full Wetsuit

Really good but not flawless

The suit is excellent - warm, flexible, durable (in use for a summer season sometimes out three or four times a week) and showing no sign of wear. It fits perfectly: Im tall and fairly slim. The gasket that fits over your head has an annoying habit or rolling up if you get washed through and I find myself having to tuck it back in. Not the end of t... Read Morehe world, but it would be nicer not to have to. Maybe there needs to be more material in the gasket, or a Velcro tab on the front to hold it in place? Also: the zip doesnt hold in place well and has been pushed down a couple of times. Ive had other, much cheaper back zip suits that havent had this problem. Overall I love my R2 (and R3 and R4 suits). Am really happy to have a yulex option that does such a good job. If the gasket and zip were better, itd be perfect.

Extremely comfortable

We chose a M wetsuit for my slim college-aged kid because the MS wasn't available, which is why it's slightly too big, but it's so comfortable that the kid joked that it could be sold as sleepwear!

Not true to size : Too tight and restricting.

The wetsuit is very well made. Love the details, interior padding, exterior knee pad and reinforced bottom ankle material however for the average surfer (I am 6'2"/215 pounds) it is not true to size at an XXL. I never need to get XXL normally only XL but I was warned that your products are structured for real lean builds so I picked the X... Read MoreXL. Its just too tight everywhere so limits my range of motion and makes paddling a workout even when not in the water. Also the forearm and wrist area is way too small. I compared it to 2 competitors XXL wetsuits one of which I ended up purchasing and that area on your suits is at least 33% smaller. Way too tight and I don't have big arms. So tight I can feel my pulse and forget wearing a watch or anything on the wrist. You need to rethink this area. Also I would recommend you bring back the XXXL as that may have worked for me since and been much more comfortable and I really wanted to make it work. I love the quality, look and feel but if its too tight, restrictive and uncomfortable I am not going to surf well in it.

Excellent fit - Back Zip Easy

6'2" - 215 lbs - XXL fits perfectly. Back zip is easy off. Main review I've noticed is that it is a bit stiff, but I do not think so compared to other 4/3 wetsuits I've worn. Inside material is very comfy and my butt and legs are nearly dry when I take the wetsuit off! I've only worn out surfing 4x - but so far so good. Rea... Read Moreson I really bought was the durability and not having to buy a new wetsuit every 3rd year. We'll see.

Comfy

I like my suits a little larger than size charts call for. Im 60 - 170 and the LT fits just like LTs Ive had from three other brands. Seems a little more difficult to pull on, maybe due to more plush lining. After five minutes of paddling it pulls into place and is the most comfortable suit Ive ever had. Great suit.
