Read More Close
Keep it together longer with the thoughtfully designed Fore Runner Vest. Lightweight and highly breathable, it has a close fit and a clean, efficient design that stays in sync with your motions for minimal bounce and maximum comfort when you’re running ultras or long, self-supported vision quests. The top-loading main compartment, made from weather-resistant nylon ripstop, keeps your hydration (2L reservoir included) and your choice of calories secure next to the body. It also features an integrated compression system and a quick open-and-close entry that’s simple to use, even at mile 78. A supple foam back panel, made from lightweight mono mesh, breathes to keep you cool and dry. Stretch pockets hold your flasks or hand bottles, and numerous small stash pockets give you options for storing your salts and gels. Airflow mesh throughout the vest has a soft edge binding for next-to-skin comfort. Made from 3.7-oz 100-denier high-tenacity nylon ripstop with a 6.25-oz 210-denier nylon semi-dull double-ripstop base. Both fabrics have a polyurethane coating and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Held up really well Had and used heavily for about 13 months. Read complaints about water in the pack. Can't attest to that. I think the roll top generally works well, but I would always Ziploc(TM) anything I'm putting in the pack for self-sustained trail runs anyway, I think the pack carries well but I have a bigger chest so no real issues here with those adjustments. Would recommend if you have need to carry quite a bit between aid stations in unknowing conditions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent in most ways, 2 large flaws I bought this for run-commuting. I love how it fits -- nice and snug with little to no bouncing. I also love the multiple compartments on the straps -- makes it easy to put keys/phone that need to be accessed without taking everything out of the pack. The way the straps are dual purposed -- they both make the pack tighter to your back and also compress the contents further is also a great design. There are 2 big things and 1 small thing that bother me though: 1. When water is left in pouch over night, the next morning it is incredibly bitter. This is a bit worrisome to me as it indicates that something in the bag/plastic is seeping into the water. It's not the 'plastic' taste that many people complain about with hydration packs. That flavor doesn't bother me. This is a distinctly bitter flavor, almost like soap. I've used recommended methods like filling the bag with a baking soda solution and letting it sit, but this does not prevent the bitter flavor from seeping into the water overnight. I REALLY hope Patagonia will look into this. 2. The top-cinch doesn't close fully and doesn't fold over itself perfectly to prevent rain from getting in. 3. The way the water spout is designed, when you stop drinking and release your bite on the mouthpiece, air fills the water pipe. This means that the next time you go to drink, you have to suck the excess air out before you get water. Not a big deal when walking or doing low intensity exercise. But when running, this makes it really inefficient to drink from the spout.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect I have been using this pack for more than 2 years for running, hiking, nordic skiing, and even commuting and I'm extremely happy with it. Ladies, the fit is great, it does not bounce during running and there is plenty space for extra jackets, lunch and even a small laptop! There is only one 'But': The pack can't be fully closed and turns into a water collection bag when running/hiking through the rain! Expect to empty your bag afterwards and don't be surprised of the amount of water that comes out - and the extra liters that you have be dragging around! So ziplock everything in plastic bags if you expect bad weather. One tip for Patagonia: make a little hole in the bottom, so water can escape. I made a 'button hole' myself with my sewing machine and it works :-) Otherwise, an awesome pack!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product. I bought this to use it during my long runs. The first use was for a half marathon. The hydration pack was large enough to keep me going and I was able to carry some food, my wallet and an extra t-shirt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Neat perfect hydration pack I bought this for actually sup racing as my hydration, Its probably a bit big for that but thats why I got it. It has so much room if you need to carry anything with you like a jacket etc etc. And if you use it for just hydration its feels small and light. well done guys, its the perfect hydration pack for literally anything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic for running or bike commuting I bought this pack 2 years ago and just love it. I've used it for ultra races and running or bike commuting. It's the perfect size for packing a little bit of stuff like water bladder, food and jacket or a lot like shoes and work clothes. The pocket in the front fits bear spray perfectly. I'm only 5'4 so was worried it might bounce around but haven't had any issues as the size is very adjustable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for biking I have been using this pack for mountain biking and have found it to be a great pack for that. It stays in place while going over jumps (which my last pack did not) and has all the right features except one - a bigger inside pocket for holding a multi tool and other repair parts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Carries very well, adjustability I've been using for mountain biking and a few light day hikes. The pack itself carries very well, far more comfortable than any of the Camelbacks I've owned. Bite valve is ok but a bit finicky. I am a little leary of the reservoir closure, but no leaks and so far, so good. Only real negative is the size of the reservoir, I'd love to see 100 over 70. All that said it's the best carrying hydro pack I've used and it's adjustability and storage make it a great choice for MTB or light hikes.
